Really, r14? Your day would not have been complete until you made us look at that piece of shit? Shit, shitty shit. She is shit. All she is is shit. An excretory product with a recording contract. You are shit, too.

Thank you for posting that photo, R15. It immediately came to mind when I read the title of the thread.

Kodak disc film cameras! I had one when I was eight, and loved its slim profile, but hated the image quality & having fewer photos on one reel of film.

R21 I used to have eight or ten pairs of their corduroy short shorts, and LOVED them. Now? They go for ridiculous prices on ebay and other places.

R18 - I had a disc camera! All my college pics look like grainy crap. I took the disc negatives into a photo store to see if I could get improved prints and they said, "Good luck with that!"

I begged my mom and she finally bought me an OP jacket, with removable sleeves to become a vest! I was coolest kid in high school for a day.

Tight jeans! Even little guys like this looked good in them. Might be a good thread topic of its own!

R29 Even if they'd taken better photos, they simply weren't cost effective. Fifteen photos on a disc vs. twenty-four on a traditional roll of film? Logistically it makes sense, but I was always disappointed with that. And I was very young, but I don't recall disc film being that much less expensive than traditional 35mm rolls.
I remember finding a few undeveloped discs years after they stopped developing them. I'd still like to know what was on them. Whatever it was, I'm sure the quality was terrible! 🤣

I hate to do it but ....
Yes, him. You see, I hated the 80s, the naked grab of wealth aided by a complicit White House, the leering vulgarity, the suppression of the working class.
But in that same decade I loved Spy magazine and read it cover to cover, including the tiny text inserted around the margins of articles. It was Spy that showed me the person who embodied every single terrible thing about New York in the 80s. And we all know who that is.

The 80s will always remind me of making my own mix tapes and collections.
In 1982, I bought this exact GE Silver Signature boombox at Service Merchandise.
It was $250 and I was finally able to record on METAL bias cassettes!!!!
