sad

by Anonymousreply 1August 6, 2020 1:53 PM

Glug-glug-glug.

by Anonymousreply 2August 6, 2020 1:58 PM

Pointy and boozy.

They had an air of finality about them.

I was listening to Back to Black just the other day. What a talent. Gone too soon.

Watch the documentary ... all your questions are answered.

by Anonymousreply 5August 6, 2020 2:25 PM

Agreed. Amy (the doc) sheds a lot of light. This seemed like an avoidable tragedy.

I remember she was constantly being followed by paparazzi chasing after Blaaake

Happy ninth year of sobriety, Amy!

by Anonymousreply 8August 6, 2020 3:31 PM

Why was she so messed up?

by Anonymousreply 9August 6, 2020 7:44 PM

The documentary is much much better than I ever expected. It made it very clear that Amy was simply a young, talented girl that had no one in her life to guide her and protect her. She didn't even love doing Back to Black and wanted to be more of a Jazz singer, so she was miserable after that album exploded. Rich but miserable.

by Anonymousreply 10August 6, 2020 8:24 PM

Crusty and unwashed.

by Anonymousreply 11August 6, 2020 8:29 PM

She was not cut out for the fame she achieved. She said so as soon as she started attracting media attention. I think she would have been happier singing in jazz clubs like Ronnie Scott’s, but her success was so overwhelming that the people around her exploited her. The footage of her in Brazil shortly before she died is very sad. She looked ill and intoxicated, in no state to perform. But they let/made her go on stage.

Thank God the jazz world is drug free!

by Anonymousreply 13August 6, 2020 9:02 PM

Whatever happened to her scumbag heroin addict husband?

by Anonymousreply 14August 6, 2020 9:03 PM

I remember when she first appeared on the scene and looked healthy and pretty her looks were criticized. It was so sad
