ELECTION 2020 Part 7

It’s always darkest before the dawn.

Arizona now flipping to Trump.

by Anonymousreply 4November 4, 2020 6:08 PM

So no Arizona?

by Anonymousreply 5November 4, 2020 6:09 PM

Cheating on all levels in this election. Hillary was correct! Deplorables infest this county.

by Anonymousreply 6November 4, 2020 6:09 PM

Biden is now leading Michigan by nearly 50k votes.

by Anonymousreply 7November 4, 2020 6:10 PM

wait what the fuck happened in Arizona

by Anonymousreply 8November 4, 2020 6:10 PM

If he loses Arizona he will need PA or it's curtains.

by Anonymousreply 9November 4, 2020 6:10 PM

Reid Epstein, in Madison, Wis. 15m ago

The margin needs to be less than 1 percent for a recount in Wisconsin. Trump will have to pay about $3 million for it unless the margin is less than one quarter of 1 percent. See Wisconsin results ›

by Anonymousreply 10November 4, 2020 6:10 PM

so basically nothing flipped except the district in Nebraska?

by Anonymousreply 11November 4, 2020 6:10 PM

WI flipped, R11. AZ looks like it's flipped.

by Anonymousreply 12November 4, 2020 6:11 PM

R12 what about the update saying Arizona won't flip?

by Anonymousreply 13November 4, 2020 6:11 PM

Have you been paying attention r11?

Biden flipped Arizona, NE-02, Wisconsin and Michigan. He is winning dear.

by Anonymousreply 14November 4, 2020 6:11 PM

WTF is Data Orbital and who do they “work” for?

by Anonymousreply 15November 4, 2020 6:12 PM

I think "Latino" vote needs to be disbanded. Latino is not a race. There are Latinos who are white, black, Asian, Amerindian, mixed etc

it seems the majority of white Latinos vote with other whites to discriminate against non-whites

by Anonymousreply 16November 4, 2020 6:12 PM

AZ looking good!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 17November 4, 2020 6:12 PM

So depressing thinking about the next two years. Biden won’t be able to do shit. His cabinet won’t even be confirmed.

by Anonymousreply 18November 4, 2020 6:12 PM

Data Orbital?

by Anonymousreply 19November 4, 2020 6:12 PM

R14 OK someone just posted a link saying AZ was going to Trump. I didn't click on it hopefully that was wrong information

by Anonymousreply 20November 4, 2020 6:13 PM

I don’t think AZ is going to Trump.

by Anonymousreply 21November 4, 2020 6:13 PM

There is no update r13. Arizona has been called for Biden by AP and Fox. Other networks are being more patient, but there is no reason to think AP is wrong.

by Anonymousreply 22November 4, 2020 6:13 PM

So why is info about Arizona coming in saying different?

by Anonymousreply 23November 4, 2020 6:13 PM

It’s official. The cunt is going back to the senate.

by Anonymousreply 24November 4, 2020 6:13 PM

[quote]His cabinet won’t even be confirmed.

Never stopped 46-1.

by Anonymousreply 26November 4, 2020 6:13 PM

R18 then his admin can just operate with all "acting" roles like Trump has done for many of his positions

by Anonymousreply 27November 4, 2020 6:14 PM

R18 - then Biden can pull the same stunt that Trump has pulled - put in an Acting Secretary of whatever Department.

by Anonymousreply 28November 4, 2020 6:14 PM

R24, WHAT A DISASTER!!!!

by Anonymousreply 29November 4, 2020 6:15 PM

so no senate Dems will join Biden's admin because the senate margins are too slim.

by Anonymousreply 30November 4, 2020 6:15 PM

R18 Some reality. Having Biden appointees leading all departments in the Executive Branch is HUGE>

Having Donald Trump on TV only, not in the White House is HUGE.

There's a lot to be disappointed with, but there is sure as hell a lot to be happy about.

by Anonymousreply 31November 4, 2020 6:15 PM

Assuming Wisconsin is a win, AZ, NV, and MI would take him to 271, it looks like.

by Anonymousreply 33November 4, 2020 6:15 PM

A Biden DOJ is a very big deal. That's power.

by Anonymousreply 34November 4, 2020 6:15 PM

Good one!^^. Give Pigs some of their own medicine

by Anonymousreply 35November 4, 2020 6:16 PM

I wonder why Maine went for Biden and Collins

the only memorable times Collins went against the repub establishment were her votes against repealing AFA and against confirming Coney Barrett

by Anonymousreply 36November 4, 2020 6:16 PM

Susan Collins has won re-election

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 37November 4, 2020 6:16 PM

I can’t believe we didn’t win the Senate. That’s worst than not winning the Presidency, IMO.

by Anonymousreply 38November 4, 2020 6:16 PM

Never forget: a majority of Mainers voted for Paul LePage, a disgusting porcine proto-Deplorable.

So Sara Gideon had a long shot, at best.

by Anonymousreply 39November 4, 2020 6:16 PM

Maine and Iowa white trash old people states

by Anonymousreply 40November 4, 2020 6:17 PM

Biden can be President without PA.

