by Anonymous | reply 75 | August 25, 2020 8:48 PM |
I just just watched him in the film The Assisi Underground RIP
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 18, 2020 7:17 PM |
Who?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 18, 2020 7:17 PM |
He had a hot ass but he couldn't live forever.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 18, 2020 7:18 PM |
So young.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 18, 2020 7:19 PM |
Wow! He's young. He was in Chariots of Fire, an Oscar winning film, you dolts. He was quite lovely actually.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 18, 2020 7:20 PM |
BTW, how young was he? I felt it right to say, but the reception up here is terrible.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 18, 2020 7:20 PM |
R3 He was an Englishman.
Well, we know what that means.
Uggh.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 18, 2020 7:21 PM |
He starred in [italic]Chariots of Fire[/italic]. The blond guy is Nigel Havers. Cross was handsome and talented.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 18, 2020 7:21 PM |
Read he was 72 and died in Vienna, after a short illness.
I'd like to die somewhere elegant, like Vienna or Paris. Not like Waco or Sarasota.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 18, 2020 7:32 PM |
Fucking loved him. Hot man.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 18, 2020 7:36 PM |
He should have had a much bigger career. Handsome and a very good actor.
I wonder why he didn't.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 18, 2020 7:39 PM |
Nigel Havers was cute too R9. Neither he nor Cross had big movie careers. Theater perhaps? Havers did a lot on TV.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 18, 2020 7:41 PM |
I stared at his crotch all through Chariots of Fire when I was a kid. Ah memories....
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 18, 2020 7:46 PM |
Sarek II.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 18, 2020 7:47 PM |
Yes, R10, I would like to exit with Orson Welles filming it with lighting by James Wong Howe and music by Eric Wolfgang Korngold.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 18, 2020 7:47 PM |
Ah, Korngold.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 18, 2020 7:47 PM |
Very sad. I remember him not only in Chariots but in Dark Shadows, the 90s series.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 18, 2020 7:49 PM |
He was beautiful and just perfect for his role in CHARIOTS. RIP.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 18, 2020 8:05 PM |
he was so hot in Chariots. I was 8 when it came out and my mom took me to see it. I was so mesmerized by him. He became a total type for me - I'm obsessed with tall patrician English guys.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 18, 2020 8:13 PM |
Wow! He's young.
72? He is just a baby!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 18, 2020 8:15 PM |
Oh no :(
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 18, 2020 8:18 PM |
Oh no. I remember him as Barnabas in the 1991 Dark Shadows. It was cancelled way too soon. I loved him in that role. It is sad to hear about his death.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 18, 2020 8:37 PM |
72 is young to die these days, R21. Many people make it into their 80s and 90s now.
He isn't really dead, though. He's a vampire, after all.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 18, 2020 8:39 PM |
Tso Yung.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 18, 2020 8:41 PM |
Wow! He's young. He was in Chariots of Fire, an Oscar winning film, you dolts. He was quite lovely actually.
Okay I take it back. He wasn't young. He was 72. My how time flies.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 18, 2020 8:48 PM |
If he was 72, that must mean I'm ...
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 18, 2020 8:59 PM |
Ian Charleson was the other lead in Chariots of Fire. He died of AIDS
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 18, 2020 9:01 PM |
he was so hot in Chariots. I was 8 when it came out and my mom took me to see it. I was so mesmerized by him. He became a total type for me - I'm obsessed with tall patrician English guys.
you must have had a very vivid imagination R20, the whole point of the movie was that his character was Jewish and an "outsider"
and Cross himself was neither patrician nor Engilish
Cross was born Harry Bernard Cross, in London, to a working class Catholic family, with Irish ancestry.[1][2][3] His mother was a cleaning woman and his father a doorman and nurse.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 18, 2020 9:11 PM |
He was so sexy as Barnabas in the Dark Shadows revival. As I recall, the series got caught with scheduling pre-emptions due to the Gulf War and writers strike issues.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 18, 2020 9:28 PM |
Live not so long and prosper.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 18, 2020 9:32 PM |
OMG. I knew him. He was lovely. I worked on a project he was in a long time ago in Bulgaria. He was very friendly and very down to earth . He said something super nice to me, which still ranks in the top 5 best compliments I ever received, after all these years. R. I. P. Ben, you were a gentleman.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 18, 2020 9:32 PM |
r32 Did he compliment your sphinctral grip strength?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 18, 2020 9:35 PM |
R33 that was very distasteful even for datalounge. You're a cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 18, 2020 9:40 PM |
Ben Cross ruined Chariots of Fire
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 18, 2020 9:40 PM |
R16 Do you want the cinematography in colour or black and white?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 18, 2020 9:40 PM |
Nice picture, R34. He has a lantern jaw, but seems like an affable fellow.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 18, 2020 9:45 PM |
I still feel like someone big is going to sicken and die this year. Maybe Hollywood type or some other type...I know who I'd like it to be, but hey...
