Katharine McPhee Donates $ To Republican Party In 2020

But it is only $500

Is she dead to us, despite McPhee being an ally to the gay community

Cancelled.

by Anonymousreply 1September 21, 2020 4:12 PM

Ugh - she's married to David Foster? WTF?

There's something very off about David Foster and all those 'marriages'. Somebody on his team may have made donations in her name.

by Anonymousreply 2September 21, 2020 4:15 PM

Well, let her donate money. It is hers and she can do what she wants with it. I do not know anything about her work, but I love to disagree with my idols! Isn't it tremendous fun to disagree with your favourite author etc? But I guess it is impossible for most Americans nowadays.

by Anonymousreply 3September 21, 2020 4:15 PM

She'll end up like James Woods/Kirstie Alley. Republicans in Hollywood are all nuts with persecution complexes.

by Anonymousreply 4September 21, 2020 4:17 PM

R3 But your idols all seem to be racist Republicans, GermanDude

by Anonymousreply 5September 21, 2020 4:18 PM

R5 No, I love Catherine Deneuve!!

by Anonymousreply 6September 21, 2020 4:20 PM

[quote] despite McPhee being an ally to the gay community

This is like saying can someone donate to the American Nazi Party and be an ally to the Jewish people. No they cannot.

by Anonymousreply 7September 21, 2020 4:21 PM

Why do you make ridiculous blanket statements about Americans, R3 (GGG)? Why are so many of your comments ignorant to the point of being imbecilic? Have you finished college yet?

by Anonymousreply 8September 21, 2020 4:24 PM

Germans aren't that bright.

by Anonymousreply 9September 21, 2020 4:26 PM

Never liked this bitch. Smug and entitled and you know she is waiting for David to croak so she can get his estate.

Plus she was the worst part of Smash.

by Anonymousreply 10September 21, 2020 4:29 PM

Ew fuck her

by Anonymousreply 11September 21, 2020 4:30 PM

Nasty cunt

by Anonymousreply 12September 21, 2020 4:31 PM

Is it just a friendly disagreement if one party wants to strops you of all your rights?

by Anonymousreply 13September 21, 2020 4:33 PM

CUNT.

by Anonymousreply 14September 21, 2020 4:33 PM

I knew I was correct to refuse to work with her. Bitch!

Please force her to get her hair, makeup, and styling done by heterosexuals, fellows.

by Anonymousreply 15September 21, 2020 4:35 PM

David Foster is a Russian asset. She’s just doing right by Uncle Vlad.

by Anonymousreply 16September 21, 2020 4:37 PM

But but but... She's Meghan's BFF. What will Meghan say about this?

by Anonymousreply 17September 21, 2020 4:38 PM

Well, get it while you can - those McPhee genes go south very quickly.

I’m struggling with this myself as I have a dear friend who is a conservative when it comes to our Federal government, but socially liberal enough to accept and support LGBT and some degree of social programs (welfare, unemployment, etc...)

She and her husband and I and mine have had many challenging, but still positive political discussions that have done nothing to change our mutual respect for each other.

So if in the past she were to donate $500 to a Republican candidate or group, I would trust in her intentions and believe in her First Amendment right to do so.

But last week I learned she is going to vote for Trump, even though she says she didn’t vote for him in 2016. Now I feel like all that respect established before is lost, and our friendship is at a crossroads.

Not all Republicans are bad, our liberalism needs a conservative foil. When they do go bad, it’s because they refuse to stand up for American ideals instead of accepting Trump’s ideals for his version of America. Republicans who support Trump are either outright supporting, or at the least suborning, fascism.

So is Katherine McPhee a Fascist?

by Anonymousreply 20September 21, 2020 4:51 PM

I read that thread, R19. Yeah, I don't believe he's German. He acts like a sheltered, naive teenager at his first gay tourist site, gawking and pointing. His pose of being young seems disingenuous. If he's trolling, he's not very effective at it.

