It was fun for a Laurel Canyon minute, and then the daughter got filled up with Joni's relentless self-centeredness. (I'd imagine the daughter wanted some healing maternal love, and remorse, and Joni responded, "why, I've had a great life").

Mitchell is one of the best songwriters, and singers, of the 20th century. She'll be listened to long after most of her contemporaries are long forgotten.

With Michelle Phillips, I think it was that she had looked fine pretty recently at an awards show a couple of years ago.
