Let's Talk About The Nepotism That Made Ben Platt

His father, Marc Platt, is a much bigger part of the industry than anybody really talks about. He's served as president of Orion Pictures, TriStar pictures, and Universal Studios. Marc Platt produced Legally Blonde, La La Land, Drive, Charlie St. Cloud, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, and a lot of other award winning films. He is set to produce the film version of Dear Evan Hansen, as well as Disney's 'Cruella' along with their remake of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. He is also producing and possibly directing the Once On This Island film, the live-action Little Mermaid remake, and of course the Wicked film.

For Television he produced all of Fox's live musicals.

On stage he produced Wicked, If/Then, and War Paint.

He has also been linked to a shit ton of blockbuster films. Coincidentally, he has also produced or executive produced every single thing his son, Ben Platt, has ever done on stage or on film, with the exception of a few works of which Marc Platt is close friends with the creative teams behind, such as the Pasek and Paul musicals.

I'm suprised he didn't get Ben to star in Into The Woods as The Baker or one of the princes, considering he also produced that.

However he got the part, Ben was just sensational as Evan Hansen.

Nepotism and White privilege is why so many of these assholes have "careers" in media and entertainment today.

Shutting anyone else out who has any real talent.

Yes, but he's too old for the role now. He reads older than his actual age.