That was the narrative before the election. Turned out to be true.

Just not having the satisfaction of a landslide is hard to stomach, and not having the Senate hurts.

by Anonymousreply 41November 4, 2020 6:17 PM

Sara Gideon managed to lose in Maine while joe Biden won. What the fuck? She must have been an awful candidate

by Anonymousreply 42November 4, 2020 6:17 PM

If Biden wins, as expected, is the Senate still lost? Because I’m seeing 4847 for the thugs. But Harris takes it to a tie. And then isn’t there yet hope of one of the Georgia runoff’s?

by Anonymousreply 43November 4, 2020 6:18 PM

Something that is going on remarked on is how strong Minnesota switched to blue. Clinton barely won Minnesota by 1.5pts, Biden dominated by 7 points.

by Anonymousreply 44November 4, 2020 6:18 PM

Unremarked*

by Anonymousreply 45November 4, 2020 6:18 PM

Who keeps stating DEms have lost the Senate? Cut it out!

by Anonymousreply 46November 4, 2020 6:18 PM

Self-Correction: a plurality of Mainers voted for Le Page (an almost majority the second time).

by Anonymousreply 47November 4, 2020 6:19 PM

[quote] I can’t believe we didn’t win the Senate. That’s worst than not winning the Presidency, IMO.

I don't know about that. I hate it when people always bring up Trump, apropos of nothing, but he's been a real downer. He's depressing to think about. It's like a black cloud.

by Anonymousreply 48November 4, 2020 6:19 PM

I hate to break it to you but we are looking at the GOP keeping control of the Senate r46.

by Anonymousreply 49November 4, 2020 6:19 PM

R44 MN has always had the highest voter turnout in the nation. I'm a little surprised at how much considering I thought BLM might turn off the suburbs.

by Anonymousreply 50November 4, 2020 6:20 PM

The polls were a failure in these state races. Across the board. Democrats got too cocky.

by Anonymousreply 51November 4, 2020 6:21 PM

Assuming Democrats have lost the Senate, the Republicans will have subpoena power in that chamber. Expect nonstop bullshit investigations of Biden starting Day 1.

by Anonymousreply 52November 4, 2020 6:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 53November 4, 2020 6:22 PM

by Anonymousreply 56November 4, 2020 6:22 PM

r34 This. I am so disappointed about the Senate if we end up losing, but if Joe wins we get rid of Trump and Barr. That at least saves the republic for four years. Getting rid of Trump was my #1 goal, because that gets rid of both he and his henchman. That's huge.

by Anonymousreply 57November 4, 2020 6:22 PM

Last year, in two different Lyft rides, the drivers, a black woman and a black man, didn't believe voter suppression is real. This was in LA.

I think major work needs to be put into educating people about voter suppression. Make it a huge issue for black people, like police violence. Add it to biopics and black TV shows. Add it to comedy acts, have pop artists sing about it. Cynically, you could say: "Make it something they can get angry over/resent/gripe about so they'll direct their attention and efforts to 'showing the man who's boss' in every future election."

by Anonymousreply 58November 4, 2020 6:23 PM

"Gideon concedes" only pulls up some BS Twitter account. I can't believe they wouldn't be breaking it.

by Anonymousreply 59November 4, 2020 6:23 PM

peters back in the game

by Anonymousreply 60November 4, 2020 6:23 PM

According to MSNBC, there are 7 uncalled races.

by Anonymousreply 61November 4, 2020 6:23 PM

Why is Gideon conceding?

Conceding is in the past. New game, new rules.

by Anonymousreply 62November 4, 2020 6:23 PM

They have lost the senate. They have no chance at a majority. If Gary peters loses, which looks likely, they will have better exactly 0 seats.

by Anonymousreply 63November 4, 2020 6:23 PM

OMG, Peters is pulling ahead in MI!!!!! Please GOD, save him. It's a tie now.

by Anonymousreply 64November 4, 2020 6:24 PM

Which means goodbye meaningful climate change legislation, goodbye meaningful health care legislation (especially if the ACA is overturned), goodbye legislative recourse if Roe v. Wade and Obergefell are overturned or badly weakened.

McConnell's entire M.O. is to do everything he can to prevent any major legislative win for the Democrats, even if that win is good for the American people.

by Anonymousreply 65November 4, 2020 6:24 PM

CNN is reporting the Senate is still up in the air

by Anonymousreply 66November 4, 2020 6:24 PM

We aren't taking about PA, but worth pointing out that Dems are confident and expect the final count to be a Biden win by 100k votes.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 67November 4, 2020 6:24 PM

Here's the main problem:

Repugs treat voters like they are fucking morons.

Dems treat voters like they are smart.

