As a kid in the 1980s, I can tell you that there were commercials running all the time about safety. Every sitcom that had children in it had a "very special episode" where one of the kids would almost get kidnapped by some suspicious man. And then the star of the show would appear at the end of the episode and say something like, "Kids, if anything like this happens to you, tell your parents, etc..."

The only one I believe when he says MJ never molested him, is Corey Feldman.

I used to defend Michael Jackson mainly because everyone else around me did. I was a kid and rationalized his behavior as someone in arrested development. His death was tragic too. Either way it's emotionally manipulative, exploitative and an abuse of power and these kids (now adults) are fucked up. There were 6 accusers too and I feel if he didn't know anything wrong, he would have just let these cases go to court and not try to pay them off.
