He's a decent actor but there's something incredibly bland and earnest (and thus forgettable) about him.

Looking at his credits, I've actually seen a number of his movies/TV appearances, only to have completely forgotten he/they existed. Though to be fair, he's made a number of really forgettable movies (eg, EVENING, JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB).
