Mark Bingham
I know some people here are not much for wallowing re: the performance of grief around 9/11.
But I do mourn those we lost, and I especially wonder what Mark Bingham might have achieved.
Maybe he'd be an activist, or perhaps he would have been elected to office like Brian Sims.

R1 Nah, not really. I don't want to bathe in the nationalism of it, what it's become.
Just this one person, today.

He asked my partner out on a date. Mark used to flirt with him all the time at The Dugout back in the day. My partner told him once he was in NYC on a more fulltime basis, he would go out with him (Mark was planning on opening a PR company in NYC).
When we first started dating, he showed me Bingham's biz card - written on the back was "call me!!!" and his number. I got chills seeing it.

Mark Bingham - the face of a hero. He was only 31 when he died.
