I wonder why she's selling.

The windows are surprisingly unappealing and generic. But Jane Street is a fabulous location. One of my favorite streets in NYC.

I'm sure this is just the place she uses during the week. On weekends she usually heads back up north. It's not very big and she probably figures now might be a good time to move up to a bigger place.

R5 is right - "sterile with no appeal" pretty much sums it up. A few nice rugs, thats about it.

But like most apartments it could be made nice with a total makeover I guess

People, they just said in the article the home is staged. Potential buyers do not want to see your tacky junk.

And "not very big"? 2650 sq ft. is a large space for Manhattan.

R19 You DON'T want to do that. I have a friend who claims she woke up during hers, but you don't want to be awake for it.

That's wrong. Another listing said it's 1325 sq. feet, which looks about right.

Seems awfully tiny for either Michael Stipe or Rachel. He sold it for $1.2 million - which isn't exactly a ton of money, even in 2010 for Manhattan.

All they need is a big jug of wine to be passed sensually back-and-forth between one another and a big bowl of hummus (no utensils necessary because those types just use their fingers sensually to eat, scooping it up with dried plantain chips).

I love Jane Street. It's perfectly located and really lovely.

She did say not long ago on her show, that one day when she's no longer doing her show, she plans to travel the world and just have fun.

She Definitely has the $$$ to do it. She's been doing her show for over a decade now, she also has really successful NY times bestsellers and that means a lot of $$$. She's probably sitting on a $100 million dollar fortune. She's going to have a fun life after she ends her show, but I hope that's years away.

I really enjoy her show. But I absolutely can see her saying fuck it one day, and just quiting and walking away.
