Century 21 Department Stores Closes All Its Stores

I love the Century 21 in Philadelphia. It is a discount department store, but is much nicer than Marshalls or TJ Maxx. The interior is like an upscale department store and the merchandise is full of real designers, not crap like Ivanka Trump and the other same old you find at discount stores. I was genuinely sad to read they would be closing.

That's because the Philly location was indeed once an upscale department store, the flagship of the Strawbridge & Clothier chain.

The Century 21 in lower Manhattan was the mecca. The store wasn't as appealing in the past few but that has to do with declining fashion. The store in southern Brooklyn had the best designer handbag collection.
