Eminem endorses Joe Biden
A white rapper not exactly known for being progressive has endorsed Biden while many famous black rappers (Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, Kanye, 50 Cent) have decided to side with Trump. Fits that it's happening in 2020.

Celebrity endorsements are a double-edged sword, easily turning off longtime fans. Why jeopardize your career with something that has nothing to do with your performance?

Really strong ad. What surprised me were some of the Twitter comments. Trump gets a lot of support from people who just think it's cool that he's an asshole

One of the most upvoted pro Trump comments under his tweet is from an American! He's Israeli. Another one is in Cuba and unlikely a US citizen as all tweets are from Cuba. LOL Makes you wonder how much of the online Trump support is from guys not even eligible to vote here.

My favorite Biden ad and Eminem has long been progressive. He's one of those troubled types who is fairly decent deep down and probably would have turned out much differently given better parenting and circumstance.

I wouldn't be hailing him as a perfect progressive hero any time but compared to many from his background and indeed his current reality, he is more progressive and has by all accounts been a good father to his daughter and the two girls he adopted. One his ex-wife's with another man.

If Joe Biden rejected an endorsement from Richard Spencer, then he should reject this one. That is, if he has any principles at all.

Yes but I would rather have those types in the Dem party and in progressive politics where they might be convinced to change and if not at least they do far less harm than if they were Trumpsters and Repubs who will vote in people who will roll back our rights.

Eminem apologized for using homophobic slurs, and seems to be close to Elton John. I blame the environment in which he was raised. I’m actually not convinced that he is straight.

Oh, ladies. This is an awesome, awesome campaign ad. Can you not separate out the flaw of the person, for one second, from the bigger picture of the communal goal?
The problem with some of you fags is that you are bound up with being a victim. You have a victim mentality. You will cling to every slight, every wrong, and it doesn't matter how long ago or if the perp changes or grows over time...you will cling, and wallow, because you yourself cannot move on from being a fucking victim. You get off on it. It's all you know how to do to make yourself feel important or special or "above."
The fact is, we are all human, fallible, mistake-making creatures. Life is about making mistakes and learning and then waking up. If you really want equality, you have to stop sounding the victim alarm and just BE A NORMAL PERSON. Not a fragile SJW. And then let others grow and evolve in their own way and in their own time.
I don't give a SHIT if Eminem mimicked the homophobia he grew up around when he was younger. It happens. Slim Shady doesn't owe me anything. I don't need his validation. There are a lot of ignorant people in the world, and guess what? They indoctrinate their children. Eminem's approval of me and my lifestyle means nothing to me. But if he feels inspired to contribute to getting Trump out, I'm going to support the fuck out of that. It's great.
FWIW, Eminem has shown a lot of growth and evolution since he came on the scene. Human beings are still in their toddler years in terms of evolution of the consciousness, but we're getting there. He's a smart guy, he's not stupid. He doesn't ever act out the way he did when he was on drugs and young and dumb. I can forgive. That's what MLK said to do. Hate begets more hate. Love begets more love. If you can't get with that, then YOU are just as much of the problem as the people by whom you feel so victimized.

Eminem IS SO known for being progressive.
Eminem has been endorsing Democratic candidates vociferously since 2004.
His homophobia / spousal abuse aside, he supports progressive politicians. And he defended gays in 8 MILE.

Eminem said this in 2017:
"I have no issue with someone’s sexuality, religion, race, none of that,” he explained. “Anyone who’s followed my music knows I’m against bullies — that’s why I hate that fucking bully Trump — and I hate the idea that a kid who’s gay might get shit for it.”
And then there's this from 2018:

Well Boris, it's because in this country, unlike Russia, people live by certain ethical vales they believe in. Even if that involves sacrifice of money or fame.

But in the 11th hour it feels like these last minute endorsements are just a celebs way of trying to look like they were on the right side of the winning team. Where were they 2 months ago?

The OP, who is likely our war room political troll and not a common DL'er, is an idiot. Eminem has pandered to black people for years. It's how he makes his money. PLaying like he's a self-loathing white guy. This asshole grew up as trailer park white trash. He likely loathes black people. He's just into, and good at rap. And all his blathering on politics and racism is simply his marketing. It's deflecting attention away from him from the people who buy his shitty music.
The OP or anyone else who thinks this is some upstanding, Jane Fonda-level "progressive", is an asshole. Inside that voting booth, M&M is voting for Donald Trump. I would bet my dog on it.

All these wealthy celebrities are endorsing Biden. What makes poor and middle class people think he is for them, then? He said he was going to tax people who make over $400,000, which all these celebrities do. They are not going to want to give up their money. It's proof that Biden is all just talk and no action. He isn't really going to tax the rich. He just says the right things he knows will get him votes. I feel bad for people he cons into believing his lies. At least you can believe what Trump says.

Complaining about rich straight white liberals is just more deplorable propaganda. Wealth needs to be forcibly re-distributed into the hands of rich straight white liberals where it belongs. This is not one of them.

Oh, and by the way, Jane Fonda supports Joe Biden. So does Angela Davis. The problem with Trump accusing Biden of communism in no uncertain terms that he acts like it’s a bad thing. Joe Biden should’ve said, “yeah, I support communism because communism means helping and sharing and sharing is caring. So what?”

A LOT of Democrats, especially men, are anti gay
I worked in a heavily minority area , a manager at a supermarket, and I would hear anti gay stuff all the time, not directed towards me but in general
Lots of Mom's smacking their two year old son's and screaming, "Quit crying boy, don't be acting like no faggot!"
For some bizarre reason, gay men are hellbent on ONLY thinking Trump loving , Christian white Republicans are anti gay
When the reality is it couldn't be further from the truth
Hell I have two family members who voted for Trump who are atheists and have no problems with gay people/gay rights etc.

R48?
There's your answer @R52. I'm sure the Biden campaign wanted to avoid the worst of the celebrity Hillary supporters in 2016. But just a few days before Election Day, no doubt the campaign said "Let 'er rip, Beyonce, Em, Gaga, etc.,"
At this point any "undecided" who claims a last-minute celebrity Biden endorsement made them switch their vote to Trump? They're LYING.
But it may sway a few nonvoters to brave the lines and vote for Joe.