America is, at least, 75% moron. Dems need to learn it and start acting accordingly.

by Anonymousreply 68November 4, 2020 6:24 PM

R62, I agree. Gideon needs to sue. Say there's fraud. Smear the cunt as badly as she smeared Gideon on TV.

by Anonymousreply 69November 4, 2020 6:25 PM

So is that AZ Twitter a troll site? It’s bullshit right?

by Anonymousreply 70November 4, 2020 6:25 PM

GIdeon back in the game now due to lack of 50% by Collins per CNN

by Anonymousreply 71November 4, 2020 6:25 PM

R44, Ilhan Omar did a huge GOTV effort in the past week+. She didn't need it, she was heavily favored to win (despite the GOP attacks and pouring money into her district). It mostly helped Biden.

What's really odd is Biden winning ME but Collins holding onto her seat. Her numbers tanked after she claimed McConnell "tricked:" her on the tax cut, then plummeted after the Kavanaugh mess. If she really won it, something's wrong there.

by Anonymousreply 72November 4, 2020 6:26 PM

[quote]Assuming Democrats have lost the Senate, the Republicans will have subpoena power in that chamber.

My understanding is that ignoring subpoenas has become a popular and fashionable pastime in the Beltway.

by Anonymousreply 73November 4, 2020 6:26 PM

she said Collins told her. I call BS. she has to have 50%

by Anonymousreply 74November 4, 2020 6:26 PM

If she's back in it why is she conceding?

by Anonymousreply 75November 4, 2020 6:26 PM

R71 Is Susan starting to get concerned again?

by Anonymousreply 76November 4, 2020 6:26 PM

If I heard correctly, MSNBC said EIGHTY (could've been 18) per cent of mail in postal offices yesterday in Georgia has not been delivered. Nobody knows how many mail-in ballots are there.

by Anonymousreply 77November 4, 2020 6:27 PM

Gideon never conceded. FUCK people. don't get your news from twitter.

by Anonymousreply 78November 4, 2020 6:27 PM

R68 should be the game plan. Also no more pandering to youth votes with the climate change and trans shot that turns moderates off. Progressives and youth will NEVER show up.

by Anonymousreply 79November 4, 2020 6:27 PM

by Anonymousreply 80November 4, 2020 6:28 PM

I want to thank greedy DL for keeping so many of us who are not paid members from participating on Election Day. Real classy DL. Why do I have the feeling the owners of this website are GOP and were for Trump and McConnell. Democrats would let the people have their say, all the people.

by Anonymousreply 91November 4, 2020 6:31 PM

by Anonymousreply 92November 4, 2020 6:32 PM

Stop being such a fuckhead, R84. Twitter is a perfectly good source of information if the account is a real one.

You or someone like you was even screaming about someone linking to the official Twitter of the PA governor last night, because it was "just Twitter." That's ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 94November 4, 2020 6:32 PM

I'm disappointed that Lindsey Graham won. I am imagining a bitter, angry Trump in February, sitting at home in Florida watching his old buddies Mitch and Lindsey carrying on without him, not seeming to miss him that much. Maybe he'll be jealous enough that he spills what he knows about Lindsey.

Do you think he'll try to run again in 2024?

by Anonymousreply 106November 4, 2020 6:35 PM

Joe Biden’s Cabinet will be confirmed. And even if it wasn’t then Biden can appoint anyone on interim basis. But only for a short amount of time before they have to be confirmed. So the Republicans would have to eventually confirm.

Don’t be so sure that Biden won’t be able to get anything done. It works both ways because McConnell won’t be able to pass any of his corporate welfare Socialism to his oligarchy cronies without Biden’s signature.

Nevada is waiting on mail-in ballots. It could be up to a week, but there's no reason to believe that the ballots will break any differently than the current vote.

AZ is fine.

Peters is just 10,000 votes back in MI right now.

I really want Georgia.

[quote] A female friend related this to me in 2016: the day after the election one of her AA male colleagues came up to her and whispered to her, "I didn't realize they hated you more than they hated me."

Every woman knew that.

I saw some people last night saying 'I guess latino men are also prone to toxic masculinity' You guess? Prone? Straight men will always bond through their shared fear and loathing of women (while also being bitter women are not offering pussy to them), and their homophobia. Not sure how people could only be learning this in 2020. 'Cool black dude' is less threatening to white guys and swaggering white men earn points with black and latino men.

by Anonymousreply 114November 4, 2020 6:36 PM

Thank goodness primetime was in place to keep out some of the riffraff. Pay up you cheap whores.

by Anonymousreply 115November 4, 2020 6:36 PM

Watch out for bullshit media narratives, especially:

-Post-mortems about how various groups voted BEFORE THE TOTALS ARE IN (they do this every election and they always make huge mistakes that never get corrected)

-Concern trolling about how Biden and other Dems didn't win "enough" or lost despite winning. Bush II and Trump won by true razor-thin margins, Biden is on track to outperforming them, but he will never get the "mandate" treatment they got.

-Analysis that conveniently skips right over the gutting of the VRA, vote suppression, signs of interference, USPS and other ratfuckery and goes right to "wow, Trump is so loved!"

