Discuss

by Anonymousreply 93July 28, 2020 12:26 AM

Oh yes LETS discuss sexuality rumors of two men who would be in their 120's if they weren't already long dead, who lost their sex appeal 7 decades ago.

by Anonymousreply 1July 23, 2020 1:14 AM

R1 fuck off, Is it important that they have to be alive?

I'd love to talk about Delon, fascinating case.

by Anonymousreply 2July 23, 2020 1:18 AM

R2 Exactly! DL has become full of dumb trolls.

by Anonymousreply 3July 23, 2020 1:25 AM

Shakespeare being gay isn’t very interesting?🧐

by Anonymousreply 4July 23, 2020 1:37 AM

Cary Grant has always been fascinating ( I still wish he hadn't turned down the Norman Maine role in A Star Is Born, he would have been perfect). On the other hand, I NEVER saw the appeal of Cooper, who played the same role every time he was on screen.

by Anonymousreply 5July 23, 2020 1:37 AM

You all type faggy.

by Anonymousreply 6July 23, 2020 1:41 AM

Gary had the biggest cock in Hollywood an’ no ass t’push it with. . . . He’s hung like a horse and he can go all night. . . .

by Anonymousreply 7July 23, 2020 2:00 AM

Was Cary bi? I don't think so. Gay.

by Anonymousreply 8July 23, 2020 2:08 AM

[quote]You all type faggy.

Thank god!

by Anonymousreply 9July 23, 2020 2:10 AM

Cary Grant and Randolph Scott were a couple not Gary Cooper guys.

by Anonymousreply 10July 23, 2020 2:14 AM

Cooper used to attend George Cukor's Sunday boys parties until he stopped.

by Anonymousreply 11July 23, 2020 2:17 AM

Grant was at least bi...he was married to Barbara Hutton. They referred to them as Cash and Cary.

by Anonymousreply 12July 23, 2020 2:19 AM

So what? Many gay men marry. More than once.

by Anonymousreply 13July 23, 2020 2:23 AM

Looks like Darwin Porter is posting here.

by Anonymousreply 14July 23, 2020 2:26 AM

Both were very handsome.

by Anonymousreply 15July 23, 2020 2:30 AM

Coop had affairs with openly gay actor Anderson Lawler (whose brother confirmed their relationship) and Cecil Beaton (his diaries revealed their long-standing relationship) circulated for years.

by Anonymousreply 16July 23, 2020 2:31 AM

^^ that queen Beaton? Oh, no, no no.

by Anonymousreply 17July 23, 2020 2:35 AM

R6 I can still take my phone dialing pencil and poke your fucking eyes out, though.

by Anonymousreply 18July 23, 2020 2:37 AM

Anderson Lawler was kind of fug. Cooper could've done much better.

by Anonymousreply 19July 23, 2020 2:38 AM

Ugly men are often hot in bed !

by Anonymousreply 20July 23, 2020 2:39 AM

I prefer them hot, scorpio and bipolar.

by Anonymousreply 21July 23, 2020 2:51 AM

R22 'gentleman' does not include fucking each other in the derriere; nor sucking cock; nor any sex outside marriage. A gentleman is a man as he should be.

by Anonymousreply 24July 23, 2020 2:55 AM

Ménage à trois according to actor William Janney:

"It was after a party and a lot of drinking had been going on. After much to drink, they all went to a place to spend the night. There were two beds in the room. Janney slept in one and in the other bed was Cooper (in the middle), Vélez, and Anderson Lawler. During the night, Janney heard a lot of giggling going on. The next morning, he asked Lawler what had gone on in the bed. Lawler said Lupe was “sucking Cooper off while I was fucking him in the ass.”"

by Anonymousreply 25July 23, 2020 3:00 AM

R1...I'd like to talk... about... MADELINE ASHTON...

by Anonymousreply 26July 23, 2020 3:05 AM

What was Anderson Lawler's best film?

by Anonymousreply 27July 23, 2020 3:09 AM

I read Dyan Cannon's bio and she diplomatically says that she never saw any of it if gayness was a part of her life.

She does detail how he got her to try LSD then abandoned her when she had a bad trip and her parents had to put her in a psych ward.

by Anonymousreply 28July 23, 2020 4:13 AM

“An Affair To Remember: My Life With Cary Grant” by his mistress Maureen Donaldson it’s far more interesting, with juicy details. And yeah she suspected that he was bi or gay.

by Anonymousreply 29July 23, 2020 4:19 AM

Someone read Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Live of the Stars by Scotty Bowers?

by Anonymousreply 30July 23, 2020 3:49 PM

R30 I read Scotty's book. My impression was that a lot of the stuff was true, but that he'd embellished a good bit, and remembered things that had never happened.

by Anonymousreply 31July 23, 2020 4:00 PM

Agreed, r19....

