Josh Hartnett in his 40s

Fine as hell, looks better than he ever has.

He was always adorable.

by Anonymousreply 1August 2, 2020 7:15 PM

Such a hot guy. He speaks like a tool, but one can get past that.

by Anonymousreply 2August 2, 2020 7:15 PM

He tries to be hip and edgy. Doesn’t always succeed. Still cute.

by Anonymousreply 3August 2, 2020 7:18 PM

He has always seemed to have more going on in his head than the normal Hollywood blow-up doll.

by Anonymousreply 4August 2, 2020 7:18 PM

Now I like him even more knowing he’s not a fame whore.

by Anonymousreply 5August 2, 2020 7:21 PM

I was surprised to read in this thread someone reported Josh and [George C. retreating to a bathroom together at a party years ago.

He looks really good in the Quibi series Die Hart. He's aged well and filled out.

by Anonymousreply 7August 2, 2020 9:14 PM

He still looks boyish and cute.

by Anonymousreply 8August 2, 2020 9:17 PM

He's still beautiful after all these years. He always came across as socially awkward and introverted in interviews. Also, his acting tends to be wooden (similar to Keanu Reeves and Ben Affleck) but I respect he chooses more interesting films and TV series to do than typical Hollywood bullshit. Apparently he was said to actually have acted well in Penny Dreadful.

The camera loves him

Sadly, once you hit your 40s, the fact is no matter how hot you were in your 20s, you are now washed up.

by Anonymousreply 11August 2, 2020 9:34 PM

The best thing he ever did was move to London… And out of that shit hole Los Angeles.

by Anonymousreply 12August 2, 2020 9:37 PM

Didn't he have a drug problem too? His career seemed to have dried up in the mid-2000s anyway. He seems to have had a bit of a career resurgence with Penny Dreadful. Maybe he'll be like McConaughey.

by Anonymousreply 13August 2, 2020 9:44 PM

He’s still got it!

by Anonymousreply 14August 2, 2020 10:03 PM

He is still very hot!

by Anonymousreply 15August 2, 2020 10:04 PM

Trailer for Paradise Lost, a TV show he is currently starring in. He is still gorgeous.

by Anonymousreply 17August 2, 2020 10:05 PM

Has he ever shown ass and cock?

by Anonymousreply 18August 2, 2020 10:08 PM

He's shown his ass. I don't think he's shown his cock.

by Anonymousreply 19August 2, 2020 10:10 PM

I remember that movie he was in called 40 Days and 40 Nights where he plays a young guy trying to refrain from sex for Lent. He ends up getting raped by a woman at the end and it's played for laughs (it was early 2000s).

It was a long wait, but looks like the wait was worth it

As a kid I thought he was so hot in that movie where he plays a yoga instructor/detective (holllywood homocidal?).

Probably the most photogenic person I've seen outside of those questionable haircuts he had when young.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 38August 5, 2020 2:43 AM

He's basically a younger Keanu Reeves. Beautiful, photogenic, passive sexual object for the audience. His acting is limited but he's basically a walking aesthetic.

by Anonymousreply 39August 5, 2020 2:47 AM

Pleased to see Hartnett getting work.

"Black Dahlia" would have killed anybody's career. I maintain it put a silver bullet to the heart of Hillary Swank's and she merely had a brief, bizarre cameo in it.

Hartnett and Swank, however, can't blamed for the debacle that is "Black Dahlia". That lies entirely with Brian De Palma.

Hartnett is a gorgeous, appealing man. I don't care that he can't act for shit.

by Anonymousreply 40August 5, 2020 2:59 AM

Why he has never played Tommy Lee Jones' son or younger version, I don't know.

by Anonymousreply 42August 8, 2020 1:14 AM

R41 I love that he's intelligent and well-spoken. Leaving Hollywood definitely helped him grow.

Cocaine.

by Anonymousreply 44August 8, 2020 9:59 AM

bit dumb, turned down batman and spiderman, was offerred many big roles, but preferred to do indie films. now he regrets it, omg all the films he could have made with the batman $$$....bit sad.....alwys loved him....but last decade just icky indie fillms, which can be good, but his are not usually, alas.

by Anonymousreply 45August 8, 2020 11:53 AM

[quote]turned down batman and spiderman

Kind of large to play Spiderman, wouldn't you say?

by Anonymousreply 46August 8, 2020 12:18 PM

Saw him in NYC about 12 years ago, we were both in a small shop in Greenwich Village. He was very beautiful then, not just his face, but his build too. He almost looked like a cartoon or an illustration of the prefect man.

by Anonymousreply 47August 8, 2020 12:28 PM

spiderman was what....20 yrs ago? the first one

if ony josh had played it and not the mediocre vanilla tobey m...

by Anonymousreply 48August 8, 2020 12:37 PM

Yes, I’ve been finding him hot since my teenage years.

by Anonymousreply 49August 8, 2020 1:08 PM

He turned down Superman, not Batman. Warner offered him $20 million IIRC (this was the JJ Abrams script). Of course he was wrong for the role, he doesn’t have the build - too slight in the shoulders.

by Anonymousreply 50August 8, 2020 1:33 PM

He was the lead in the excellent 2006 film Lucky Number Slevin. He spent about 20 minutes early in the film wearing only a towel.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 51August 8, 2020 1:36 PM

He has a huge head and very slight shoulders and pecs in that film... he looks so much better since he’s filled out as he’s gotten older.

by Anonymousreply 52August 8, 2020 1:41 PM

he and ryan phillipe appear to have the secret to youth.....love see ryan deep inside joshs hot asshole...

by Anonymousreply 53August 8, 2020 1:46 PM

Much like Colin Farrell, I never saw the appeal.

by Anonymousreply 54August 8, 2020 2:05 PM

[Quote]He's the Gretchen Mol of actors.