-Taking Trump's challenges at face-value no matter how legally unsound or otherwise ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 116November 4, 2020 6:36 PM

I went to sleep last night with everybody saying this is looking a lot like 2016. So dejected that we are losing and can't sleep. Had to take Ambien. Wako up this morning and learned Biden has a chance of winning felt all so surreal. Still is.

if we could just take 200,000 diehard liberals from Cali, Mass and NY and move them to North Carolina and Georgia we'd own the country

Vaughn Hillyard of NBC news says there are about 440k outstanding ballots in Arizona and they expect to find more on top of that, and Trump would have to win those remaining ballots by 61% to win AZ.

The Electoral College only makes sense if there were three (or more) strong candidates, and none of them garnered more that 50% of the vote (last example 1992). I'm thinking the Founding Fathers never imagined this ugly two-party, red-state, blue-state crap. Popular vote should rule in a democracy, but one can imagination a scenario where something else might have to kick in to decide an election. .

Dems aren't leaving California because they want to expand the electoral map. They're moving because it's too expensive to live there now. You're either really really rich, or dirt poor.

That's the new talking point in potential future battleground states. They're trying to scare their states from turning blue. Warning that California is a blue state and its leaders have ruined their constituents lives, so they're leaving California and moving to other states. And if left unchecked, those new people/voters will turn those states into a blue, socialist mess like California.

I have tricks in Texas who tell me things.

How hard is to realize that 'packing' is an attack label of the right wing? And they shouldn't use it in statements?

Joe and Chuck, when a reporter asks you about packing the court, you never repeat the word. - or at the very least you stick it back on the Rethugs. Use your own PR-friendly label, if needs be. Enforce same discipline in the Dem caucus and send word to state houses.

Or just hire top PR people and get them to work.

Well now we know. We know what we are dealing with. We know now it wasn't just Hillary. We know Trumpism has overtaken the Republican party. We know who and what we will be up against in 2022/2024. The polls suggested that Trump would be ousted decisively and the Republican would cut ties with him and move back to the center. That influenced what we focused on and how we campaigned.

And one observation. I finally watch Trump's speech from last night with the audio on and he's gasping for air between sentences. WTF.

ABC News has projected that Trump will win Maine’s final electoral vote, from the 2nd Congressional District, bringing his total to 214 to Biden’s 227. Maine’s other electoral votes — two based on the statewide vote and one based on the results in the 1st District, went to Biden. Trump also won Maine’s 2nd District in 2016.

We can only hope that once Trump is out of the picture, his influence over the Republican Party will also go away.

I have a feeling that many of the Trump voters were voting for the Party and not the candidate. I know some people who'd rather put up with 4 more years of Trump than to put a Democrat in the office.

R280 Me too. I tend to be overly empathetic and a real bleeding heart but I'm afraid at a certain point people have to help themselves. I'm done worrying about covid actually. We're crushed it here, only 17 active cases and we never had a death. The cities I plan to visit in 2021 are blue cities that contained the virus. If the virus rips through the red states and takes out some of them as they go for 'herd immunity' so be it.

And I assume they will not want to take the vaccine from Joe if he wins. Fine. Don't care. Listen, life is pretty good in the blue states. I often weigh up moving back home to the UK but all in all life is good in a blue state and frankly it's much easier for me to avoid shitty people here than back home. I trust that people here will take the vaccine and continue to take precautions. If idiots in red states want to play roulette with a virus then let them.

I really do think he can get 2-3 Repub votes on certain issues and I also think he will compromise. It may not be what people like us would want but right now I will take some compromise to get something done. Obama could never build a relationship with congress, he was too cold and aloof.

I do think Harris will be a great asset to Joe. She has skills and talents that he doesn't have and a 'bite' that he doesn't have. I know she's loathed here but I binged hours of interviews with her (thanks furlough) and I think it was the best pick.

The maps and margins look exactly like they *should* have in 2016. And Biden ran on almost the exact same centrist platform and proposals as Hillary. And pulled slightly more votes from the same demographic groups than she did.

So if there's anything to learn from 2020, it's that a presidential candidate's strongest advantage is to not have a vagina.

by Anonymousreply 357November 4, 2020 8:13 PM

Democrats are going to have to find some way to win back some rural and midsized town voters. They can’t build a lasting coalition based on wealthier suburban voters. The suburbs have leaned more Democratic in the last 3 elections because some female voters there don’t like Trump, but they’d vote for a Romney again in a heartbeat.

Here in Ohio, it looks like Trump flipped Mahoning Co (Youngstown) for the first time since Nixon in 72. Democrats can’t hope to put together a reliable winning majority with just big urban areas and college towns. I hope the closeness of this election (plus the horrific beating Dems took down ballot) will prompt some soul searching for national Democrats about the party’s messaging and policies going forward.

by Anonymousreply 393November 4, 2020 8:26 PM

The Trump voters I know (my family) do not like him but think he was good for the economy. Simple as that. The BLM stuff doesn’t even matter to them. I also know Venezuelans who voted for him because of Chavez.

by Anonymousreply 394November 4, 2020 8:26 PM

Looking at Georgia, there is still alot of vote to come in from strong Biden counties.

