Ball cancer, I'm afraid. He had it all over.

Pancreatic cancer. It's one of the deadliest types of cancer one can get. Few people survive longer than 5 years once diagnosed with it. It's also what killed Patrick Swayze.

I heard that it was breast cancer, which is why he took so many opportunities to bare those beautiful brown melons before they cut them off.

Pa, I'll be waiting for you out in the barn, in the hay loft

I watched reruns of Bonanza when young and he was so hot as Little Joe.
I was shocked to learn he was Jewish only because of his roles in "wholesome" Christian entertainment like Bonanza, Little House and Highway to Heaven. But apparently he was pretty faithful to Judaism and wasn't really that religious either. Highway to Heaven was pretty progressive and was more of a secular golden rule type of show that encouraged tolerance and understanding at least from what I remember.

His illness is pretty well documented on Wikipedia. Pancreatic cancer.

R12 But some demented queen asks the same question about AIDS every fucking time.

Alison Arngrim has a great sense of humor.
She's joked about his not wearing underwear and tight pants in her book amongst other places.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 22, 2020 8:23 AM |
Underwear wasn't invented yet.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 22, 2020 8:35 AM |
Who wears underwear in a book?

It was definitely pancreatic cancer. I saw him on Johnny Carson right after he was diagnosed. He had that afterglow of hope that he was going to beat it, etc.
I nearly cried when he jumped off the couch and started doing one hand push ups because he felt so great

He used to sell himself off to '60s and '70s charities as Little Joe from Bonanza, bawling for donations for some charities yet getting profit weekends in luxury suites and VIP accommodations. Michael Landon was only as "charitable" as his hangers on allowed the false Little House cretin father to bawl himself.

Aren't Scorpio men like Landon exceptionally hot ?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 22, 2020 1:16 PM |
His son has a nice big cock.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 22, 2020 1:20 PM |
Michael Landon was absolutely my earliest gay stirrings. I was always hoping Pa would get banged up and break some ribs so he had to spend the rest of the episode with his shirt off.

FIVE years? Most people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer usually never live that long. A close friend who had this horrible cancer died less than a year after being diagnosed. The man always ate healthy foods, never smoked, was in shape and rarely drank. He had a relative who died of pancreatic cancer, it seems to be hereditary.

Alex Trebek has pancreatic cancer. He's still hanging in there.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 22, 2020 1:56 PM |
R32 Yes; that's why I said "few people survive longer than 5 years." That's the best case scenario.
My father had prostate cancer and lived for 10 years without any issues. Then it spread to his pancreas and he was dead within a month.

He had gay face from space so no doubt it was the aids.

Michael Landon, James Dean and Elvis Presley all seemed to want to be like Marlon Brando

If he was dying of AIDS-related cancer, he would have stayed silent and denied he was sick until his last day. It was still a death sentence in 1991.
But with pancreatic cancer, his ego let him think he could beat it. He put up a hell of a fight, and brought more awareness of the disease.
I had an uncle diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1995. He lasted six weeks, poor guy.

[quote]Alex Trebek has pancreatic cancer. He's still hanging in there.
Sure, but wasn't he diagnosed last year? Plus, Alex is rich and famous I'm sure he has access to experimental treatment and trials that the average person with pancreatic cancer sure doesn't have access to.
All these horrible diseases, many which I never heard of in my childhood, must surely be a result of all the garbage in our foods, the antibiotics given to animals, the chemicals sprayed on our fruits/vegetables and the polluted environment. Yet, our schmuck of a 'president' continues to roll back even more environmental protection laws, while he's trying to abolish the AHCA. Seems a lot of us will die way before our time.
Cancer is a billion dollar industry, why would anyone try to look for a cure?
I have four young distant cousins (they are children) with autism and several people I was close to have died from Alzheimers and pancreatic cancer. One person was only in their early 50s when they were diagnosed with Alzheimers.
When I was a child, all my much older relatives (great aunts and uncles) lived well into their 80s and 90s, they died of old age or heart disease due to smoking. No one had cancer or Alzheimers.

Isn't survival dependent on when pancreatic cancer is discovered?
Fame & fortune could account for survival rates re other types of cancer and diseases, but given pancreatic cancer's very low survival rate, I don't think all the money in the world can save you if you discover it too late.

I have no idea if it was AIDS. Could have been. So many deaths that were attributed to other illnesses were indeed AIDS related. He had a few rumors about dabbling with men but mostly that he was a bit of a prick. He was a gorgeous man, though. Shame that his son has stooped to throwing dick pics up on the net. As nice of a dick that it is it’s a shame that so many children of famous parents become so desperate.

I watched I Was A Teenaged Werewolf and it's basically Rebel Without A Cause but with a werewolf theme and no gay undertones. Campy and cheesy. Landon was gorgeous in it though.