On topic: Katharine McPhee always seemed calculating to me. She has cold, emotionless eyes. David Foster better have a prenup with wife #5. Is he afraid of being single or does he need a nursemaid?

by Anonymousreply 21September 21, 2020 5:13 PM

R21 R19 Ich bin Deutsch! Ia kinnt's mia scho glaum! I kum aas Bayern!

by Anonymousreply 22September 21, 2020 5:19 PM

Did anyone even like her here?

by Anonymousreply 23September 21, 2020 5:21 PM

Has DL ever liked this untalented person?

by Anonymousreply 24September 21, 2020 5:22 PM

Republicans are worse than Nazis. At least the Nazis could see the downside of freedom of speech. Republicans are exhibit A.

by Anonymousreply 25September 21, 2020 5:22 PM

Whore

by Anonymousreply 26September 21, 2020 5:23 PM

Grease fire her.

by Anonymousreply 27September 21, 2020 5:23 PM

Told ya.

by Anonymousreply 28September 21, 2020 5:24 PM

R20 - I don't believe that people who show their friends and family love and respect and are generally polite and civil people - I don't believe those qualities make them 'good' and balance out their support and votes for a party that actively wants to disenfranchise voters, who has never put forth any policies to advance civil liberties for women, people of color, or gays, and who have taken the most drastic steps toward Fascism.

What you support through your votes actually shows who you are. I honestly do not believe Republicans are good people. End of story. Being able to be kind and friendly does not make them a good person. Saddam Hussein could be charming, as was Hitler, as was Manson, as were most sociopaths.

'Bad' people are not bad 100% of the time otherwise they would not be able to advance and function in society. However, they show you who they are by what they support and don't support. And that shows their true qualities and mental thoughts that they are savvy enough not to vocalize to your face.

It's no longer a philosophical difference - it really is a binary choice of good vs. bad.

by Anonymousreply 29September 21, 2020 5:24 PM

Then by that logic, Abraham Lincoln was a bad person and John Wilkes Booth did the world a favor by assassinating him.

by Anonymousreply 30September 21, 2020 5:25 PM

This cunt has donated to the Republicans since McCain/Palin.

Fuck her!

by Anonymousreply 31September 21, 2020 5:31 PM

R30 - No stupid. Anyone with any knowledge of history knows that the parties as we know them today diverged in the early part of the 20th century.

Stupid Republicans are always trying to reach back 150 years and align themselves with Lincoln - and they share no parallels or platforms to this day.

Nice try though. We are dealing with the present, please try to keep up.

by Anonymousreply 32September 21, 2020 5:52 PM

And yet GOP whines about 'elitist radical liberal Hollywood'.

by Anonymousreply 33September 21, 2020 6:00 PM

This ain't anything new. I've always been Team Ivy.

by Anonymousreply 34September 21, 2020 6:31 PM

r3, using your logic, we should support the Klan and neo Nazis

Gays shouldn't support people who claim to be allies while donating to hatemongers

by Anonymousreply 37September 21, 2020 11:51 PM

R30 is stupid

First of all, being a Republican 150 years ago isn't the same as being a Republican in 2020

Second, calling someone an idiot is not the same as murdering them

by Anonymousreply 38September 21, 2020 11:53 PM

(Psst. GermanGayGuy = Milo. You are welcome.)

by Anonymousreply 39September 21, 2020 11:56 PM

I'm still traumatized by the leaked pic of her meat curtains...it was so fucking disgusting!

by Anonymousreply 40September 21, 2020 11:59 PM

I’m quite curious now... how do we know GGG is Milo? I know he’s as charming and yet also offensive as Milo...

Receipts please R39

by Anonymousreply 41September 22, 2020 12:08 AM

GGG is a fucking racist asshole, fuck the Bitch!

by Anonymousreply 42September 22, 2020 12:16 AM

R15 By the looks of it she already is.

by Anonymousreply 43September 22, 2020 4:14 AM

What a talentless cunt married to yo-yos leftovers.

by Anonymousreply 44September 22, 2020 4:17 AM

R40 I was hoping you wouldn't bring that up 🤢

by Anonymousreply 45September 22, 2020 4:37 AM

Even I donated $2,000 to my republicans... She should do better. If we're going to win this thing. All you democrats want to give everyone everything for sitting on their asses. And I'm tired of working my ass off paying taxes that help pay for it.

by Anonymousreply 46September 22, 2020 4:40 AM

r46, so you're against tax cuts for billionaires and corporate welfare? Or are you just against helping the poor?

by Anonymousreply 47September 22, 2020 4:44 AM

She's a cunt. I was better than her in Smash.

