I just watched Six Feet Under again for the first time since it aired originally. I remember disliking his character quite a bit ( though I loved the chemistry between Peter and Rachel Griffith), and I identified more with David. But he surprised me with his depth of feeling on SFU. I still remember when he broke up with his difficult and complicated wife and fell in love with a less fucked up Quaker chick. He said something about a meaningful relationship not involving fighting and drama. He played a character who was evolving very convincingly and I find that very sexy.

Peter Krause and Garrett Dillahunt (the father on Raising Hope) are very similar in my mind.

I have never gotten so emotional over a tv show or cared about characters on a tv show as much as I did Six Feet Under. That was a brilliant, beautiful series. The entire cast was flawless.

I love the one where Nate confesses his illness to David. Nate was the one in need and David became the strong one.
