Jealous, bitches?
I'm watching the film "Trick" with DL and Gays Icons Christian Campbell, J.P. Pitoc and the gorgeous Tori Spelling

I'm sorry J. P. Pitoc didn't have more of a career. He was so hot in this.

Neither of those guys are icons, DL or gay.

Sure, Jan.

Tori is actually pretty good in this.

A sweet, feel-good film. I was really pulling(no pun intended) for these two cute guys.
Probably the best role Tori ever had.
Steve Hayes and Miss Coco Peru added just the right sassiness.
I had never seen any man quite like Pitoc, he was truly at the height of his beauty and sexiness.
Christian Campbell seemed the most "real" of all the actors.
The straight couple made an effective counterpoint to the gay angle.
NYC Dl'ers: What did you think of the views of the city?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 20, 2020 6:25 AM |
The views of the WTC are sad, knowing how little time they had left after the filming.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 20, 2020 6:29 AM |
Great movie, though I haven't seen it in eons. This thread makes me want to look it up again.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 20, 2020 6:29 AM |
Pitoc was super hot in Six Feet Under.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 20, 2020 6:32 AM |
What happened to the Pitoc guy? Gay? French?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 20, 2020 6:32 AM |
I loved this movie. It made me like Tori Spelling,
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 20, 2020 6:33 AM |
Pitoc rapidly aged afterward.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 20, 2020 6:35 AM |
He gay IRL?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 20, 2020 6:41 AM |
Surprisingly I have not seen this movie. Perhaps you gays will convince me to.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 20, 2020 6:44 AM |
r10 Probably drugs.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 20, 2020 6:49 AM |
R13 Supposedly they're both straight.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 20, 2020 7:13 AM |
This film, The House of Yes, and her own show, So NoTorious, are the reasons I can't completely write off poor Tori.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 20, 2020 7:16 AM |
I love the ending - sweet and wonderful. Pitoc was sex on a stick.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 20, 2020 7:17 AM |
The straight roommate had the standard issue Macaulay Culkin 90's boyband haircut.

Of all the movies that have been turned into musicals, Trick would be perfect.
They could even have 2 musicals within a musical moments, with Katherine's performance in Salome and a Broadway style reprise of Enter You at the end.
And don't Mary! me, but seriously, Tori Spelling really deserved every best supporting actress nomination going for this scene alone. Who remembers Samantha Morton in that Woody Allen film? Chloe Sevigny? How many people still rave about Angelina Jolie?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 20, 2020 8:16 AM |
If they made it today, everyone would be black and trans and humorless. Directed by Janet Mock. Produced by gunther ryan murphy.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 20, 2020 8:17 AM |
Tori & the drag queen were twins.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 20, 2020 8:26 AM |
This should be in the NYC 90's thread.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 20, 2020 8:49 AM |
It was one of the first successful cheerful gay indies, after all the (entirely justified) gloom of the previous decade, so it was a breath of fresh air.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 20, 2020 9:00 AM |
Why did their careers go down the shitter?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 20, 2020 10:20 AM |
I love this movie, actually have it on DVD, it may have been one of the first DVDs I ever bought.

MARY! I'm sorry but it just had to be done.
What's this on? Netflix??
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 20, 2020 10:32 AM |
I believe what helped the movie at the time was the uplifting ending when every other gay movie ended in tragedy and death.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 20, 2020 10:34 AM |
R28 You are correct. They shot this movie thisclose to where I worked. J.P Pitoc was at his peak in this movie. Gorgeous.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 20, 2020 10:39 AM |
Icons? ICONS? Oh, Mary.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 20, 2020 10:40 AM |
It wasn't about ... you know ... what every other gay movie was about at the time.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 20, 2020 10:47 AM |
I always found it interesting that for a gay movie the most explicit thing were the naked breasts of Lorri Bagley (whom I love in Veronica's Closet). Because that's what the audience for a gay rom-com was expecting.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 20, 2020 11:06 AM |
r21 and genderless.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 20, 2020 11:15 AM |
Instead of singing 'Enter You' Tori would sing 'Enter They'
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 20, 2020 11:16 AM |
Christian Campbell was kind of a prettier Ryan Reynolds.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 20, 2020 11:18 AM |
Thereโs a Trick 2 in the works.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 20, 2020 11:23 AM |
Tori Spelling's chunky head makes her resemble Donna Summer
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 20, 2020 11:26 AM |
Everyone had millennial fever and paranoia at what lay lurking around the corner in 1999.
This movie was lighthearted and a welcomed breath of fresh air from the traditional tragic 3 hanky weepers that were gay themed movies at that time.
PS: I'd have loved to flip the so-called straight roommate. Gingers are my kryptonite.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 20, 2020 11:42 AM |
None of those are gay icons
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 20, 2020 11:45 AM |
Voila! Itโs showtime!
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 20, 2020 11:47 AM |
I'm eating a GAY ICON fruit salad and listening to DL ICON Ari Melber podcast and soon will wash my ass with GAY AND DL ICON Dove shower gel and put on a GAY DL ICON H&M linen shirt.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 20, 2020 11:50 AM |
I'll go to my grave claiming that Tori Spelling should have won best supporting actress Oscars for this one and The House of Yes.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 20, 2020 12:18 PM |
It would be a great musical if Christian Campbell ran around in a flesh colored jock again.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 20, 2020 12:44 PM |
Always loved this movie. It was so refreshing to see a gay movie not about AIDS, coming out, homophobia, self hate. It was just a cute rom com about 2 guys looking for a place to hook up that turns into something more. The guys were great and adorable. Tori is very good. Never liked her before or since but here she is perfect. Great use of the Chelsea and West Village areas. The phone booth at the end is still there (well it was before Covid) I sing "Enter You" in my head whenever I pass it
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 20, 2020 1:02 PM |
r41 = Gay & DL icon bitter cunt!
by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 20, 2020 4:51 PM |
Great film, OP. It's been nearly two decades since I sat through it, though. I have it on DVD.
There's two other really good ones from close to that period of time, though neither are as comedic as ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ค.
One is ๐๐๐ญ ๐๐๐๐ฅ (1998), and the other is ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐๐ง (1998).

My online hookup played this movie for me when I came over. I thought we were immediately going to get it on, but I guess not. Cute movie. We exchanged bjs afterward.
