Henry Cavill is not a great actor and he knows that. He has been very candid he is not trying to be some serious actor, he is trying to be a commercially successful star. Just wants to make as much money in the industry as he can.

I find this whole “Is Henry Cavill gay?” Personally exhausting for him.

It was a cute film for being yet another YA fiction adaptation. It was also “woke” without beating you across the head with it. MBB is an awkward actor, but she’s passable here. Cavill looked ridiculous stuffed into his period costume. Claflin’s 1D character was pointless, but I love him. Partridge was ethereally beautiful, but his character was also 1D. I liked the ambiguity which they left HBC’s character with at the end...like this bitch really might go full Guy Fawkes.

I think the movie was cute. Cavill was the weakest link, with his pursed lips and overstuffed body in a suit. I didn't buy him as Sherlock Holmes one bit. Fortunately, MBB and the other characters carried the movie.
