A young John Stamos. I dated a guy in Boston that looked just like him, his name was John as well. There were a lot of guys that were Portugese, Greek and Italian that lived just outside the city that were breathtakingly beautiful- that dark, swarthy look with delicate features, dark hair and pale skin.
I married one too.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 31, 2020 4:43 PM |
Rupert Graves in "Maurice." Just breathtaking.
Runner up is Aldis Hodge is "What Men Want". He looks really hot with a beard.

There was a guy in NYC club scene in the late 90’s that was so breathtakingly beautiful I couldn’t look at him. I went to Twilo and saw him across the dance floor the first time and had to look away he was so beautiful. I had come with a boyfriend and quickly forgot all about him, making excuses to go back over and peek at the other guy. That relationship didn’t last much longer after that.

Say what you will about his aging, his look, his acting, etc., there was nobody who had more masterful love affair with the camera in his early years than Daniel Day-Lewis.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | October 31, 2020 6:47 PM |
As a kid, I thought Peter Barton (The Powers of Matthew Starr) was the most beautiful man on TV.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | October 31, 2020 6:49 PM |
Brando was more handsome than Delon but I nominated Delon because the criteria was "beautiful". I'm not a great fan of Delon the man or the actor (over age 40). Brando had a delicateness and prettiness in his face and even his movements, I will agree, but mostly he was handsome and had an animal masculinity. And that body. Sometimes its about the roles. Delon was slight, small, but had the panther presence, and you could see the street thug/hustler peeking out. Comes together beautifully in some of his early roles such as Plein Soleil and Rocco. His face was good for the camera - it had different shapes and moods defending how it was captured.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | October 31, 2020 6:55 PM |
R60 I know most of the world doesn't agree with me, but I never quite understood those who thought Brando was the most beautiful man alive. He had magnetism, clearly. But his face always looked incomplete, too rounded... like it had been taken out of the mold too soon and melted a bit.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | October 31, 2020 7:02 PM |
R61 Great description. Paul Newman's face seemed more complete.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | October 31, 2020 7:05 PM |
Exactly, something "refreshingly" sexy about Newman's crisp and youthful bones.... Harris Dickinson is the actor currently who has that quality... but needs just a touch of pain and darkness to add to the "pretty" he's been given. Newman had both.

Alain Delon was a very small man in stature. His body was nothing to write home about same as Paul Newman. I think beautiful men need to look like men. They need to have a masculine body and some kind of height.

R90, masculine is an adjective that is usually reserved to describe a man. A man that is shorter and smaller in stature can look more feminine overall. And he must have a well defined faced with preferably chiseled features. He must also have a beautiful face ....square jaw and cleft chin are a plus.... along with a tall well proportioned body....think Cary Grant.

Keanu Reeves in Point Break. This is the film where both gay men and straight women shouted "FUCK ME!" at the screen (or secretly wanted to) whenever Keanu is gracing the screen with his hot presence. There is not a movie with this sort of male beauty worship, both face and body, in the history of cinema. Not one bad angle or shot of this beautiful man at peak hotness. And again, I'm confused by the number of folk in these threads who always hyperventilate about Chad Everett. Thick... mentally, waist, neck, skull....puffy from drink and bad food... always looks like he has bad breath.

Harrison Ford- All the way back from his younger days up until 1989. Just something about him including his devastating physical beauty turned me on, especially the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" era. I've told this story before, but at five years old, seeing Ford as Han Solo in the original "Star Wars", I knew I liked guys. Then around the time of "Working Girl", I saw an interview where he ran his hand over his head, smiled, and said, "I know. I'm a good looking son of a bitch aren't I?" It wasn't a joke. The arrogance! I was done. Of course, now he looks like a reanimated corpse thanks to age, drinking, and a bad attitude, but I still love Han and Indy.
Recent men, I'd have to say Henry Cavill- He's very nice to look at, and I just enjoy him for that.

There are two guys I can think of that took my breath away when I first saw them on screen.
One of them was already mentioned above, the guy from "Cinema Paradiso".
The other was also Italian, Valerio Foglia Manzillo.
He was a model who made a few movies in the 2000's. The one I first saw him in was "L'imbalsamatore", in which he plays a dumb, clueless hunk who gets targeted and preyed upon by an ugly, creepy older dwarf-like guy who becomes obsessed with him.
I normally don't go for model types, but at the time I thought this guy was exquisite.