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 32July 23, 2020 4:01 PM

R30 I flipped it through. Scotty basically said Cary and Randolph were a couple but only into oral, no anal. Can't remember if he said anything gay about Gary Cooper.

by Anonymousreply 33July 23, 2020 4:42 PM

Cooper was alleged to be one of the best lays in Hollywood, in the parlance of the day, "a real stick man". He had torrid affairs with female co-stars - his affair with Patricia Neal nearly broke up his long-time marriage. Along with men like Glenn Ford, he had his pick of a stable of women, and he was far more sophisticated than many of his roles suggest - he had a fantastic art collection and was extremely well-educated. He grew up in the West, on a ranch, but a large one that his father owned - as a result he was already an expert rider when he went to Hollywood, which helped him get parts in westerns. He was no bumpkin and went to school in England when he left the ranch.

He was a sensualist and I don't doubt satisfied his curiosity. But gay? Not. Not even bi.

Grant and Scott were an entirely different matter. They loved each other more than either of them ever loved any woman.

As for Barbara Hutton and Cash and Cary: she said he was the only one of her many husbands who never took advantage of her wealth and bowed out like a gentleman.

by Anonymousreply 34July 23, 2020 4:51 PM

What's the point? Are you going to try having sex with them in your next life, OP?

by Anonymousreply 35July 23, 2020 5:50 PM

R35 You're not gonna have sex with Chalamet or Cavill too

by Anonymousreply 36July 23, 2020 5:55 PM

R34, Gary Cooper was also reportedly the best rifle shot in Hollywood.

I remember reading a long time back a story from a fellow actor who was sitting next to Cooper at a meeting of the Screen Actors Guild.

He was surprised to see that Cooper was sketching through the meeting and noticed that GC was a talented artist.

by Anonymousreply 37July 23, 2020 6:00 PM

R35 🖕🏻

by Anonymousreply 38July 23, 2020 6:02 PM

R31 I haven't read the book but I saw a movie Scotty and the secret hostory of holllywood and he is talking only about old stars. He used to be alfons until 80s, I suppose. But he is only taking about people who are dead. "I had tree some with Lana Turner and Ava Gardner, I fucked Edgar J Hoover in a drag. I fucked Bette Davis and her husband too and Vivien Leigh"

by Anonymousreply 39July 23, 2020 6:12 PM

by Anonymousreply 42July 23, 2020 6:36 PM

These threads are so tired....EVERYONE knows that Cary Grant was gay (a gay man who married a lot of women, whatever)—and Gary Cooper had a huge dick and—with those looks—was propositioned by every person in Hollywood, and didn't say no very often. SO?????

by Anonymousreply 43July 23, 2020 6:44 PM

So, R43, in the entire current crop of instahos, movie "stars," and celebrities, there's not a one that can hold a candle to either Grant or Cooper in their prime. They were beautiful, they were charismatic, and they had style and mystery.

Let us daydream.

by Anonymousreply 44July 23, 2020 6:47 PM

I feel like the comments on DL are starting to resemble what you see on Yahoo: all hate, all the time. It's beyond pointless bitchery and snark.

I have Scotty’s book on kindle, so it’s not a problem for me to share some stories about Cary and Randy.

by Anonymousreply 47July 23, 2020 7:21 PM

Cary Grant was as suave in real life as he was on the screen. He was the quintessential Mr. Smooth. He was forty years old when I met him and everything he did was executed in precise, dapper, and debonair style. Perhaps the most well-known films that he had starred in by then were Gunga Din and The Philadelphia Story. He would walk into the room and the ambience would change immediately. You instinctively felt a presence, an indefinable sense of classiness, whenever he appeared. He was married to Barbara Hutton at the time, although she wasn’t around when I met him. That did not surprise me. The day I was introduced to him he was actually sharing the house with another actor, Randolph Scott. Need I say more? Randy Scott took an instant liking to me. He was a ruggedly handsome man of forty-six who, well over six feet tall, towered over me. He had carved a very successful career for himself primarily in Westerns, with more than fifty films to his credit. He was a big guy but as sweet as can be. He was married to Patricia Stillman, who was also not around that day, and it was patently clear to me that he and Cary Grant were more than mere friends. The proof arrived that first weekend that I spent with them. The three of us got into a lot of sexual mischief together. Aside from the usual sucking—neither of them were into fucking, at least not fucking guys, or at least not me—what I remember most about that first encounter was that Scott really liked to cuddle, and talk, and was very gentle. Grant was nice as well, though Scott was even more of a gentleman. He even drove me back down the coast to Camp Elliott in San Diego on Sunday evening—a four-hour drive each way, undertaken during the difficulties of wartime gas rationing. I really liked those two men, and they were obviously very good for one another. In future years I would be seeing a lot of them. Theirs was a relationship that would last a long time, with the two of them eventually sharing a home together behind the famed Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood as well as the Malibu beach house. I don’t know if their wives ever knew what was going on between them. I never asked.

