Genetics coming together to create a singular beauty just doesn't happen that much. They'll be better looking than average, thanks to the movie star genes, but as exceptionally beautiful? The best chances of retaining the parents good looks is when both parents share similar features. It's why Jolie and Pitt's bio will (most likely) turn out good looking. They both have light eyes, full lips, high cheekbones, etc. Chances are the spawn will have those too in adulthood. And with similar proportions.

Contrast that with Demi and Bruce. Their features couldn't be more different than each other. Thus upping the chances of Picasso spawn versus Caravaggio.

Mamie Gummer is worse-looking than most average women on the street, honestly, to the point I think you’re taking aback to see her on TV in any role that doesn’t require how utterly homely she is to be a plot point.

They’re all trying to look a certain way, not Western but very cookie cutter Asian, it’s hard to describe. Whereas in Japan there’s a taboo about getting permanent plastic surgery, because it’s considered a rebuke of your ancestry, so bad karma with that too.
