I saw an interview where Buckley says she doesn't know LuPone that well.
LuPone of course has a grudge against Buckley because Buckley sings Meadowlark in concert and says it was written for her. (then she didn't get the role.)
LuPone asked her how she'd feel if she sang Memory, Buckley's biggest hit.
The odd thing about the squabble over who the song belongs to is odd since Carole Demas was the first star of The Baker's Wife and got to introduce the song I think.

When it was announced Betty would take over in Sunset in London Patti called Betty for well wishes. Betty supported Patti when she was fired. Betty has also reacted to Patti’s tweets. I don’t think they know each other well but professionally respect one another.