Not to be a concern troll but Nate Silver's tweets about AZ make me a little nervous:

[quote]Trump needs to win the remaining AZ votes by something like 20-25% depending on how many ballots there are. By party registration, late-arriving mail votes were something like +19% R, per my (quick) calculations.

[quote]With that said, there are some reasons to think the late-arriving ballots would be less R than you'd gather from party ID. For one thing, the early arriving mail ballots went more heavily for Biden than party ID would suggest, perhaps reflecting his edge amount independents.

To my anxious mind it seems like 19 vs. 20% is cutting it pretty close...but I'm trying to stay positive. Pennsylvania is also still a possibility.

by Anonymousreply 396November 4, 2020 8:27 PM

I wouldn't be that worried r393, the outstanding vote in Nevada is largely from Clark County.

by Anonymousreply 397November 4, 2020 8:28 PM

Hillary won NV, should come in for Biden.

I'm curious. Did they also think Obama was good for the economy? Did they vote for Obama in 2008 and 2012? Obama cut unemployment in half, saved the auto industry, and shrank the deficit. And the stock market rose steadily while he was in office. Yet many Trumpers seem to think that Obama ruined the economy and Trump brought it back to life.

November 2020 . . . . . . .

The sky was so blue that day, and the fragrance of freshly baked cinnamon rolls wafted through the air.

And you will always remember where you were the day Donald Trump was defeated.

by Anonymousreply 414November 4, 2020 8:35 PM

The thing about people who automatically vote R for the economy is that trickle down economics and the top 30% living well while the rest can just go learn to code... is that it makes life really ugly and unpleasant for everyone. Ok you have a 6 figure income or your 401K is great but your parks are run over with homeless people, you can't leave anything if your car or you're looking at a smash and grab. You have to walk through tent cities to take your kids to a game. You have to deal with the mentally ill on the streets. You have to buy in a gated community to feel safe from the hungry and desperate. And all the while the lack of a safety net means you're just watching the next generation of hopeless people growing up before your eyes.

I am absolutely willing to be more tax to have a safer, cleaner, more 'friendly' world. I find $3,000/month for a studio while the mentally ill and addicts defecate outside the lobby to be a miserable way to live for everyone. If that makes me a commie so be it.

They're both right. Silver was talking about the difference between the Trump and Biden vote percentage, so a 60-40 split, overall, would be a "win by 20%."

by Anonymousreply 421November 4, 2020 8:40 PM

are deplorables trying to do what happened in Florida 2000 via Roger Stone?

by Anonymousreply 422November 4, 2020 8:43 PM

Thanks R421, if that's what he's saying then he's really bad at communicating.

The direct quote is "Trump needs to win the remaining AZ votes by something like 20-25% depending on how many ballots there are."

But he does follow it up with saying Repub votes were only +19 in previous mail-in ballots so I guess he meant that the remaining ballots would need to be +20 or higher.

by Anonymousreply 423November 4, 2020 8:43 PM

These days, they really do operate in a separate reality. If your only news comes from Breitbart, OANN, Fox, HotAir, Gateway Pundit, RedState, etc., then yeah, you really do believe that Trump has been absolutely fucking awesome for the economy. "Lowest black unemployment ever!!!!" "Highest stock market ever!!!!"

It's the same shit around the pandemic: "Trump saved over a million lives with his prompt action!!!!" "Trump's action to stop travel from China was amazingly effective and Democrats tried to stop it by calling it racist!!!!" "94% of those 230,000 deaths were really caused by something else!!!!"

None of it is true, of course, but you simply cannot get through to them when they're force-fed so much bullshit on a daily basis.

by Anonymousreply 434November 4, 2020 8:46 PM

Yes R403. I have a family member who was the last standing countywide elected Democrat in a rural county in Ohio. He got wiped out last night thanks to Trump’s overwhelming victory. It’s hard to win rural voters in a statewide contest when you don’t have any local elected officials in those areas. The last time Democrats elected a governor in Ohio he was from rural Appalachian Scioto County and won over that part of the state. Democrats are murdering off their farm team outside of cities by just conceding rural areas to the GOP.

Uber and Lyft have always been selfish outliers - both the company and its customers. Customers know that there is little regulation for drivers and for its operations. They don't care that it is helping to destroy the regular taxi industry which is regulated for the safety of the public.

I hope Democrats have learned that in the future they need to spend their money on voter data platforms and GOTV operations rather than archaic TV ads. Even radio is far more effective than TV. [quote]In the first indication that the Senate is willing to accept a Biden victory, moments ago Senate Majority Leader McConnell - in a notable change in tone - said a new COVID-19 aid bill is still needed by the end of 2020, and it is possible that there is a "possibility" the Senate will concede on the key Democratic demand of help for state and local governments.

[quote]Moments prior to this, he said that "claiming you win the election is different from finishing the counting."