John Gavin was married to actress Constance Towers (she of the perpetually evil and horny helena cassidine on "general hospital" soap opera)....
lucky lady! got to have gavin between her legs for years and years and on that soap opera got to play "make believe" in one storyline and episodes of trying to have blackmail sex with sex on a stick character jax jasper (the young ingo rademacher! major sigh!) ... alot of dirty innuendo talk, looks and making out between the two happened on that soap! ( too bad the two never had screw)...at the time? constance in real life was 67 (this was back in the year 2000) and ingo rademacher was ONLY 29! that's a 38 year difference! making out heavy with someone old enough to be his grandmother! so damn hot it was!...
and ingo back at that time was GORGEOUS!!!!..

I looked up Jon Erik Hexum and went through a lot of his photos. My impression is meh, don’t get me wrong he’s handsome but in a generic 1990s catalog model kind of way. The deep brows/ low eyebrows take away some of his beauty as well.

I wouldn't call him "the most beautiful man," but I found his features to be transfixing. His eyes are definitely asiatic and his facial structure looks Japanese to me, but he'd obviously be classified as Caucasian in the U.S.

For a time, I thought this gay pinup model from the early 2000s was the most beautiful, but beauty is fleeing and so are tastes. After him, Ian Somerhalder was my fixation. R398 Do you not think most of the ancients had scrawny bodies? There may have been some Olympian athletes who were bodybuilders, but they didn't have crossfit and protein shakes back then. They were either scrawny because they didn't have a ton to eat and had to labor manually, a little paunchy if they were older and ruling class, or else at best, younger ones might have been built like Michelangelo's David--who was more Paul Newman body than overbuilt Aaron Schock body. Sorry to disappoint!

This thread has convinced me there's nothing that comes close to "the most beautiful man." There are beautiful men, but none is flawless, and for every beauty that comes along, five more come around the corner and when you look back and the first, beauty has faded.

Never heard of this guy until he came up in the birthday list today - unbelievably beautiful in my book. Kavyan Novak.

I wouldn't say Brendan Fraser ever had a beautiful face, although he certainly had a great body for a while there.

Why'd this thread die out - did we run out of beautiful men? I just had this French actor pointed out to me - Louis Garrel. Beautiful? To me, he is. People were saying his nose was way too big - but I think it's manly. Google Image search shows many great pics of him.

James Mason in Pandora and the Flying Dutchman. Terrible movie, but everyone in it was so beautiful.

The mention of James Mason made me think of James Marsden, certain one of the greatest screen beauties of all time.

I didn't agree with the people around here who are so into Alain Delon, until I saw this pic today - now that's beauty!
by Anonymous | reply 422 | December 5, 2020 2:44 PM |
R421, I agree, Marsden is gorgeous. Strong cheekbones, great dimples and that nice thick head of hair. His only minor flaw are his huge ears. He usually covers them w/various hairstyles, but on occasion they've been seen catching a strong wind...
by Anonymous | reply 424 | December 6, 2020 7:03 AM |
His only flaw, r424? Marsden's nose is his main flaw and you know it...

R425 is he an actor in films?
by Anonymous | reply 429 | December 6, 2020 1:08 PM |
Troy Britton Johnson was a Broadway presence for a while, best known for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. It was nice to see him mentioned here, even though he's not a TV or movie person and is therefore not known to the general public. He is/was really gorgeous and a very nice guy
by Anonymous | reply 430 | December 6, 2020 9:48 PM |
James Marsden was probably never more gorgeous than he looked in a TV series called SECOND NOAH, which was the first time I became aware of him. And P.S., I don't think there's anything wrong with his nose (or any other part of him) in these clips, though it's true, I have noticed his ears looking rather prominent when he has other hairstyles.
by Anonymous | reply 431 | December 6, 2020 10:14 PM |
I think Marsden is attractive but his features are all too close together to be beautiful to me.

probably meant for the handsomest man on tv topic thread, but i was just watching the other day re-runs of "knight rider" from the mid 1980's and i was struck by how pretty and handsome David Hasselhoff was! i never realized as i didn't pay much attention to that show or him back then.. stunning baby blue eyes, pretty pink lips,a perfect flawless tan on his flawless chiseled face, thick sexy wavy/curly hair and a nice hairy chest.. too bad he didn't age well even by the time he did baywatch...

The part of Phineas Bogg in Voyagers! was originally meant to be played by a mid-40s man.
There were so many script references to Jeff looking at Bogg as if he were his dad, that fits. But all that got changed to uncle (occasionally, 'son') because Hexum was in his mid-20s.

by Anonymous | reply 460 | February 20, 2021 4:37 AM |
R460, I met Singer at Comic Con one year; despite the zillions of people there, there's a quiet autograph area in the center on a top floor of the convention center. He was there, quietly; signing autographs.
We had a nice talk about his time on The Young and the Restless; for some reason, perhaps because of his size and muscles, I expected an intimidating guy, but he was very friendly.
Don't get me wrong. They should all be that way -- but they're not.
