How HUGE were La Toya Jackson's balls in the early 90s?
First she posed for Playboy in 1989 & 1991. Something most Black female celebs (even washed up ones) just didn't do. La Toya even showed a little pink!
Then in 1991, she wrote a juicy tell-all book (La Toya: Growing Up in the Jackson Family), in which she accused her father of sexually assaulting her & her sister (Rebbie) for several years. As a child AND as an adult.
And then there was the infamous press conference and endless interviews in 1993. In which she sided with Michael Jackson's accusers and claimed that the whole family knew that he was abusing little boys.
Years later La Toya claimed that her sleazy husband Jack Gordon had brainwashed her and beat her until she said the things she did. Gordon may very well have been abusive, but her conviction while exposing her family makes me think she was telling the truth.
What does DL think? This is shocking stuff; up there with MacKenzie Phillips' story.

I've owned nearly all of her albums and both of her books. She was clearly a battered woman who was forced against her will by a POS with heavy mob connections into marriage and slandering her family and causing cheap PR stunts for cash. Years after they divorced, he managed Paula Jones (yes, that Paula Jones) and what did she end up doing? Adverts for the Psychic Friends Network like La Toya did and she too claimed abuse from him as well. Even Katherine and Janet correctly guessed at the time that she was being brainwashed by him into acting and speaking that way. Michael forgave her very easily because they were very close before that POS came into her life and he knew that wasn't really his older sister behind all of those stunts and accusations.

R2, La Toya's original nose was a little wide and not all that attractive. But she should have stopped with the plastic surgery after the first nose job. It's almost as if Jack Gordon was trying to make her look like her brother.
Here she is after the first nose job in the early 80s. She was STUNNING!

R10, I've heard about the Prince date & it's another reason I believe some of the sexual abuse allegations. As beautiful as she was, she was extremely shy, still lived at home with her parents and followed her mother around like a puppy dog until she was damn near 30. Prince thought it was weird and never asked for another date. Something's off about that.

The Jacksons were Jehovah's Witnesses too and very devout. Except when it came to money. Joe had the kids perform at adult clubs and they even recorded Christmas albums.

Hilariously, the Jackson Family dissaproved of Janet's marriage to the De Barge lead singer becasue they considered the family "too ghetto". But what's worse, being ghetto or being a Jackson?

Latoya didn’t show pink in playboy. I think the family tried to steer her into an acting career but she wanted to sing. The first nose job was very good and transformed her from pretty to stunning.
Hasn’t some what she said in those early 90s interviews about Michael turned out to be true. The checks her and Katherine found and connecting them to the families of the boys he was going after and Katherine calling him a faggot?

R11, it's ironic hearing Janet talk that way about La Toya's lack of success. I remember Janet's first 2 flop albums. If it hadn't have been for Jam & Lewis, she could have ended up just as musically unsuccessful as her sisters!
And then there's this tidbit from La Toya's wiki page:
"In October 1992, while taping an Exotic Club Tour in Minneapolis [La Toya] Jackson approached her sister Janet Jackson, also in town recording her fifth studio album with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, to ask for help in escaping from [Jack] Gordon. Janet struck La Toya, accusing her elder sister of recording their conversation."
DAMN!

Janet seemed the less anti-black of her family. Her music was very R&B with a heavy hip-hop sound too later on and it was less light and colorblind than her brother's. She starred in Poetic Justice playing a hood chick opposite Tupac and was in many Tyler Perry films. She even was with black guys like James DeBarge, Bobby Brown (allegedly) and Jermaine Dupri (yuck!). Maybe because she was the youngest and least brainwashed to self-hate by Joe.

It says something that Michael's kids still like their "auntie" La Toya.

It's hard for me to not believe La Toya's now-recanted stories because I purchased her 1991 book and she revealed a lot and I don't believe she was lying.
She described a terrifying encounter of going to Phil Spector's house where he terrorized her and she had to escape. I totally believe her given what we know happened with Lana Clarkson.
She also described her mother as a staunch anti-Semite. It just rang too true for me to believe she was lying.
Curiously, though, she didn't say anything negative about Michael in the '91 book. She was very fond of him.