[quote]While markets remain too dazed to care, this suggests at two things: i) McConnell will concede to Democratic demands suggesting he won't back Trump in forcefully challenging the election outcome and ii) rumors of the reflation trade's death may have been greatly exaggerated.

OMG almost over!!!! 😆😆😆😆

by Anonymousreply 517November 4, 2020 9:32 PM

So AK and NC are the only likely EV gains for Trump now?

by Anonymousreply 518November 4, 2020 9:33 PM

Now that Michigan has been called, the next thing to look out for is the Arizona vote release at 9pm.

by Anonymousreply 519November 4, 2020 9:34 PM

R501 the Fox News division is Center/right but generally sane.

by Anonymousreply 520November 4, 2020 9:34 PM

I take back all my negative comments. Biden looks to have this.

AZ tonight? NV tomorrow?

by Anonymousreply 523November 4, 2020 9:36 PM

r500, I hope when NV and AZ come in and Trump sees PA won't help him, maybe he will just back off the stupid lawsuits and PA votes can come in.

by Anonymousreply 524November 4, 2020 9:36 PM

No takesy backsies. They will remain on your record.

by Anonymousreply 525November 4, 2020 9:36 PM

Is AZ still a possibility for Trump? Thought it was already called.

by Anonymousreply 527November 4, 2020 9:37 PM

Possibly, R523. We're supposed to get a couple of updates this evening from Arizona and an update tomorrow from Nevada.

It's technically possible, albeit highly unlikely, for Biden to lose one or both, and there does seem to be some confusion about Arizona, in particular, but the odds are still with Biden for both of those states as well as Pennsylvania.

by Anonymousreply 528November 4, 2020 9:38 PM

NV said Thursday morning earlier

by Anonymousreply 529November 4, 2020 9:38 PM

By the way, the market is up up today.

by Anonymousreply 530November 4, 2020 9:38 PM

AZ is done. Twitter is blowing up with people either thanking or attacking Cindy McCain.

by Anonymousreply 531November 4, 2020 9:39 PM

Trump has no one to blame but himself for Arizona. The way he attacked McCain alive and dead was horrible.

by Anonymousreply 532November 4, 2020 9:40 PM

joe biden has huge lead in Arizona. Biden won Arizona. I do not think they made it official yet though.

by Anonymousreply 533November 4, 2020 9:40 PM

[quote]Is AZ still a possibility for Trump? Thought it was already called.

A couple of news organizations have called it; others have declined to do so.

by Anonymousreply 534November 4, 2020 9:40 PM

I'll settle for tie in the Senate since VP Kamala can break it

by Anonymousreply 535November 4, 2020 9:40 PM

Hasn't Joe won even without NV? That's 270 with MI?

by Anonymousreply 536November 4, 2020 9:40 PM

The reason that some news organizations are reluctant to call Arizona is that only 86% of the vote is in. Trump needs to win the remaining votes there by something like 20 percentage points, which is why Fox is standing by their prediction.

by Anonymousreply 537November 4, 2020 9:41 PM

You have to hand it to the Biden campaign. They ignored the twitter advice and remained dead focused on “the big three” MI, WI, and PA and Biden will win because of it. Despite Beto queening out all over the place, Texas was never happening. Biden campaign knew that.

by Anonymousreply 538November 4, 2020 9:41 PM

No r536.

He needs Nevada or PA to win (if we count AZ as a done deal)

by Anonymousreply 539November 4, 2020 9:41 PM

I would like to do the math with Brian Sims. We'll start with the Wiener Measure, then the ASS Postulate.

by Anonymousreply 540November 4, 2020 9:42 PM

Eric and Rudy are at a Pennsylvania rally and FOX is carrying it.

They're claiming FRAUD!

by Anonymousreply 541November 4, 2020 9:42 PM

Eric Trump and Rudi, two idiots, whining in Phili PA. Lawsuit coming. PA doesn’t matter if Joe takes other two.

by Anonymousreply 542November 4, 2020 9:42 PM

GO JOE GO!!!

Imagine how well he'd be doing with a good running mate.

by Anonymousreply 543November 4, 2020 9:42 PM

No, R536, it’s still a few more. But during his speech, Biden sounded very confident about PA. He sounded like he knew. So either way, Trump go bye bye.

by Anonymousreply 544November 4, 2020 9:42 PM

What part of PA did Brian Sims represent?

by Anonymousreply 545November 4, 2020 9:43 PM

WaPo map shows MI 98% counted, Mighty Joe with 67K lead.

by Anonymousreply 546November 4, 2020 9:43 PM

This is what 538 says about Arizona and why it's not quite as dead certain a lock as the Wisconsin and Michigan calls were:

Arizona. We may need to do a longer post on Arizona later. What’s left to count is mostly mail votes that were returned late in the process — on Monday or Tuesday. There’s some ambiguity about how many ballots this actually is; Edison Research seems to think around 450,000. If so, Trump would need to win those votes by 21 points to overtake Biden’s current 93,000-vote lead. They’re disrupted [sic] fairly evenly throughout the state.

