What is nonbinary?
I should avoid Twitter, but that's hard to do. So today is Nobinary Peoples Day. I shouldn't care, but I kind of do. It seems to be people just dressing up and sharing pictures. I don't get it. I'm gay. Isn't it more than just appearance? I'm confused.
+ be nice please

I've never gotten it either. Based on feelings, I gather: "I don't FEEL like a man OR a woman." as though they know what it feels like to be anything other than what they are. Heck, most people couldn't even distinguish which of their own feelings are unique to their gender.
I ultimately view it as a moot point. There are two biological sexes, no more, no less. Anything else is posturing.

Non binary means you don't conform to typical gender specifics. Meaning if you're a girl you don't like dolls and dresses and if you're a boy you don't like trucks and video games. What they fail to realise is that they are infact enforcing these gender specific things by saying they can't be a girl because they like to play PlayStation.

It means one is desperate for attention, OP

Non binary people are narcissists who believe in conservative gender role distribution and crave attention because they don’t align with those roles.
Non binary people are narcissists who draw attention to themselves by making their physical appearance as unattractive as possible, such as dying their hair horrible colours or wearing ugly, unflattering clothes.
Non binary people are narcissists who hold society responsible for them being dissatisfied with life and want to make other people’s lives as miserable as theirs.

[quote] Non binary means you don't conform to typical gender specifics.
Wouldn't that be gender non-conforming, though? Which I'm sure they would argue is unique from non-binary. The former is about behavior, the latter is about identity.

I feel like this {queer} generation is using their identity as a critique against gender norms, patriarchy, sexuality, etc. Which is fine, I guess. But people like me suffice said critique in our belief systems like feminism, for instance.
I said this in another thread but I still struggle to understand how non-binary people are a protected class. If you present as a man or a woman, whatever discrimination you experience probably stems from the subjugation of gay men and, of course, women.

It's a made-up term analyzing to binary numbers of 0 and 1 and that the person is neither 0 or 1. Just replace Male and Female for 0 and 1.
The problem is - yes, they are. And a man in makeup is not shocking or different or new.
It's a younger generation thinking they are edgey and different without realizing that this is as old as dirt and that no one is impressed.

It means you're straight but you want to receive oppression points too without having to do anything else.

Thanks everyone
I have to agree. It seems like they think that there is only one way to be woman and one way to be man, which to me undermines the idea it's okay to be different and still seen as normal. Oh well

I have a hard time grasping the concept. Other than what you desire to do with other people sexually (which defines sexuality), what does it mean to feel like a man or feel like a woman? Most of the time, gender is not that important in terms of non-sexual interactions.
I wonder if some people are just more comfortable “defining” themselves as female rather than a gay bottom when they want some dick.

Poor OP, as a gay man are you also confused about Mother's Day, Father's Day, or Earth Day?
I know. The world outside your bubble is a scary and confusing world. Better stay in your bubble for as long as possible.

r4 You know "it" was considered offensive so they came up with "they/them". Now they're taking back the pronoun "it". But probably will still come at you for being enbiephobic/transphobic for using it accidently or maliciously.
