Their perfect tanned skin! Anybody stranded on an island would have sunburned, peeling skin, not to mention insect bites and various tropical funguses.This movie is pure fantasy. But I'm sure the teenage girls who saw it (I think that was the audience for this movie, and maybe women who had the mentality of a teenage girl) swooned over the beauty of Christopher Atkins and imagined themselves in the Brooke Shields role, that of a gorgeous girl with a gorgeous lover in a gorgeous tropical paradise.

Was the ending meant to be ambiguous? Because earlier in the film, the girl ate one of the berries and nothing happened to her. Perhaps they were only poisonous if you ate a bunch of them? Otherwise, perhaps they really were only asleep and not dead.

It truly was a terrible movie.

R64, the ending implied that Chris, Brooke, and blonde son were found alive, unconscious due to the berries, but alive nevertheless. So maybe the berries merely had a "knock-out" effect. The son had only eaten one or two berries, but his parents each ate a large handful of them. My question is why the hell were those berries even in that row boat???

Blue Lagoon 2 was ever worse than the original. That hardly seems possible.

They really should run this as a double feature with Paradise starring Phoebe Cates and Willie Aames.
