Most versatile model ever.
Beautiful? Obviously. Versatile? No. She always looked like Linda. Not a bad thing, but she couldn't really change her look up beyond a small point.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 16, 2020 5:33 AM |
OP's picture is about the worst photograph of her I've ever seen.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 16, 2020 5:39 AM |
R2, That's interesting. She was called the "Chameleon" of modeling because she was always changing her looks.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 16, 2020 6:05 AM |
Versatile? Phfft! Can her do golden shower?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 16, 2020 6:14 AM |
Why did she let herself go? Pretty much all of the super models of that time stayed fit and maintained their looks.
Helena Christensen did a bikini photo shoot recently.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 16, 2020 6:24 AM |
I loved Linda, she was definitely my favorite. The only other supermodel I really liked was Nadja Auermann, although I had a soft spot in my heart for Tatjana Patitz as well.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 16, 2020 6:45 AM |
Belle laide. Her nose is bizarre.
Who’s the one with the wonky eye? Kate Moss? I can’t believe these women with huge flaws in their looks are supermodels.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 16, 2020 6:46 AM |
I look at R1 and R4 and imagine she could have had some kind of acting career if she had some talent. Along the lines of Renee Russo.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 16, 2020 6:51 AM |
1:40-3:33 Linda is the most androgynous and dramatic in Peter Lindbergh's "Model" - with Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Tatiana Patitz dressed as men.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 16, 2020 6:59 AM |
Honestly, the only good thing to come out of Canada
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 16, 2020 7:03 AM |
Linda was always a bit butch for my taste. Even as a gay man, however, I swooned over Christy Turlington. Even her name was glamourous.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 16, 2020 7:41 AM |
r5 All I see is the same chick with different color hair. Not seeing a chameleon effect at all. Again, she's gorgeous, I just don't see what you see. And that's OK.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 16, 2020 10:02 AM |
All of the original supermodels (Naomi, Christy, Cindy, Claudia, Tatiana) have maintained their looks for the most part. Cindy looks the worst of them, but only because her look has hardened over the years. She's still fundamentally beautiful and in great shape.
Meanwhile, Linda has become a recluse who refuses to be photographed...all because she's gotten fat. Someone needa to send her $10,000 so she finds the motivation to get out of bed.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 16, 2020 10:18 AM |
Cindy needs to lay off of the HGH. She looka like a man.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 16, 2020 10:29 AM |
Even now, her mouth, her nose, her eyes are out of this world. There's nothing wrong with being fat and older. It's a normal thing. I prefer seeeing her age naturally than all these artificially slim, nipped and tucked celebs. (Not that it's up to me to decide how she should look, ofc). She's sweet.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 16, 2020 10:49 AM |
She's the only model I can think of who could pull off any hair color, any hairstyle.
R9: Her nose is unusual. From certain angles it looks like a penis. Even so, she was beautiful.
R17 : It seems more than just getting fat. Has she been ill? She looks bloated now, like a side effect from medication.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 16, 2020 11:31 AM |
I think she’s fabulous
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 16, 2020 12:24 PM |
R18, you might be right about the medication. I really hope she's not ill. Has anyone heard anything?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 16, 2020 12:34 PM |
Can you imagine? Having your original, imperfect nose and still thinking you were beautiful?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 16, 2020 2:32 PM |
I didn't think Cindy Crawford had such a masculine face until the video at R11
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 16, 2020 7:08 PM |
R14 it's more than OK
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 16, 2020 7:08 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 16, 2020 7:13 PM |
She said in an interview that seeing Joan Severance inspired her to pursue modeling.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 16, 2020 8:37 PM |
R9 - I don't see how Kate Moss could be seen as having anything wrong with her eyes. If anything, those huge, otherwordly eyes and her perfectly razor-sharp cheekbones were her best features. She was best known for being one of the shortest women to ever achieve "supermodel" success and is often credited for starting the "waif" trend in modeling (during her Calvin Klein days). As her career lasted far longer than most of the others, her look changed a lot over the years. I'm trying to think of who you might be referring to but unlike a mole or a chipped tooth - eye problems might preclude most models from getting very far in the business.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 16, 2020 8:51 PM |
Linda does look bloated from medication. Much like Pierce Brosnan’s wife Keely who suffers from Thyroid issues.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 16, 2020 9:15 PM |
Being able to pull off any hair color is considered a versatile model. Kate Moss is the only one who can really push it and look good.
Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford could never have gotten away with the hair Linda had unless it was Halloween.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 16, 2020 9:22 PM |
Linda always had that slightly contemptuous and unpleasant expression.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 16, 2020 9:23 PM |
R17 you think her eyes, nose and mouth right now are out of this world? Really? Even after she’s let herself go? That’s kind.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 16, 2020 9:36 PM |
The modeling industry disproves the theory "You can't polish a turd." Whether they're supermodels or porn stars, so many people mistake the image of perfection as the real thing.
I often forget that despite the glamorous exterior, Linda is from a working class background. The fancy parties and billionaire baby daddy doesn't change the fact she was destined to become her true self without an insane amount of upkeep.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 16, 2020 11:16 PM |
She was an amazing model, very versatile, esp in photo shoots. I always found it amazing that she could take on any kind of persona and made it work. She wasn't as beautiful as Nadia Auermann, although she had a great body, but she was never ever bland or 'just good'.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 17, 2020 12:05 AM |
R7 We have discussed why Linda started eating for the first time in her life. She managed to get pregnant by a multi-billionaire and probably gets $50,000/month child support, and probably the French dude bought her a very expensive apartment in the city. This was done to keep Linda quiet and protect the French dude's wife, Salma Hayek, who got pregnant around the same time by the same man as Linda.
She is rich and secure and never needs to water fast to model or to look good to snag a rich man. Imagine how hungry she must be after decades of fasting.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 17, 2020 12:54 AM |
Cindy Crawford ruined her looks with too much plastic surgery. She got her first brow lift in her early 30’s!!
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 17, 2020 12:54 AM |
You're beautiful. You're Linda Evangelista. You're a model.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 17, 2020 12:57 AM |
I wonder if Linda Evangelista got the better deal than Salma Hayek. Imagine being married to an ugly guy who refused to pay for childcare until dragged to court.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 17, 2020 1:09 AM |
She debunked any high-class fantasy you may have had about her speaking voice with her shrill complaining in "Unzipped."

Peter Lindbergh photographed the Supermodel Birth Certificate when George Michael saw this photo on the cover of Vogue and cast them all in his "Freedom 90" video.

R50 this sad queen
by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 17, 2020 6:14 AM |
She has that Yugoslavian Bogdan look with that droopy Slavic nose and wide-set eyes.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | August 17, 2020 6:19 AM |
What’s that? She’s versatile?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 17, 2020 7:03 AM |
She looks good without any makeup. A true natural beauty - no wonder she was so successful. There are few natural beauties.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | August 17, 2020 10:33 AM |
R30, yes, I do. And you just really want to be mean.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 17, 2020 10:37 AM |
She's 55, maybe she doesn't care about being "hot" anymore
by Anonymous | reply 60 | August 17, 2020 5:25 PM |
[quote] Peter Lindbergh photographed the Supermodel Birth Certificate when
I wonder if it’s fun to be that beautiful or mostly just a hassle?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | August 17, 2020 5:32 PM |
R60, if she truly didn't care she wouldn't physically hide away from the world while still engaging with it via social media. Other supermodels who've gained weight (Tyra Banks) or that look significantly older (Lauren Hutton) still put themselves out there. If she really didn't care she would've followed Karen Mulder and Yasmeen Ghuari completely out of the glare of the spotlight.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | August 17, 2020 5:38 PM |
r62, maybe she doesn't want to be in the spotlight. She doesn't model anymore. Does everyone have to be a famewhore who is in the spotlight 24/7?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | August 17, 2020 5:44 PM |
She was stunning in her heyday. The camera loved her and she never took a bad photo. But now she has really hit the wall hard.
