Lake Winola, PA

This is a very pretty little community in Northeast Pennsylvania. Hillary Clinton co-owned a house here until 2013.

Has anyone ever been here?

We drove by it earlier this summer, and I was surprised at how pretty and Cabot Cove'ish it was.

But I've just looked up prices and an empty lot can be $400,000 (maybe because of NY/Philly proximity?).

Lakefront properties like that, all lined up, are embarrassing and inevitably represent a horrible place to spend time.

It's near Scranton---it's not that far from things.

That looks really nice to me and I am very much a beach person. I could enjoy time there on a clean lake. It is clean isn't it? And swimmable?

I live 8 miles from there but have never been. The Clinton Family sold their cottage there a few years ago. It was originally purchased by Hillary's father I think as a summer place. From what I hear it is very well run and the cottages are often passed down through families. I know several people who have places there and their primary house is only 10 to 20 miles away.