by Anonymousreply 48July 23, 2020 7:30 PM

Both Gary Cooper and his wife, nicknamed Rocky, were bisexual and gatherings at their home became fodder for Hollywood gossips. It didn't hurt Coop because he was the biggest star around at the time. Two Oscars, sweetheart!

by Anonymousreply 49July 23, 2020 7:35 PM

I don't think Gary was gay and he was only bisexual if getting some blow jobs from men counts. Otherwise, everyone knows he fucked thousands of women, from the time he was a teenager up until he got terminal cancer.

by Anonymousreply 50July 23, 2020 7:38 PM

Mock Anderson Lawler's pursed prissy lips all you want. He gave Gary the best BJs in Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 51July 23, 2020 7:46 PM

Randolph Scott and Cary Grant were both gorgeous. I can't imagine an equivalent masculine, yet beautiful, couple today.

by Anonymousreply 52July 23, 2020 8:55 PM

Betsy Drake Grant when asked if Cary Grant was gay: "I don't know, we were always too busy fucking for me to ask.'

by Anonymousreply 53July 23, 2020 9:03 PM

Cary Grant lived with Randolph Scott much longer than he lived with any of his wives. They sure were a beautiful couple.

R45

Trolls come from both sides of fence; besides what do you expect there are only but so many ways to beat a dead horse.

There are at least three recent threads on DL about Cary Grant and or Gary Cooper and pages upon pages of search hits turn up in a wider DL search using Google, Bing, or whatever.

Everyone from Hollywood Babylon (not a truly creditable , but one of many scores anyway) have covered period or recent tittle-tattle about Cary Grant's presumed bisexuality or homosexuality. When, unless or until someone comes up with something more substantial, such as photographic evidence, there's nothing more to say.

by Anonymousreply 63July 23, 2020 11:23 PM

R63 photographic evidence?hahahah why women care so much about their favourite actors being heterosexual?

by Anonymousreply 64July 23, 2020 11:26 PM

Isn't a matter of caring or whatever, just that unless some new evidence is uncovered all this talk is just that, and nothing more.

R71 I know that silly story. But it is only talkin. Where is the proof?

by Anonymousreply 72July 24, 2020 12:22 AM

Cary-gay, but kept trying and trying to be the manly "normal" that he appeared. from an underprivileged background, so striving. had to keep up appearances for career and image.

Gary-bi, and didn't give a fuck what anyone thought. from a good background, so had nothing to prove. seems not to have cared much about the acting thing, it's just something he fell into and probably wouldn't have cared if it were something else.

by Anonymousreply 73July 24, 2020 12:49 AM

I'm sure many eldergays remember Mr. Blackwell and his 10 Worst Dressed Women List. In his memoirs, From Rags to Bitches, he said he stayed with Cary and Randy at their Santa Monica beachhouse when he was a young man in his 20s trying to break into show biz. He says he joined in gay fun with both men, but said they really did love each other.

Blackwell was a street kid from the New York born Richard Selzer. His partner of 60 years was also his business manager. He died in 2006 at 86.

R61, not only big dick face but also lovely hands and apparently quite the lover (with women, though).

by Anonymousreply 77July 24, 2020 6:39 AM

by Anonymousreply 87July 24, 2020 3:28 PM

Cary Grant was way too suave and dapper to be straight. I think he was bi. Loved women too because he could charm the pants off them. Clooney comes close to Grant but not quite. Also bi IMO.

by Anonymousreply 88July 27, 2020 6:07 AM

Scotty Bowers was a bartender as well. I think that's how he made initial contacts.

He also bartended BH parties. So yes, he knew everybody. He was extremely well-liked.

by Anonymousreply 89July 27, 2020 6:57 AM

Gary Cooper was an interesting guy who lived an interesting life. He grew up on the Montana range, doing cowboy stuff, but his parents were English immigrants from good families, who sent their sons back to Blighty for a good "public" school education, a background which IMHO equipped him to play characters all over the social class scale. Cooper was a talented artist and wanted to be a political cartoonist, but ended up doing cowboy extra work and stunts in movies for some reason. Tall and handsome in a slightly androgynous way, with his long eyelashes and pouty lips, he was reported to be well hung and could well be said to have slept his way up in Hollywood, due to his affairs with Clara Bow, Lupe Velez, and Lawler.

He had a long and interesting career and a long marriages, which was regularly interrupted with affairs with co-stars. Sadly, he was never in the best of health, a car accident in his twenties left him with enough broken bones to cause chronic pain, and when he was older he suffered from high blood pressure and heart disease. Some time in the 1950s he quietly told a pretty co-star that if he expected her to make a pass at her she'd be disappointed, his heart medication had made him impotent. How the mighty wang had fallen.