Some of Janet's early songs like Young Love weren't that bad but they were too dated and innocent for the time period. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis were sonically innovative and cutting edge which drastically helped her career. Janet was a big fan of Prince apparently and wanted her music to sound more like his. Jam & Lewis also helped New Edition's transition to adulthood after singing that childish schlock that Maurice Starr wrote.

Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Babyface, LA Reid and Teddy Riley all contributed to the formation of the new genre of music called [bold]New Jack Swing[/bold]. Bobby Brown, Janet Jackson, Pebbles, New Edition, Karyn White, Paula Abdul, Vanessa Williams, New Kids on the Block, Dangerous era Michael Jackson, Johnny Gill, Bell Biv Devoe, Al B. Sure! and Christopher Williams were examples of this genre. New jack swing was popular in Sweden and Swedish producers created an imitation of it for Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and Britney Spears. Now it's enjoying another life in seen in a lot of Kpop groups.

I think Janet was just trying to protect the family honor. Even though it was bitchy of her to talk down to La Toya like that who was clearly suffering. Janet knew Joe was a shit father and she later admitted he also abused her too. But at the time of this, she didn't want the drama out in the public because it would potentially harm the family's reputation.

As for Michael Jackson. As much as I am fan of his music. He was a fucked up person and his obsession with hanging out with little white boys was always disturbing to me. I was always under the impression he wanted to be reincarnated as a little white boy and lived vicariously through these kids. He unfortunately grew up not only during the Jim Crow era of racial inequality but also with a psycho abusive father who drilled self-hate into him as well and deprived him of a childhood. But despite his past, his behavior towards this kids was completely inappropriate and it was sign of the time when we still allowed rich celebrities to do whatever they wanted. Which is something we are finally putting an end to. I don't think he violently raped anyone but he was inappropriate with the sleepovers and playing doctor. He exploited these kids who were too young to understand what was happening. He also warped the minds of his adopted kids by telling them they were black when he knows these were little white kids he adopted. Paris Jackson's identity issues are not something to make fun of, her daughter taught her she was black. Culturally she is raised in an African-American family but she is still white and doesn't live the life of a black person.

"Even before the Jackson Family lost a $40 billion lawsuit against AEG over the death of Michael Jackson, they’ve struggled with debts. Especially when the family’s richest members, Michael and Janet, decided to cut off their seven other siblings and parents out of whim or spite.
A particularly low point came in 2003. No money was coming in, few of them had actual jobs and Janet gave but one gift to her siblings: free meal cards to Baja Fresh, a fast-food chain with which she had an endorsement deal.
I visited Rebbie, the oldest of the Jackson kids, in Vegas, to work on a book. It was Baja Fresh for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From there I drove to Hayvenhurst, the family’s estate in Encino, Calif., to meet Katherine, the matriarch, and Jermaine.
And for 2¹/₂ weeks it was . . . Baja Fresh.
Finally, for the sake of my stomach, I offered to take Katherine to Trader Joe’s. She loaded the cart with groceries, and I ended up with the bill — $700.
There was no “thank you.” The money was never repaid. Whatever courtesies are shown to them are met with the air of “You did what you ought to. We are the Jacksons!”

Katherine is a cunt because she's an enabler and abusive in a passive aggressive way. She didn't stop Joe from hurting the children. Yes I know she was a black housewife in older time where divorce was taboo and women were expected to be quiet. But even in the changing times, she still stayed with Joe and seemed to not care at all about her kids except for the money they would bring in. She's quiet and soft spoken but seems just as evil as Joe.

I like LaToya, but she went back and forth (recanted) her allegations about her family. She's simply not that credible. I doubt her testimony could stand up in court.
I do believe she is a gentle and sweet person, very sensitive. I think her family should have given her a decent allowance (and an apartment) once she turned 18. I think lack of money was the reason for most of her bad decisions.

Way back in the early 1990s, I went to the video store and saw a VHS tape entitled "LaToya Jackson in Concert." I was game, so I rented it.
