There are portions of northern Italy that speak German.

R40 Dummies like R38 are unaware of that. Or all of the invasions in the South from northern Europe. . Or the fact that Italians for the last 60 years, or so, have been intermarrying between the various regions of the country. Most of my friends a mixtures of north south etc. R38 thinks it's still the 1920s. Unfortunately it's not so easy to find the swarthy Italian in modern Italy.

I'm half-Italian and half-Greek. The Italian side of the family was from the north (Genoa). My father's sister had red hair and blue eyes. On my mother's side, several of her sisters had blonde hair and blue eyes; my mother had green eyes.

But both my parents had dark hair, and my sister and I both ended up with brown hair and brown eyes. Dominant genes at work.

Franco Zeffrellli was blonde when he was younger, I think. I think of him as graying older director.

I'm half Sicilian and half Venetian. I was a very blond kid, my hair turned brown as an adolescent and now I'm bald.
