A vile weed that ruins every dish it is in. I could enjoy fajitas if not for the green peppers.
They make me belch

Yum, more for me!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 31, 2020 10:22 PM |
I agree. Just use pablanos instead and your fajita will be excellent!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 31, 2020 10:22 PM |
Pablanos are so much better!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 31, 2020 10:23 PM |
They are the devil’s vegetable.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 31, 2020 10:24 PM |
I actually agree with this. I’m not a bell pepper fan in general. Especially raw. Yuck.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 31, 2020 10:25 PM |
I don't mind them raw, in small amounts. But I would never cook with them. Nasty.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 31, 2020 10:27 PM |
Just don't eat them green then. Orange, yellow, red are your friends. A tricky color, green.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 31, 2020 10:28 PM |
This belongs in the "foods that taste like 1974" thread OP
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 31, 2020 10:33 PM |
Stuffed peppers were my dad's favorite meal. I just ate the filling.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 31, 2020 10:34 PM |
Out of 50,000+ kinds of pepper in all the world, we gotta get worked up about the big green ones.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 31, 2020 10:36 PM |
Why are green peppers cheaper than colored ones?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 1, 2020 1:00 AM |
Marry me, OP. Couldn’t agree more. Even the smell makes me want to vomit.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 1, 2020 1:06 AM |
I love them oven baked, stuffed with rice and vegetables.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 1, 2020 1:07 AM |
Raw or cooked. So good.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 1, 2020 1:10 AM |
I agree with R8, I like every other color of bell pepper except the green ones. I've learned to eat them on occasion, but I could do without.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 1, 2020 1:13 AM |
I love green peppers, especially in Greek salads.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 1, 2020 1:16 AM |
Green Bell peppers must be like cilantro / coriander where the taste depends on the person. Both vegetables taste horrible to me, but the green peppers are the worst of the two.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 1, 2020 1:16 AM |
r1 - They make me belch, too. And, you wanna know why? It's because they're immature when they're green. It's like eating a green apple. I pick them out of everything. Sometimes if they're cooked, they don't bother me. But raw ones always do.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 1, 2020 1:18 AM |
Difficult, not tricky, R8.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 1, 2020 1:21 AM |
Capsicum
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 1, 2020 1:21 AM |
I only enjoy them if they are finely chopped through the garbage disposal.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 1, 2020 1:25 AM |
I love them in fajitas and despise poblabo peppers.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 1, 2020 1:29 AM |
As a pepper matures, it changes from Green to red to orange and yellow. That's why green peppers are cheaper (and not as sweet) - they are picked sooner.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 1, 2020 1:33 AM |
Rather, red is the last stage of pepper ripeness. Orange and yellow fall in between the two.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 1, 2020 1:35 AM |
I agree OP, but I would include all Bell Peppers, to me they ruin every dish they are in, it is the only favor I can taste if they are in it and it is not a good taste to me.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 1, 2020 1:36 AM |
I never realized how much I disliked them until I became an adult. But I love the red/yellow/orange ones.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 1, 2020 1:37 AM |
Someone should start a thread about cantaloupe. I feel the same way about them, r26.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 1, 2020 1:40 AM |
They only seem to work in Chinese food. I hate them until they are with black bean sauce.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 1, 2020 2:01 AM |
cooked ok,otherwise thinly sliced.
