OK, they look seriously normal and prim. How did they produce Mick???
Mick Jagger's parents board French airline to attend his wedding in St Tropez

The mom looks just like him. Mick was never traditionally handsome, but he was sort of cute in his youth.

OK, he looks just like his mother, damn

He had so much charisma...

Jagger was for his time an unconventional looking fellow, but he was sexy AF when young.
Perfect face at OP’s link.

He was Hawt

The family called him Mike, not Mick.

Remember, OP, all those 1960's hippies came from Father Knows Best type families in the1950's.
Janis Joplin with family.

Graduate work at the prestigious London School of Economics.... Michael (Mick) was on his way to a prosperous bourgeoise life until drugs, sex, and rock and roll took him out on the midnight mile.

Mick Was pretty normal and prim. London School of Economics. He's no dummy. He was just smart enough to know what he wanted to do and talented enough to excel.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 9, 2020 4:54 AM |
Mick isn't all that unique looking, his brother Chris looks just like him.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 9, 2020 5:55 AM |
Anyone recall a photo of mick in shorts I think that showed a very big package
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 9, 2020 6:28 AM |
A man in shorts? That infuriates me to the point of exhaustion.

"Anyone recall a photo of mick in shorts I think that showed a very big package."
Didn't Keith Richards make fun of his relatively small penis? I never heard a lot of packing rumors about Mick, but I don't know what the truth is.

Didn't Keef and Mick meet at a very middle-class school, before LSE? My understanding was that they were both from financially comfortable families.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 9, 2020 7:19 AM |
R15, if Mick has a small package, then he's been stuffing a cucumber down his trousers for decades.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 9, 2020 8:48 AM |
Because, you oik, Mick is far more prim and proper than you'll ever know. The bad boy image brought the publicity the band needed. There's a BBC telly interview with Mick and a couple of other guest in 1967, after The Stones European tour.
Hopefully the link works. I've always thought his accent is almost upper middle class, but I'll rely on the British subjects on this site to tell me. He's a lot more posh, well spoken and erudite than the public image he's projected.

Oh and P.S. his parents flew to St. Tripe in a chartered Dan-Air Comet 4, along with the junkies, groupies, and international riff raff of the time.

Grace Slick (who is also from prim, Leave it to Beaver parents) said that when she and Paul Kantner flew to London to meet with Mick to organise Altamount she expected to walk into an orgy with drugs flowing and hangers on all over the place. However, she said Mick answered the door in a business suit, served them tea and was all business. His house was also staid and old fashioned looking and looked more like the home of a dentist than a rock god.

Jake Webber, who co-starred with Patricia Arquette in MEDIUM, was a small boy when his father supplied drugs to The Stones. At one point Jake and his brother Charlie were living with Keith Richards and Anita Pallenberg.
Here's Jake at around 7 or 8.

R12 Thanks for that! The brother is better-looking! What are the odds...
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 9, 2020 1:02 PM |
In THE BURNT ORANGE HERESY he looks almost exactly like his mother.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 9, 2020 1:46 PM |
This is the first time I realized there was a movie based on the book Burnt Orange Heresy and that Mick Jagger was in it.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 9, 2020 2:32 PM |
Now brother Chris looks like the fun one. Yumm

"He's a lot more posh, well spoken and erudite than the public image he's projected."
True. But, I never thought he was concocting a false image. He actually was a hard-partying rock star with really no reason to reflect his prim and proper upbringing. Not that he's really been accused of that in any big way.

Many of the 60s rockers did. David Crosby and Grace Slick both came from well-off, socially prominent families.

They are from Dartford, a rather grim town not far from London.

His father was also a British sports authority known for popularizing basketball in England. He was a lecturer at St Mary's College in Twickenham. Weirdly, my uncle did a year abroad as a guest lecturer there in the 1970s and knew him! He had no idea that his son was a famous rock star. His dad was a buttoned-up, respected teacher.

Thanks r24 that climbing film from 1959 is awesome. Is that his dad talking abt the shoes?

Richards was more from a working-class fam.