Wait — outstanding mail votes? Shouldn’t those be good for Biden, as in other states? Well, not necessarily, because Republicans have a fairly strong mail voting program in Arizona and — this is the key part — the mail ballots that were returned later in the process (the ones yet to be continued) were significantly redder than the ones that came in earlier on, as Democrats sent their votes in early. For instance, the party registration of the votes that came in Monday and Tuesday were: 23 percent Democratic, 44 percent Republican, and 33 percent independent or other parties. That is to say, a 21-point GOP edge, which would put Trump on track to tie things up.

But … here’s the bad news for Trump. Party registration may be a misleading indicator in Arizona. It has a lot of ancestral Republicans who have now turned into swing voters. Biden also had a big lead among independents in polls. And earlier batches of mail ballots were considerably stronger for Biden than party registration alone would suggest. So probably these ballots are going to come in more for Trump than for Biden, but not as strongly as he needs.

There’s also the fact that two other news organizations, the Associated Press and Fox News, have called the state for Biden. I’d assume they’ve put more work into looking into this than I have, so that shifts my priors a bit, but you never know and you will get incorrect calls occasionally. Overall, I’d say this is Likely Biden but I don’t think the state should have been called yet.

by Anonymousreply 547November 4, 2020 9:43 PM

R298, You are correct. Not only did he do what you described, not one single Wall Street type went to jail under Eric Holder. Fuck, Bush I took people to fucking jail for the S&L fiasco. Obama? Not a peep. This was part of the groundwork for a Trump type fucking nut job to capture the insane from 8 years of the big collapse.

Now we have Pelosi and Schumer. Both should be put out to pasture. Like as soon as possible. Also, the DNC head needs to be replaced now.

by Anonymousreply 548November 4, 2020 9:43 PM

FOX just claimed that Biden is at 264 electoral. They even broke into this Trump/Giulianni presser to tell us!

by Anonymousreply 549November 4, 2020 9:44 PM

R541, Why are they having a rally, voting is over. Is that a “let’s have a riot and break things” rally?

by Anonymousreply 550November 4, 2020 9:44 PM

R541 Fox trying to give Trump a moment. CNN on tv and Fox and other con media sites with my laptop just to enjoy this moment, how they try to explain what is happening.

by Anonymousreply 551November 4, 2020 9:45 PM

R550 They're rallying to claim FRAUD!

by Anonymousreply 552November 4, 2020 9:45 PM

Important to note that if Biden wins PA, which is the prevailing belief, he could lose Arizona and Nevada and still win.

Biden has a couple paths to victory.

by Anonymousreply 553November 4, 2020 9:45 PM

R549 Golden moment! Imagine what Fox viewers are thinking! Lol

by Anonymousreply 554November 4, 2020 9:46 PM

R552, but what kind of people go to an event like that before the election is even called, other than rabble rousers? Nobody but the people windows were boarded up for. Everyone else is at home watching the news.

by Anonymousreply 555November 4, 2020 9:47 PM

Arizona is a completely different animal. It has deep republic party roots in a Goldwater tradition. The state is generally liberal socially compared to say Idaho or some other nut job state. Biden will hold.

by Anonymousreply 556November 4, 2020 9:48 PM

If he wins NV and AZ, Biden has 270.

If Trump gets PA, GA, NC and Alaska, he will have 269. Right?

by Anonymousreply 557November 4, 2020 9:48 PM

I hope this is the last public speech Rudi will be giving. He lost. Turn around and don’t come back.

by Anonymousreply 558November 4, 2020 9:49 PM

[quote] If he wins NV and AZ, Biden has 270.

by Anonymousreply 562November 4, 2020 9:51 PM

I think this was biden's last plan...

Sue trump in Florida about cheating. But biden does not have to because he won the other states. If trump demands a recount in a state, biden can say okay, I want a recount in Florida (or another state where they suppressed the vote.) But the SCOTUS is nutjobing now, so he could have lost this. The ruling would have pissed people off.

It is looking good for biden. A clear win. Now, when is trump going to shut the fuck up and leave?

by Anonymousreply 563November 4, 2020 9:51 PM

I can't wait to listen to a press conference by the president of the United States and not hear outrageous lies.

Trump has lost Arizona. Biden has a huge lead. They just are not making it official, until the trump lawyers shut the fuck up.

by Anonymousreply 566November 4, 2020 9:53 PM

No, R557. There are 538 in total. You need 270 to win. If Biden gets exactly 270, Trump got 268.

by Anonymousreply 567November 4, 2020 9:53 PM

The counties left to count in Arizona and Nevada have a huge Mexican-American Democratic demographic. Nevada and Arizona look very possible for Biden.

