Why does every modern-day monster either go to Harvard or have some sinister connection to it?
Even if the monsters went to another ivy-league school, there is always some connection.
Why do they produce and cultivate such evil?

Ambitious, high achieving teenagers would tend to include a large percentage of amoral sociopaths.

What’s with them fluffing Dertz? They should have ditched the dead weight decades ago.

Easy. Rich people have no morals. It passed down generation to generation through succession planning.

I get chills thinking about the evil that comes from those halls. It’s like if the devil has his own academy.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 6, 2020 4:58 PM |
also, why aren’t there many hot men that go to Harvard?
I always though it would be a hotbed of studs and models but it was a let-down. Fug central.

My friend goes to NYU and the stories he tells me of homophobia and racism is nuts. He said “NYU has this reputation of being this big liberal University so you think those people who go there are just that, but then you go and see most are white people from Middle America or the South or North and aren’t cultured, or open minded etc.”.
He is Middle Eastern and straight and says he hears so many homophobic comments when it’s just him and his straight buddies. He always defends gays but they laugh at him.

They just let anybody in with a pulse now. It’s no longer elite.
There are community colleges that are harder to get into.
What a fall from grace.

Do they teach students how to be evil and take advantage of vulnerable people? How to lie, cheat and steal?
Or is that a prerequisite?

Either their parent(s) attended so they get admission is guaranteed as a 'legacy' or they're a showpiece minority. There is no middle ground. When someone is introduced as being from Harvard - if they are younger than 60 - I'm not interested. They are either legacy or showpiece.

R11, and I thought towelheads are supposed to be the ones stoning the fags. Don't you worry, hillbillies will stay hillbillies.
On a different matter, yep, straight, white, male liberals are among the most sly, homophobic trashes I've come across.

You can add Stanford to this post. Nothing but entitled rich kids who think they're smart enough to the next Steve Jobs...but are more like Elizabeth Holmes.

They are the 1% or the 1% adjacent OP.
That's why.

R19, please add Tulane as Stanford's plus-one.
TIA!

There are no ‘elite’ universities in Europe (not counting the UK.) Anyone who has sufficient secondary education (the equivalent of seven to eight successfully completed AP courses) can enter any university they like. I think Ivy League universities are an outdated legacy of the British class system.

Harvard has avoided originality, but has instead traditionally maintained a remote position of self-entitled criticism of anyone and everything.
As my mother, who went to Radcliffe, used to say, “Harvard is the steward of its excellence.”

Ted Cruz went to Princeton for his undergrad degree.
Harvard undergrad alums will tell you it only matters where you got your undergrad degree. They would not count Cruz as a real Harvardian since he only went to the Law School.

Harvard Business School has a lot to answer for with regard to the destruction of the American middle class over the past forty years.

NYU is for people with money who couldn't get into Columbia. As far as racism and homophobia THAT is really hard for me to believe. Half the student body would define themselves as "queer", there are plenty of protests and activist events going on in washington square park all the time, and there is an anonymous "bias" hotline where you can report offensive behavior.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 6, 2020 7:07 PM |
Sheshpool.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 6, 2020 7:12 PM |
R35, because it has become fashionable again, but trust me, they have no idea what they are doing. It's all blah, blah, blah...and in a couple of years they'll move on to something else or they'll graduate, join the workforce and end up being as homophobic and racist as everyone else.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 6, 2020 7:26 PM |
R37 can you elaborate on why you think they have no idea what they're doing?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 6, 2020 7:30 PM |
Sheep mentality, they are just following the crowd, I doubt any of those white youngsters you see taking to the streets to support BLM, are really concerned about police brutality. It's just fashionable now, it wasn't when I went to university— I was unlucky. The noise will eventually die down and then it would be back to normal again.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 6, 2020 7:37 PM |
Some of the white kids truly are concerned but many are just doing what is popular right now. R39 is right.
And NYU the school is liberal, but many of its students are not. Again, it’s a school that attracts people (mostly white) from all over the world, and very few of its student body is actually from NYC. It’s mostly middle America from red states who grew up on smaller towns or suburbs.
They’re the ones who go on to get first dibs at the best jobs and live in almost all white Murray Hill or the Upper East Side, which is a white enclave and the part of NYC many Conservatives love to live. If not, they move away to another city they prefer or live on mostly white Long Island and travel to work once they’re married.
Those white bosses you hear about being discriminatory etc. usually are from elite schools.

R31 what about Wharton Business School?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 6, 2020 8:28 PM |
R27 would you explain that last paragraph?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 6, 2020 8:30 PM |
R41, Wharton is complicit in the hallowing out of the middle class as well.