She’s also had very little, if any, plastic surgery...so that’s part of why she doesn’t look as great at her age as other Hollywood women.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | August 17, 2020 5:54 PM |
I still remember this photo from Jane magazine:
by Anonymous | reply 66 | August 17, 2020 6:04 PM |
What I love most about Linda is that she was a true model. She did not act in movies (like Cindy or Amber), no music career (like Naomi, remember that disaster?), no books, no fitness videos, or even worse, opening a fashion cafe. None of that bullshit, she was a model's model who loved fashion and the fashion crowd loved her.
Yasmeen Ghauri was another model I adored - wonder what happened to her?
by Anonymous | reply 67 | August 17, 2020 6:22 PM |
R67, Linda was savvy enough to save her acting bullshit for foreign markets...
by Anonymous | reply 68 | August 17, 2020 6:32 PM |
Christy Turlington had a long-term contract with Calvin Klein in the 90s and she talked openly at the time about how it limited the amount of additional modeling she could do.
Which could be why she's not in the supermodel spread at R44
by Anonymous | reply 69 | August 17, 2020 6:33 PM |
469: See R42! The post at R44 was just pointing out that Claudia Schiffer and Helena Christiansen were also supermodels, even though the photo at R42 is referenced as the birth of the suoermodels as we knew them in the 90s (all of them appeared in Freedom '90....Claudia and Helena did not).
Other models in the "expanded litter" include Karen Mulder, Yasmeen Ghuari, Nikki Taylor, Elaine Irwin, and Kristen McNenamy to name a few.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | August 17, 2020 6:42 PM |
Other than a women's basketball team, R44 is probably the only photo of eight women where 5'10 Stephanie Seymour would be the shortest of them all.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | August 17, 2020 6:54 PM |
I remember the first time I saw her. I was doing an internship for Scavullo and this little girl came in the studio and so didn’t think anything at all of her. Just anything at all. Just walked right by. She was so little and rather non descriptive. Nothing special. I went about my duties of getting the studio ready as others arrived. Later I saw the hair and makeup people were around the little girl that had walked in that morning, still really didn’t dawn on me what was going on. Then about 15 minutes later it hit me. I went running back to the makeup area. The “little girl” was Linda Evangelista. She was stunning. Like nothing I’d seen before. Skin so perfect. Features so delicate. But when she came in off the street I just passed her without notice. I had expected her to be much bigger in real life. This was around 1990.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | August 17, 2020 7:17 PM |
There are many to appreciate for various reasons. But no question, Linda Evangelista was the greatest model of them all. She did more than pose or walk. She was a silent film star.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | August 17, 2020 7:31 PM |
My favorite moment in "Catwalk" was the shade showdown between Christy Turlington and Veronica Webb. Veronica notices the cameras following Christy and starts going on about her various on-camera projects. Christy seemed annoyed...which was pretty hilarious.

I love Linda but even I’m sick of the supermodel threads on here. They crop up every few months or so, without fail.
We need to come up with a few more topics.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | August 18, 2020 1:14 AM |
You need to fucking go straight to hell R77. Nobody asked for your participation on this thread mother fucker. Go somewhere else or start one of these topics you think we so desperately need. Nobody wants you here. I hate you R77. I hate your cunt stinking mother too. No one in your stinking family will ever be a super model. Get AIDS NOW R77. NOW!!
by Anonymous | reply 78 | August 18, 2020 1:25 AM |
R78, get AIDS? Seriously? Did R72 really happen or are you lying? I had you blocked before but noticed your posts on the Ignored page. That AIDS comment certainly makes it perfectly clear why I had had you blocked.