I wish GA and PA were also coming along, but if it's not to be. We still win with a combination of MI/WI/NV/AZ

by Anonymousreply 568November 4, 2020 9:54 PM

r561, Nevada's law allows mail in ballots to be post market by election day, so some could still be coming in the mail. They have to nov. 10th to certify their votes.

by Anonymousreply 569November 4, 2020 9:54 PM

AP called AZ HOURS ago. I don’t know why others (except, apparently, Fox News according to a post above) are so reluctant to.

by Anonymousreply 570November 4, 2020 9:54 PM

Trump tried to throw out a bunch of mail in ballots in NV. The Supreme court of NV had to step in, and they ruled NO. Trump lost NV.

by Anonymousreply 573November 4, 2020 9:56 PM

When will PA be called? Someone posted they were accepting mail in ballots until Friday.

by Anonymousreply 574November 4, 2020 9:56 PM

But it sounds like PA is unlikely for dump

by Anonymousreply 575November 4, 2020 9:56 PM

by Anonymousreply 576November 4, 2020 9:57 PM

My only fear about Nevada is how hard Las Vegas has been hit by the pandemic.

by Anonymousreply 577November 4, 2020 9:57 PM

You couldn't ask for a better demonstration of what a hot load of garbage the Trump campaign is than the events of the last 24 hours. A desperate run to the courts ON ELECT ION DAY before the polls even close to stop counting votes for no reason in NV which is immediately smacked down by the judge. Trying to slap down Fox News for calling AZ only to be openly laughed at by them. Trying to gin up another Brooks Brothers riot in MI to stop the vote count hours after Biden has the lead and would only benefit from it. And now screaming fraud in PA when it's looks as though Biden doesn't even need it.

This is such a fucking farce. And instead of post-mortems on the stupidity of attacking McCain or stacking your reelection team with grifters and idiots, all the press will talk about is how Biden's historic win just isn't *enough.*

by Anonymousreply 578November 4, 2020 9:57 PM

CNN and MSNBC are projecting 253 electoral votes for Biden and FOX has it at 264!!

by Anonymousreply 579November 4, 2020 9:57 PM

Nevada is now saying they are hoping to have an update tonight!!!!

This election is now looking like it could be called later tonight.

by Anonymousreply 580November 4, 2020 9:57 PM

Yes, with Arizona and Nevada Biden is at 270. He wins. We don’t need Pennsylvania or Georgia. But if he gets PA he’s at 290. If he gets both he’s at 306.

Bottom line: He is likely the next President of the United States.

by Anonymousreply 581November 4, 2020 9:58 PM

Trump doesn't have NC just yet. They are still accepting mail ballots, and the number expected is larger than Trump's current lead. So it could come down to just how many show up.

Hopefully since Biden won't need NC, the USPS will just go ahead and deliver them, even if DeJoy doesn't like it.

by Anonymousreply 582November 4, 2020 9:58 PM

AZ has 600,000 votes to count.

Why are people so sure about NV?

by Anonymousreply 590November 4, 2020 10:01 PM

Must kill Trump that Joe has more votes than any other Pres in history

by Anonymousreply 610November 4, 2020 10:15 PM

Donald Trump - the man who would not be king.

by Anonymousreply 611November 4, 2020 10:23 PM

Last night I dreamt Joe Biden was my father. I just found out he was my father when he showed up in my apartment to kill me. He was going to kill me & my sister with drug overdoses. He had spread the rumor we were drug users & was going to OD us with fentanyl. My sister is a Trumpster, so I figured I wouldn’t tell her of Joe’s plan, but then I looked at her & she wasn’t my real life sister so I thought “Since she’s not my real sister, maybe she’s a good person. Maybe I should try to warn her.”

There was also a war going on. Then I had to poop & was sitting on a toilet but there was no door to the bathroom. I couldn’t go because of embarrassment & was getting a stomach ache. I was also trying to hide from Joe, who was just around the corner with a syringe. Then I heard Joe also had an illegitimate child too. I was so angry that I could’ve been brought up in the lap of DC luxury if I’d known all my life that I was Joe’s legitimate child, but it was hidden from me. And now he wanted to kill me. I could’ve been someone.

I could hear shooting outside my building but did t know which side it was. I realized I didn’t know which side I was on & which side was which anyway. Was I going to die by Joe, or die by enemy gunfire, only to find out it was friendly fire after I’d been shot?

I drank a bottle of champagne and ate my leftover Halloween candy last night while reading election results (I don’t watch tv “news”:at election time. It’s too stupid.). I buy full sized candy bars, too. So it was quite a good deal of chocolate. Also had chips. So I had too much sweet, salty & fizzy stuff. Good thing I don’t watch tv election coverage or who knows what I may have dreamt

by Anonymousreply 612November 4, 2020 10:34 PM

r609, I think they only need two

right now they are at 46 + AZ and MI = 48.

Left of the 4 are NC, 2 Georgia and (AR - not happening.)

One run off already in Georgia looks good, another run off is possible. NC slim chance.

But only need two to tie it up. Now they have the VP.

by Anonymousreply 613November 4, 2020 10:36 PM

Alaska has the senate seat not given yet to republicans don't know why, no AR.

I don't think we can control the senate but we could very well get the the run off from Georgia and with the Independents that caucus with the dems, can be at 49-51 and if ONE republican moves over for a vote then we can break a tie.
