This guy makes the best observations no one is talking about regarding the case. Listen to his take on Prince Andrew's interview, worth the watch.
Yeah, I'm not sitting through 15 min.
Cliff Notes, OP.

It's no big secret how Epstein made his fortune, he started at one hedge fund and then went out on his own and handled the accounts of former billionaire clients.
Please take your Eric Weinsten Peter Thiel conspiracy mongering ass out of here, OP.

Weinstein comes across as arrogant and a bit of a prick, but smart as hell. I know nothing about his work for Thiel, however.
I do think he's on to something with Epstein.

No, he sounds like a stupid person's idea of an intellectual. Like Jordan Peterson.
[quote]Conspiracy theories are a frequent element of Weinstein's stated opinions, both in connection to his career and in general. For example, Weinstein believes that his and his wife's efforts in economics, his own theories in physics, and his brother Bret's research in biology are of "Nobel quality" but have been excluded from mainstream peer reviewed channels by the nefarious scientific establishment.
[quote]Repressed genius
[quote]For years as a mathematician he has said that he has some kind of theory of everything that will knock everyone out and overturn the field of physics, but he just can't publish it yet because the world isn't ready, and the information will only be suppressed.[4]
[quote]Bret Weinstein Deserved a Nobel Prize
[quote]Weinstein believes his brother Bret Weinstein was in line for a Nobel Prize, but was undermined by a peer review conspiracy and a female Nobel Prize winner.[5][6]
[quote]Views on Truthers
[quote]Weinstein also doesn't understand some things about 9/11, and thinks we need to just ask more questions. But don't you dare call him a Truther.[7]
[quote]Conspiratorial views on doctors
[quote]“”We have entered a period in which we cannot trust our experts....We have two generations of institutional experts that are corrupted and that we can not wake up from that crazy fever dream because we can't figure out who we can still trust. The doctors are compromised, the professors are compromised, the journalists are compromised, the politicians are compromised."
[quote]Wacky political views
[quote]Billy Bragg challenge Weinstein challenged progressive musician Billy Bragg to bring him onto the stage of his next concert to debate him. Because, people who go to concerts with their dates would just love to hear the musician interrupt the show for a fifteen minute argument with some rando about what they talked about on Twitter.[9]
[quote]Worried about fertility
[quote]Weinstein is worried about all the young women in their 20s and 30s who are not prioritizing being a baby making machine motherhood. As a public intellectual he thinks breasts being sexy is essential to being human, and is annoyed with women who have PhDs who are called doctors even though they're not part of STEM like he is.

R1, he thinks Prince Andrew's botched interview was a Hail Mary deliberate attempt to send a message.

He's dourly hilarious and right.

He is 1000% correct on this statement.

So wait, who was the chubby guy with the hair? Eric Weinstein? He was really interesting. Was he saying that there is some secret part of the US government (not CIA or FBI, more secret like something out of Scandal) that put Epstein in a position to get dirt on world leaders?

Eric Weinstein was obnoxious ( I eventually had to turn it off) and a bit prone to seeing deep conspiracies (for instance, his insisting that Prince Andrew was sending secret messages by giving that weird interview) but he had a couple of good points.
He noted (and he isn't the only one) that Epstein didn't really seem to be an investment advisor/hedge fund manager at all, so why was he pretending to be.
Although there was decent money in the Epstein estate (circa 600 million) his lifestyle (private island, a huge compound out west, the biggest townhouse in Manhattan, the fleet of private jets) was that of a much, much richer person -- again the question is why (and to some extent how).
There may have been more, but between his rudeness to his interviewer and the godawful rug on his head, I had to stop watching.

Gasbag. And I agree the wig is distracting and so ridiculous.

Pompous but makes some good points. I’ve been fascinated by the Epstein case and anyone who reads or listens to anything about it over time will ask the same questions Epstein does. How come his lifestyle was so far beyond his apparent finances ? It does seem like a construct. Why is there no investigation into possible connections with secret services, which were mentioned initially, but not followed up on at all.
And yes, we are told Maxwell had more than one passport and these are now in the possession of the authorities so how do these reflect her movements ? Or had she really just been living conveniently under everyone’s’ noses ?
I’d have to watch the Andrew interview again because, odd as it was, I really thought at the time it was just because he is clearly an utter arsehole. Hell, anything to distract from the half life under Covid.

Oops...same questions Weinstein does !

Yes, Weinstein is clearly a smart man, but quite insufferable. He's like the unapproachable professor you had at college. What's the fucking point? Lose the attitude.
I wish Weinstein had talked more about the shell game Epstein was playing with his assets. Were they just recycled from Robert Maxwell's fortune, which was stolen from his employees pension fund? What about Wexner, the owner of Victoria's Secret? Why did he give Epstein power of attorney? It is rather curious that no journalist is looking at the paper trail, or will ask the obvious questions. Hopefully, someone who wants to make a name for himself (think of Geraldo Rivrera) will do some digging.

That guy was appallingly rude and self-righteous. There was no reason to sneer so heavily at the interviewer. Weinstein made some valid points, but it's not like he's the only person who ever asked them, lots of people have said those same things.

Weinstein appears to be an Aspie, so I will forgive his demeanor.

Weinstein asked every, great question that the media should uncover except for this one:

He’s hysterical. It’s true. No one knows how or why Epstein became so powerful and wealthy. I think he was trading sex and then using blackmail of big figures and governments and made even more money to trade even more sex. He and Ghislaine were complete grifters. There probably are no records of Jeffrey’s “hedge fund.” He started as the boytoy if that billionaire, billed him and went on to blackmail others. Not sure how the FBI will deal with the fact that Clinton and Trump were pedophile clients.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 16, 2020 8:42 PM |
Epstein didn't have a hedge fund. He didn't invest for lots of people. No one actually remembers him trading at all after he left Bear Stern in 1981. Evidently if you trade on Wall St, people know about it. They know about your big trades. No one can ever a big trade (or little) for that matter
The only person he may have invested for was Les Wexner. But even if he did, it was very basic trading. Nothing that anyone remembers. He didn't buy any companies