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 18, 2020 9:46 PM |
How big R39?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 18, 2020 9:48 PM |
oh cut me a break - i was 8 and living in New Jersey. Any English accent sounded posh to me.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 18, 2020 9:54 PM |
R41 he was not very tall either.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 18, 2020 9:57 PM |
"How bleak was my puberty."
i was 8 and living in New Jersey

by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 18, 2020 10:03 PM |
R45 this is WORD for WORD, what he said to me. How did you know ???
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 18, 2020 10:07 PM |
Regardless of how lower-class or Catholic Ben Cross may have started out, he succeeded in making me want to suck Harold Abrahams' delightfully Jewish schlong every time I saw Chariots of Fire.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | August 18, 2020 10:10 PM |
Thank goodness there were no full frontal scenes!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 18, 2020 10:17 PM |
Good actor. RIP.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 18, 2020 10:21 PM |
Say WHAT, R48???
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 18, 2020 10:23 PM |
"Ben Cross ruined Chariots of Fire"
You're just going to drop this in the comments and not even explain WHY you think it's so?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 18, 2020 10:38 PM |
r50 It would've been difficult for a likely uncircumcised Cross to play a Jew if frontal nudity were required.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 19, 2020 1:51 AM |
Ohhhhhhh...yeah, r52. Those days, I didn't think about circumcision or uncircumcision. Good point.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 19, 2020 2:59 AM |
I remember him well as Barnabas Collins in the revival series of Dark Shadows. It put him in the spotlight and he got a lot of publicity. Shortly afterwards I remember seeing him in a horror movie at the theater but I've forgotten the name of the film.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | August 19, 2020 3:27 AM |
He had strong features, too strong.
His only big film was 4 decades ago.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 19, 2020 3:36 AM |
He should have had a much bigger career. Handsome and a very good actor. I wonder why he didn't.
Hee was a bore and had no charisma.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 19, 2020 4:15 AM |
^^ Melania?
by Anonymous | reply 58 | August 19, 2020 5:32 AM |
R52 Stunt penis!
by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 19, 2020 7:41 AM |
I get you, r10. I've always thought I'd like to die in Venice.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | August 19, 2020 1:04 PM |
I'd like to die somewhere elegant, like Vienna or Paris. Not like Waco or Sarasota.
We'll always have Canarsie!
by Anonymous | reply 61 | August 19, 2020 1:12 PM |
Condolances to his daughter Marcia.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | August 19, 2020 1:39 PM |
I had a massive crush on Ben Cross, a very beautiful man with strong features. A little bit of trivia, Ben went through grueling workouts to get in shape for “Chariots of Fire”. I always get chills at the beginning of the film when they show the runners at the beach.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | August 20, 2020 2:42 AM |
The blond guy is Nigel Havers. Cross was handsome and talented.
I thought Nigel Havers had a beautiful smile, very cute blonde man.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | August 20, 2020 2:45 AM |
So many cute actors where in Chariots of Fire, including the late Brad Davis and Dennis Christopher.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | August 20, 2020 2:56 AM |
Another one of his "Chariots" co-stars died recently (June 19) too.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | August 20, 2020 4:53 AM |
nicholas farrell was also one of the runners and was rather easy on the eyes also
by Anonymous | reply 68 | August 20, 2020 5:42 AM |
Yeah, there were a lot of cute guys in that movie
by Anonymous | reply 69 | August 20, 2020 5:43 AM |
Didn't know his name but recognized his face immediately. RIP.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | August 20, 2020 6:03 AM |
Cross also played the villain in the King Arthur movie, "First Knight" (1995) opposite Sean Connery & Richard Gere:
Wow! He's young.
He was in Chariots of Fire, an Oscar winning film, you dolts.
That movie is almost 40 years old.

Someone few people know and less people care about has died of Coronavirus and they covered it up.
Typical.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | August 24, 2020 11:55 AM |
I have even less interest in what this whey-faced Brit has to say than Julia Roberts does.
