Mrs. Beasley holds the record for the creepiest mainstream doll. Who was Mr. Beasley, why did she look like an old lady, who was her optometrist, what was her dedication to Swiss dot?

Note that the doll has “not for sale” on it so people don’t freak out when they discover she isn’t for sale.

The dolls on the cover of this book. One doll looks like she is dangling from the end of noose perhaps in front of the other, more prominently featured one.

German bisque doll, circa 1860's-1880's from my collection. I don't think she's creepy at all, but, lots of people are unsettled by dolls, nowadays, probably due to horror movies with murderous dolls.

Dolls were fascinating to the Surrealists. I love Hans Bellmer's weird and wonderfully disturbing dolls.
