I just watched a movie of his a few weeks ago on YouTube. Jane Powell was a hot little number in it too.
Gorgeous man with a very nice body.

Only out once he was outed by a tabloid (with permission of his studio—I think they agreed to it in exchange for the rag being silent about a bigger star and a scandal). He then lived an out life and wrote pulpy, but fun gay sci-fi. He probably ended up with a happier life than some of the closeted ones. He was never much of an actor (though very handsome), so he probably didn’t have a long expiration date anyway.

He was a contract player at Universal. Earnest actor. I remember seeing him in “The Second Greatest Sex,” a routine comedy musical, in 1955. I also remember him on “Ellery Queen,” a TV detective series.
Decades later, I saw him in “Away All Boats” (1956) on TV, opposite hunky Jeff Chandler. War movie about guys on a destroyer. Nader was stripped to the waist at one point. His body was ripped, with a six pack. Very rare for a 50’s actor to look so muscled.
He was open, with a longterm partner. I have a novel he wrote, “Chrome,” which is florid sci-fi porn. He seemed to be loyal to his friends, very close to Rock Hudson. Seems to have lived an honorable life.

He was in a lot of B movies and very handsome with a great natural body. I remember him best from a guest spot on Andy Griffith as a new doctor in town and in a 50’s TV show, Man and the Challenge.
Always good photos on Brian’s

Poor George got stuck in some grade-Z movies, like the infamous "Robot Monster". The producer had little money for costumes, so he just stuck a gorilla mask on top of a robot for his creature. Beyond bad.

Rock Hudson and George Nader back in the 1950's.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 14, 2020 3:08 AM |
Robot Monster was one of his few memorable starring roles. He later made detective films in Germany.
He wasn't a horrible actor, but also not a great one. A contact player at Universal usually meant dead end in those days. A little later and he would have done cookie cutter television.

Is he the one who the Manson family targeted for some reason but they fucked it up by knocking on the wrong apartment door?
Maybe he picked one of them up hitchhiking.

He was a bareback bottom, wasn’t he?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 16, 2020 1:38 AM |
OP, how can you claim he was 'openly gay'?
He was a closet on screen.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 16, 2020 1:42 AM |
He looks different in almost all these photos. R13 looks like a hunky Tommy Lee Jones. R11 brings to mind Milton Berle.

I do hope Dame Maggie will get it together and hire a secretary so she can dictate a tell-all memoir.
She's had some experience of dealing with homosexuals And she could do with the money as she has a net worth of only $18 mil compared to that pigmy Judi Dench who's sitting on $35 mill.

He's Esther Williams' leading man in her dramatic color noir-ish suspense film The Unguarded Moment (why does the DVD look so washed out?). "The pretty teacher and the boy who grew up too fast!"

Michael Nader of Dynasty fame and All My Children fame was his nephew,as r22 mentioned.

I get a kick out of seeing Michael Nader in all those moronic Beach Party movies with Frankie and Annette, as well as the old Gidget TV show.
