Store Mail-In Catalogues
I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with good store catalogues. I know Christmas is around the corner and I want to get started on my Christmas shopping.
I really do not want to go to the mall this year. I think Sears got rid of their catalogues. Who do I use now? Seens to be the quickest way to holiday shop these days.

Pretty much all reputable stores with websites will have prompts to get their catalog mailed to you.

What's the point in getting a catalog when you can just go to the store's website? Back pre-internet though I sure loved getting catalogs and would get literally a dozen or more every week. Now it's just not wise financially for a store to send out catalogs.

Old people still use catalogs. My grandma does.

Vermont Country Store has a small catalog for Christmas that’s a lot of fun. They cater to older people so a lot of their gifts are old school. They sell a lot of old fashioned Christmas candy and other foods. They also have a lot of health and beauty products that are reproductions of products from the old days. They also have reproduction perfumes, but I’ve read they don’t all smell like they used to. That’s because some of the plants used to create perfumes from the 1970s and before are now on the endangered species list and can’t be used. Read the reviews.
They also have a lot of cute old fashioned holiday decorations. It’s like going back to an earlier time.

Vermont Country Store also sells a lot of Peanuts merchandise, like Snoopy and Charlie Brown flannel and cotton sheets and other items.
Here’s another site that sells old fashioned toys for children, hard candy and other old fashioned gifts.

Lehman’s is a company that caters to homesteaders and Amish and Mennonite customers. They are famous for their big catalog. There’s a lot of stuff related to cooking and canning, but also gift items. It’s fun to just browse through.

Also one of the models in Vermont Country Store (their models are their family/owners) is HAWT. Wouldn't mind sliding something under that dressing gown!

There’s nothing wrong with being older and liking catalogs, you guys. Christmas is coming, it’s been a shit year and anything that makes people a little bit happier is good. A lot of people will be having Zoom holidays or spending the holiday alone. Be nice.
This is going to be a really rough season for a lot of people, especially people who usually travel for the holidays. They’re used to having a nice Christmas with family and now they can’t have it.
Why not have a nice thread with links to online shops you enjoy? We can use it as a reference closer to the holiday.
Landsend has a nice catalog and they have some nice Christmas decorations. They sell needlepoint Christmas stockings you can have personalized with a name. They also will monogram a lot of their products for a small fee. They have a nice Christmas catalog, but it looks like they’re just starting to get in their Christmas items.
They sell canvas shopping bags you can have monogrammed in a wide array of colors and sizes. I have some and they’re very high quality. Your choice of zipper or open top, handles can be short or shoulder length. The extra large is huge. You can use it as an overnight bag. If you sign up for their email, they have discounts and sales all the time.

Aliexpress.com
The customer service is amazing. If you complain about some product defect concealed in the marketing details, the owner of a factory in some megacity you have never heard of will email you incessantly, alternately begging and threatening.
No one from the Sunny land Farms catalogue gives you that level of service.

The Sundance Catalog is a fun one. It’s mostly ridiculously overpriced stuff, but it’s fun to look at if you just want to window shop. Lots of unusual, arty stuff.

Here’s Duluth Trading. They sell clothing, accessories and gear. They’re geared towards practical clothing for the working man or woman. Nothing fancy, but well made.
I’ve bought pants and socks from them, and leather goods. High quality. I’ve had a leather bag from them for at least ten years and it’s in good shape. They use high quality leather for their leather goods. Their “brown” color is actually a reddish, chestnut color. They have some interesting gift items, like shampoo in bar soap form. Handy for travel.
They send out small seasonal catalogs at different times of the year.

R17, NM filed for Chaper 11, restructuring, not dissolution. They submitted a plan to the court for restructure and it was approved. It sounds like they’re actually going to be doing a lot better.

OP, somebody I know who is a shut in does a lot of shopping on QVC and HSN for Christmas. They will ship the present directly to the recipient, enclose a gift return receipt with no price, and their return policy during the holidays is longer than usual.
They have “easy pay,” which means you charge it on your credit card and they will deduct payments once a month. During the holiday season, they sell items with four or five easy pays. They are reputable and sell brand names. No paper catalogs, but they have television programs. If you get tired of listening to political news, they’re relaxing to have on in the background. Don’t get carried away spending too much though.
If you go on their website, they have lots of pictures and sometimes videos of the products being demonstrated. You can also search by brand name or clearance. I have a feeling this year a lot of people are going to shop this way.
Here’s a popular gift product that smells really nice. I have this.

And one of the first things the court demanded was they put an end to those cost-draining catalogs to 90-year olds.

They’re on the website. The Christmas catalog is $15, they have a catalog subscription for $50. So maybe the court okayed it as long as they charge for it.

I feel a bit sorry for the children of today who will never know the pleasures of browsing the Sears holiday Wish Book and picking out all the toys they want. Surfing Amazon just isn't quite the same.

I have a 1970s reproduction copy of the 1906 Sears catalog. My grandfather had it because he repaired antiques and they had good illustrations of the items he repaired along with the brand names and descriptions.
I could look at that all day. It’s fascinating to see the furnishings of people’s houses. It was really Amazon on paper, they carried everything.