He's got a mole the size of Gretchen's head.

by Anonymousreply 55August 8, 2020 2:20 PM

He is fine and I've always found him a decent actor. He kind of reminds me of a hotter version of Thomas Gibson.

by Anonymousreply 56August 8, 2020 2:21 PM

god ide have loved to see him as batman.....HOT

he said in an interview he just could not handle the fame, and fled to Minnesota

by Anonymousreply 57August 8, 2020 2:28 PM

Whats he derivation? indian maybe, sure stays youthfull huh

by Anonymousreply 58August 8, 2020 7:13 PM

He has Irish, German, Swedish and Norwegian ancestry. Scandinavian ancestry is common in Minnesota. A number of Scandinavians have deep-set almond-shaped eyes and even olive skin possibly from Sami ancestry.

by Anonymousreply 59August 8, 2020 7:19 PM

WATCHING season 2 of penny dreadful with him and the divine eva green, josh so good in it. highly recommend.

by Anonymousreply 60August 9, 2020 2:23 PM

ide eat his ass thru a barb wire fence any dam day of the week.

call me honey

by Anonymousreply 61August 10, 2020 7:22 AM

Ive tried watching some of the 'indie' movies he has made over the years, theyr not much to see, pity he turned down the big roles, they may have offered more bang for the buck.

by Anonymousreply 62August 10, 2020 8:21 AM

He still a mighty fine hunk. send him my way for a full service fukkin and suckin and tuggin.

He still hot enuf to play Superman, or a foe

by Anonymousreply 63August 13, 2020 12:31 AM

When possessed Eva Green was like “...he fucked YOU, didn’t he?”, talking about his night with Dorian, I let out a Princess Diana scream. Yes gawd.

by Anonymousreply 64August 13, 2020 1:42 AM

He is very good looking but kind of charisma free? Keanu Reeves cant act but he can command the screen, even in bad movies. He was very pretty and was photographed really nicely in that awful Wicker Park, I looked up his other movies and he was wooden in almost everything.

by Anonymousreply 65August 13, 2020 3:22 AM

I dont understand his phobia bout bein in big movies. His indie stuff is no go.

by Anonymousreply 66August 13, 2020 4:40 AM

I watched August. An indie film he made and it was boring and the plot barely was coherent. He was beautiful and had a shirtless scene and love scene. So I didn't complain.

by Anonymousreply 67August 13, 2020 4:49 AM

What happened between Josh and George Clooney? Josh never got any of the PDA that Noah, Mark, Sam and even Channing received and Randy still receives. Was Josh relegated to Waldo status of stay out of sight?

by Anonymousreply 68August 31, 2020 6:39 PM

It seems dark hair and dark eyes is the secret to aging well as Josh Hartnett, Matt Dillon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Justin Long, Zachary Levi and George Clooney all still look good.

Love the house - but it’s 4,100 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms...and priced at $4.4 million?

Where in Los Angeles is it located?

by Anonymousreply 71September 1, 2020 9:21 PM

The director of Penny Dreadful got a lot of good performances out of the actors. Josh could have been really wooden in that role, but was not and Patty LuPone in her guest role could have eaten the set and gave a restrained performance. Green, Daly, Frankenstein's monster etc. were all good.

by Anonymousreply 72September 1, 2020 9:33 PM

He was good in The Faculty playing the drug dealing teen who saves the day with Elijah Wood. I noticed he does a lot of horror films including Penny Dreadful. That's a good niche to have. I would like to see him play more villain roles. He could pull off an evil vampire or werewolf.

by Anonymousreply 73October 8, 2020 5:06 AM

I had never given this a second thought but some brilliant DLer said that one element to help you look young is eyebrows. Apparently they thin when you get older. Josh has strong brows, all american, handsome face

by Anonymousreply 74October 8, 2020 5:48 AM

I really loved The Faculty.

by Anonymousreply 75October 9, 2020 12:15 AM

He lives in Peckham now, a shithole in South East London. I see him occasionally in the park. He looks amazing.

by Anonymousreply 76October 9, 2020 12:18 AM

He definitely has gotten better with age.

by Anonymousreply 79October 24, 2020 2:23 AM

He seemed to be hinting that he had a go round (willingly) with the casting couch.

by Anonymousreply 80October 24, 2020 2:31 AM

Maybe, he was goodlooking then, but not THAT goodlooking, he is also kind of bland, and while a decent actor, he is very limited. I never understood why he got the big push, maybe had something to do with Harvey Weinstein, but it just wasnt organic. Same with Matthew Mcconaughey then, the media blitz didnt feel real.

by Anonymousreply 81October 24, 2020 2:48 AM

I would still let him pump my face

by Anonymousreply 82October 24, 2020 8:10 PM

He's one of those people who is blessed with good looks which helped make up for his very socially awkward and inward-thinking personality.
