I always knew he was hot when he was young, but I watched a clip of The Thorn Birds and. man. Skip to the 3:18 for the gratuitous manhood and sweaty chest. No wonder Rachel Ward fell in love with him.
First noticed him in A Town like Alice. Fell in love with him in his torture scenes.

Now watch [italic]Breaker Morant[/italic]. It has no similar shirtless scenes; it's just a really good movie with Bryan Brown in it.

They are both gorgeous.

Unlike Ward, he could act. She was Australia's answer to Andie McDowell.

Check out Brown with the great Judy Davis in Winter Of Our Dreams from 1981. Not sure if it's easy to find these days.

I liked Ward in that tv movie about two grifting pirates who kill James Brolin and his wife. For some reason I have seen it several times altho its not a super famous film.

Winter of Our Dreams is available on Netflix and also several free streaming sites.
Brown did some pretty good work before he went Hollywood, such as The Eureka Stockade (1984), The Shiralee (1987) and Far East (1982).

The main reason I watched F/X on HBO so many times.

I love The Thorn Birds. When I was younger I was always Father Ralph, but now I watch it and I'm Team Luke.

And one of the few Hollywood marriages still going. Married almost 40 years.

Rachel Ward once dated one of RFK's sons.

You can see his dong in the movie Palm Beach (1980) but sadly it has been released on crappy VHS only. The Criterion need to put it on 4K UHD bluray now.
