Behold! VANTABLACK!

Vantablack is a material made from carbon nanotubes that reflect virtually no light. The light literally gets trapped within the molecular structure of the material. It is considered the blackest black in existence absorbing up to 99.965% of visible light.

Current applications are in aerospace and defense, but with clear commercial potential for apparel, art, and vehicles.

It's also highly carcinogenic if inhaled.

R5! You're not even looking at or even saying anything about his VANTABLACK hole!

by Anonymousreply 7July 15, 2020 10:54 PM

The vantablack couldn't restrain that nipple of his! Some things are too powerful for the universe.

by Anonymousreply 8July 15, 2020 11:12 PM

OP - so there is a market for carcinogenic "apparel, art, and vehicles"?? In particular - apparel is always going to shed fibers, which will be inhaled.

by Anonymousreply 12July 16, 2020 12:51 AM

Well inventions just don't just come into existence and then cease to progress R12. They are constantly approved upon.

by Anonymousreply 13July 16, 2020 12:59 AM

^improved is what I meant!

by Anonymousreply 14July 16, 2020 12:59 AM

Old news. I read about this years ago.

by Anonymousreply 15July 16, 2020 1:01 AM

I want to see a big fat white guy in a vantablack speedo.

by Anonymousreply 16July 16, 2020 1:03 AM

It’s totally black until it gets anything on it. You think that car at R11 is black? Just wait until a bird shits on it and you’ll see how black it really is.

by Anonymousreply 17July 16, 2020 1:10 AM

well that would be true of any color that wasn't "bird shit white" R17. You're covering the original material.

This thread made me remember Vartan Gregorian.
