He'll be chewing through the scenery and his victims!
David Tennant to play serial killer Dennis Nilsen

That made me laugh OP.

Tennant doesn't just chew the scenery -- he eats it up and regurgitates it, then eats it up again.
Why he keeps getting parts... one of life's mysteries...

Has anyone seen this?

When will it air stateside?

It has already been shown in the UK. David Tennant was disturbingly convincing as Denis Nilsen. There was no scenery chewing or grandstanding. It was very bleak.

It was an really well made drama and covered the thorough unremarkableness of Nilsen
Tennant was very restrained, Daniel Mays was excellent as the investigating officer, Laurie Kynaston was brilliant as one of the victims who got away. Jason Watkins seemed out of place when he's usually very reliable.
A week later ITV showed Appropriate Adult, with Dominic West as Fred West and Emily Watson as the social worker who sat in the police interviews because he was believed to have a learning disability.
And tonight BBC2 are showing the first part of a series about Harold Shipman and ITV are showing Honour, about the murder of young Asian woman Banaz Mahmod who was murdered by her family when she left her abusing husband and dishonoured them. And we recently had The Salisbury Poisonings after those two Russian bodybuilding cathedral enthusiasts visited the country to visit an old friend.
Fingers crossed there's a repeat soon of The Moorside, covering the Shannon Matthews kidnapping. No news yet of when Four Lives based on the Stephen Port Grindr murders with Stephen Merchant as the creepy man will be shown.
Five Daughters was also excellent, the series about the serial killer in Ipswich who targeted sex workers.

Why did he use his fucking accent? Watched the documentary after the show and Dennis did not a broad Scottish accent. Lazy Tennant.

Is there any way to see these in North America? They sound deliciously creepy.

Dennis, Appropriate Adult and Honour are ITV productions. Another ITV production written by Peter Morgan of The Crown fame, was The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries, where an slightly odd man had his life ruined by the media when he was briefly the suspect in a murder hunt after a woman who rented a flat from him went missing over Christmas and was later found murdered.
Five Daughters, The Moorside, Three Girls and The Salisbury Poisonings were made by the BBC.
And when it comes to fictional crime, you can't beat Happy Valley and The Fall.
Most are available on Torrent sites, a lot will be available on Netflix and Britbox.

Missing is fun and The Forgotten is fucking incredible.

Do you mean Unforgotten with Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar? If so I agree completely. It was great to see some of the actors nominated for BAFTAs in supporting roles.
Netflix's Criminal has had some good shows. Katherine Kelly acts like she's in Dynasty but the rest of the police cast are good. Rochenda Sandall is sublime. Series 1 was a decent start with David Tennant and Hayley Atwell playing against type, series 2 just premiered and Sophie Okonedo was disappointing, it vastly improved with Kit Harrington, got even better with Sharon Horgan and remained excellent with Kunal Nayyar.

ITV's 'White House Farm' with Freddie Fox as Jeremy Bamber was very good. I think it'll be on HBO in the US soon.

It’s disappointing they never made the Lynette White murder into a drama - a brutal attack on a young woman, young black men framed and beaten into making a confession, the miscarriage of justice campaign, the eventual release of the innocent men, the arrest of the actual killer, the trial of the police involved. At least 6 hours.

I really like Tennant. He can be really creepy when he needs to be. He narrates the hilarious series W1A on Netflix. Well worth the watch. I recommend closed captioning because the dialogue is fast and the accents are varied.

Yes. Absolutely yes.

R12 Yes, Unforgotten, so good.
Anthony by Jimmy McGovern is beautiful. Honour just started.

I didn't love The Salisbury Poisonings but Anne-Marie Duff was fantastic. "White House Farm" was decent, but the Tennant "Deadwater Fell", which aired at the same time was better. But "Des" is better than all of them combined. But I do have a thing for Barry Ward who played Daniel Mays partner, so I'm biased.
