R48, that's what I thought too. There was a hilariously bizarre thread not that long ago with a poster questioning why Olivia brings up rape in every episode of SVU.

This episode doesn't really sound on brand for SVU - aren't they supposed to involved sexually based offenses (that are considered especially heinous?). Does SVU cover different types of crime too? It's been decades since I watched it.

Several seasons ago Olivia and Fin went into a prison undercover to investigate a corrupt guard, Olivia as a prisoner and Fin as a guard. The corrupt guard finally wasn't having any more of her attitude and took her into a basement room and tried to force her to suck his sizeable schlong. Fin broke into the room and saved her at the last second. Or did he? The way the scene was shot, it was very ambiguous. For many episodes Olivia kept denying she'd actually been raped but after many sessions with her fey therapist, she finally let admitted to herself she'd been violated and hasn't shut up about it since.

Years ago we had a "Let's Be SVU" thread that was hysterical. I wish I'd saved it.

Man, I miss the early seasons of this show. I can't say when exactly it jumped the shark, but it's unwatchable now. I actually felt embarrassed for everyone involved with that mess of a season premiere.

It's never been the same after Meloni left. I watched SVU religiously back then, but in the years since have only caught an episode if I was bored and had nothing else to watch. I've never liked Kelly Giddish, don't like her acting and her character is boring. I also miss Diane Neal and Stephanie March.