You're supposed to believe that Republicunt as Marilyn Monroe??

by Anonymousreply 48September 22, 2020 4:45 AM

Eat shit R46

by Anonymousreply 49September 22, 2020 8:30 AM

R46 isn't even trying.

by Anonymousreply 50September 22, 2020 8:39 AM

I don't believe the government taxes old, disabled, unemployed cunts like yoy though, R46. Q¹¹

by Anonymousreply 51September 22, 2020 8:51 AM

I googled her to see who TF she is and I saw that she was in Shark Night 3D. Why are you people talking about this literal nobody?

by Anonymousreply 52September 22, 2020 8:53 AM

I actually do want to be liked here. I like to make offensive and controversial statements on the internet. Should I stop doing that?

by Anonymousreply 53September 22, 2020 9:26 AM

There is a good chunk of our community--actual gays--who have traded in their soul and defected to the Party of Trump (Formerly Republican, RIP). I reckon it's at least 15%. And that's being conservative, so to speak. These people should feel shame, but then, if they had the capacity to, they would still be Dems.

These is more important. Boycott those fuckers. I don't care about that American Idol also-ran.

by Anonymousreply 54September 22, 2020 9:39 AM

Yeah she's cancelled now. I cannot in good conscious support the work of anyone who supports this evil regime. Them showing their support financially is them agreeing with their behaviour, which is corrupt, immoral and indefensible. Girl bye.

by Anonymousreply 55September 22, 2020 10:13 AM

I’m not into ‘cancel culture’ but this bitch has rubbed me the wrong way since her American Idol days so I am all in on this one.

Remember it was Stephen Sondheim who wrote - “Nice is different than good.” I have never forgotten that line.

by Anonymousreply 56September 22, 2020 10:30 AM

I always knew she was a Karen.

by Anonymousreply 57September 22, 2020 10:48 AM

Stupid cunt. She and Foster deserve each other.

by Anonymousreply 58September 22, 2020 10:49 AM

Cancel culture, do your thing!

by Anonymousreply 59September 22, 2020 3:46 PM

She married a multi millionaire sugar daddy. I doubt she cares.

by Anonymousreply 60September 22, 2020 3:49 PM

She went to school with Sparkle and her husband Mr Foster who is also Canadian, set up the living situation for Meghan and Henry in Canada via Kathrine.

They're all in cahoots with each other.

by Anonymousreply 61September 22, 2020 5:48 PM

I'll repeat: NOBODY WHO DONATES TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS AN ALLY TO THE LGBT+ COMMUNITY.

Period.

by Anonymousreply 62September 22, 2020 5:50 PM

R62 Or the human race or the greater good of society.

by Anonymousreply 63September 22, 2020 5:57 PM

A measly $500? You can be a cunt and you can be cheap - but to be both is really unforgivable.

by Anonymousreply 64September 22, 2020 6:16 PM

How does she handle this? Double down? Ignore/hope it goes away? Say she was wrong or didn't realize she was donating to take our rights away? Say her husband forced her to donate and then divorce? Or has she entered the realm of Kirstie Alley?

by Anonymousreply 65September 22, 2020 6:29 PM

Isn't she a $cieno? It's totally believable that she'd be a part of Cult45.

by Anonymousreply 66September 22, 2020 6:41 PM

r65, she partnered with chik fa ley (sp). she knows and doesn't care.

by Anonymousreply 67September 22, 2020 6:57 PM

Has this whore commented yet?

by Anonymousreply 68September 23, 2020 10:04 PM

Fuck her.

by Anonymousreply 69September 23, 2020 10:06 PM

I only knew about her marriage to Foster from reading the DL. I didn’t realize though that she was an ally to or an idol of or even remotely popular with a gay audience at all. I thought the posts about her marrying Foster were more in regards to him being 102 and her being in 7th grade and only slightly talented.

I don’t care about her $500, politics, marginal talents or elderly husband.

by Anonymousreply 70September 23, 2020 10:45 PM

Fucking cunt.

by Anonymousreply 71September 23, 2020 11:09 PM

by Anonymousreply 72September 23, 2020 11:20 PM

Ooof, and as Kat McPhee, she donated $1000 directly to Trump.

by Anonymousreply 73September 23, 2020 11:22 PM

Fuck this cunt and her career. What the hell is she thinking???

No, you can’t be a gay ally and push politicians that work hard to rid us of our rights

by Anonymousreply 74September 24, 2020 2:44 AM

But is it that shocking? I can't imagine David Foster is a hardcore Democrat.

by Anonymousreply 75September 24, 2020 2:47 AM

If she donated to the republican party, she is no ally to the LGBTQ community.

Punch and Delete.

by Anonymousreply 76September 24, 2020 2:59 AM

Well, it's obviously her because she hasn't commented.

She's an idiot.

by Anonymousreply 77September 24, 2020 3:49 AM

Yeah I wasn't sure it was her at first but her silence is leading me to believe it is. Whatever, she's an untalented smug gold digger so fuck her regardless

by Anonymousreply 78September 24, 2020 3:52 AM

I’m more surprised it was a lousy $500.

What a cheap ass bitch!

by Anonymousreply 79September 24, 2020 5:39 AM

Why does anyone care about this no-talent gold digger? She a nobody.

by Anonymousreply 80September 24, 2020 5:43 AM

Fine, I’ll ask!

Who?

by Anonymousreply 81September 24, 2020 7:13 AM

The writer of the article at Jezebel loves to make sneering swipes at everyone. He’s very surprised that Rob Reiner, a wealthy white man, would speak out against the Republican Party. Clearly he spent exhaustive hours investigating his subjects.

Who says High School journalism is dead?

by Anonymousreply 82September 24, 2020 7:23 AM

I’m not Republican, but for those who say that people who are nice and civil aren’t necessarily good if they support a party that hasn’t done much to advance rights of women, gays, people of color, etc... I don’t believe that a party or people who claim to be for advancing rights of women, gays, people of color, etc are necessarily good. As a matter of fact, that is often a Trojan horse. It’s the perfect cause to hide behind and often a distraction.

Example, all these George Floyd protests. HELLO!! We are in a pandemic (that disproportionately kills black people)! If there was a time for mass protests for universal healthcare or universal basic income (which I’m not necessarily for), it would be right now. Instead, the elites who don’t want to deliver that will use racism and police brutality as diversions. Another example, the military industrial complex. A vote for Biden, who will have his cabinet filled with military industrial elites, will likely lead to more costly regime change wars, which leads to even more spending, more of our soldiers being sent abroad to die, more color revolutions in other nations, etc. But that’s okay, muh racism is more important to fight.

Here are three ways Trump is to the left of Biden in the link below:

"The writer of the article at Jezebel loves to make sneering swipes at everyone. He’s very surprised that Rob Reiner, a wealthy white man, would speak out against the Republican Party. Clearly he spent exhaustive hours investigating his subjects."

Looks like we have a butthurt Republican on our hands.

"No, she’s not dead to me, cancel culture Op."

Criticizing people isn't cancel culture. It's freedom of speech.

by Anonymousreply 85September 24, 2020 6:35 PM

She was already dead to everyone. She didn’t have much of a career. What she did have was kept alive by gay fans.

Fuck her at this point

by Anonymousreply 86September 24, 2020 10:49 PM

No, R85, not a butthurt Republican. Reiner has always been a left-wing political activist, but the writer didn’t bother to find that out. Instead he just pulled it out of his arse and rewrote the narrative. If McPhee is a Republican donor, then she deserves what she gets. I have no sympathy for her, and I agree with you that criticism isn’t cancelling.

But the writing of that article is appalling. What a whiny and self-important brat.

by Anonymousreply 87September 25, 2020 12:53 PM

According to the Federal Election Commission’s online database of individual contributions, a self-employed singer by the name of Katharine McPhee who lives in Los Angeles has donated nearly $4,000 to numerous Republican causes and campaigns since 2008.

McPhee made three donations, totaling $1200, to the McCain/Palin campaign in 2008, plus an additional $1200 to the Republican National Committee that year. In 2018, she gave $1000 to the NRSC, plus another $500 in 2020, as previously reported.

And that’s just according to public records at the Federal Election Commission. Who knows what other antigay organizations and super PACs she’s been privately funding as well?

by Anonymousreply 88October 6, 2020 11:58 AM

The main question is: what could she possibly support among GOP policies?

by Anonymousreply 89October 6, 2020 7:48 PM

$$$$?

by Anonymousreply 90October 6, 2020 7:55 PM

No idea why this cunt would do that but it doesn't matter. She's dead to us, cancelled (not that she was ever not cancelled to me), and she can go the way of other faux allies.

Can't wait to see how she explains it to Harry and the Gold digger at Christmas.

by Anonymousreply 91October 6, 2020 7:59 PM

I didn’t know she had gay fans.

by Anonymousreply 92October 6, 2020 10:19 PM

She doesn't. I guess some people automatically assume gay men worship any female solo singer, even the bland ones

by Anonymousreply 93October 6, 2020 10:31 PM

R89 The old men who she blows are rich republicans. That’s her platform. “Gimme money.”

by Anonymousreply 94October 6, 2020 10:33 PM

She gained some gay fans after 'Smash' but I'm sure she lost them all by now.

by Anonymousreply 95October 6, 2020 11:04 PM

Still not a peep. She must be trying to breed to lock in that Foster cash. She’s a little long in the tooth for him.
