Beyoncé drops new surprise single “Black Parade” to support BLM & Black Owned Businesses during these times

I actually love it. She is seriously a force of nature. One of a kind.

The song is FANTASTIC.

The white racist assholes will be even more pressed by her now.

by Anonymousreply 1June 20, 2020 7:52 PM

I’m down.

Kind of sounded like warmed up Lemonade leftovers at first, but that chorus is great.

She seems to have given up on pop music and radio play, and it makes for more interesting music.

by Anonymousreply 2June 20, 2020 7:56 PM

R2 she made her many many millions. I don’t think she cares about public reception or charts anymore.

She now does what she wants artistically.

by Anonymousreply 3June 20, 2020 7:58 PM

?? She signed a big Disney contract and doesn't care about public reception? I don't think so.

by Anonymousreply 4June 20, 2020 8:06 PM

She's whiter than half the white girls I know. Again, society is becoming so skin deep. It's ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 5June 20, 2020 8:10 PM

What a hack she is.

by Anonymousreply 6June 20, 2020 8:13 PM

It's every bit the shapeless, directionless mess I thought it would be. It's also terribly unflattering to her supposedly powerful vocals.

by Anonymousreply 7June 20, 2020 8:18 PM

OMG, it’s the new National Anthem!!!

by Anonymousreply 8June 20, 2020 8:20 PM

"Black Charade".... aka Beyonce.

by Anonymousreply 9June 20, 2020 8:23 PM

I see the racists have arrived lmao

by Anonymousreply 10June 20, 2020 8:24 PM

R7 ummm no. This isn’t a song where she’s using “big vocals” so it’s doing no disservice. You don’t need to use big vocals on every track just because you can ala Christina.

by Anonymousreply 11June 20, 2020 8:26 PM

How much of that is she giving to help black people? I'm assuming all of it.

And there are NO DIACRITICAL marks in English.

by Anonymousreply 12June 20, 2020 8:34 PM
ala Christina

Oh dear.

by Anonymousreply 13June 20, 2020 8:44 PM

Sounds like Rihanna.

by Anonymousreply 14June 20, 2020 9:20 PM

Ha ha

by Anonymousreply 15June 20, 2020 9:26 PM

excuse my ignorance but why did Beyonce have to make Junteenth about her? why couldn't she drop it the day before or the day after?

by Anonymousreply 16June 20, 2020 9:27 PM

It will be an improvement if she sounds like Rihanna this time around.

by Anonymousreply 17June 20, 2020 9:28 PM

Sounds nothing like Rihanna, who has a very distinct voice and accent even in her singing

by Anonymousreply 18June 20, 2020 9:29 PM

R16, because nobody cares about her anumore if shes not exploiting black issues.

by Anonymousreply 19June 20, 2020 9:30 PM

It's always about her, r16.

by Anonymousreply 20June 20, 2020 9:32 PM

Beyonce drops new 💩.

by Anonymousreply 21June 20, 2020 9:35 PM

I've heard worse from her. But it really would help if you could understand the lyrics.

by Anonymousreply 22June 20, 2020 9:38 PM

How convenient. I'm surprised Jay Z isn't selling BLM t shirts like he did during Occupy Wall Street.

by Anonymousreply 23June 20, 2020 9:41 PM

I’ve heard it on repeat for the past 30 minutes. I actually love the chorus.

Buy it and show support to the Black community guys

by Anonymousreply 24June 20, 2020 9:50 PM

Buy it and show your support to Beyonce.

by Anonymousreply 25June 20, 2020 9:55 PM

I love this chica so much, Ever since self titled she said fuck pop singles, fuck the radio, I'm doing it my way. She is the best mainstream female singer ever.

by Anonymousreply 26June 20, 2020 9:59 PM

r2, And the thing is she can still tour and move album units. When other pop divas had flop singles their whole projects failed. Poor albums relative to the time period, low ticket sales. She has never had a flop era. Thats why I say she is like a rockstar in the form an r&b diva. Most of the rock titans never really needed pop radio to sustain careers, though like her they have a handful of signature songs.

by Anonymousreply 27June 20, 2020 10:01 PM

All the sales are going to black owned businesses.

by Anonymousreply 28June 20, 2020 10:02 PM

“Motherland drip on me. Drip on me.

I can’t forget my history”

She’s calling on the black ancestors to remind today’s black people of their History.

by Anonymousreply 29June 20, 2020 10:03 PM

R26, That's because "4" and its singles were such bombs on the pop chart.

by Anonymousreply 30June 20, 2020 10:03 PM

Just listen to the song, I loved it. It's a feel good song.

by Anonymousreply 31June 20, 2020 10:04 PM

R30 yet her tour still sold out.

by Anonymousreply 32June 20, 2020 10:05 PM

R27, Taylor Swift is a better example of that. She sells more than Beyonce and doesnt have the media promoring her so much. Lemonade was pushed on everyone by the media for months, Taylor didnt have that with Lover.

by Anonymousreply 33June 20, 2020 10:05 PM

R33 please tell me you’re lying 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Taylor is one of the most studio created products out there.

by Anonymousreply 34June 20, 2020 10:07 PM

R5 Beyonce is not the only light skinned black woman. Black people are a rainbow on to ourselves. We come in various hues of skin complexions. Very light very dark brown skinned etc.

No other ethnic group is as diverse as people of African descent in the black diaspora throughout the world.

Beyonce is a black woman and has always owned that fact.

by Anonymousreply 35June 20, 2020 10:08 PM

R34 , I am talking about sells and success in comparison to media hype. Most people didnt want anything to do with lemonade but we still heard about it because the media breathlessly covered "becky with the good hair' and Jay's cheating on beyonce.

I didnt even know Taylor had an album out until 3 months later and it still outsold Beyonce's garbage.

by Anonymousreply 36June 20, 2020 10:09 PM

R35 light skinned black people have a lot more European DNA then dark skinned ones.

by Anonymousreply 37June 20, 2020 10:12 PM

We've bee invaded by 🐝🐝🐝🐝.

by Anonymousreply 38June 20, 2020 10:15 PM

I can understand this genre is not for everyone, but this is a good song. And timely.

by Anonymousreply 39June 20, 2020 10:16 PM

Look, I’m no Bey fan, but it’s a good song 🤷🏽‍♂️

by Anonymousreply 40June 20, 2020 10:17 PM
Beyoncé drops new surprise single “Black Parade” to CASH IN on BLM & Black Owned Businesses during these times

by Anonymousreply 41June 20, 2020 10:17 PM

Jinx r40.

by Anonymousreply 42June 20, 2020 10:18 PM

PS: this song sucks, as with most of the drivel this overrated hack puts out.

by Anonymousreply 43June 20, 2020 10:19 PM

I wonder how many of her usual 750 "collaborators" worked on this shitty song.

You know something is bad when you need hundreds of people to write something and it still sounds terrible.

by Anonymousreply 44June 20, 2020 10:23 PM

R44 get a grip!!!

by Anonymousreply 45June 20, 2020 10:24 PM

Go suck this talentless hack's dick R45.

by Anonymousreply 46June 20, 2020 10:25 PM

Solange is the talented sister.

by Anonymousreply 47June 20, 2020 10:27 PM

You know your doing something right when the racists are always mad at you.

This thread and this site is a perfect example of that.

by Anonymousreply 48June 20, 2020 10:38 PM

R37 she's part creole on her mother's side. And all of the creole people I know heavily claim their blackness. Jada pinkett Smith is also creole because of her mother, and she rides hard for black causes.

And most black Americans have have European ancestry because of slavery. I have over 43.7 % European ancestry in my blood, but you would never know it. I'm brown skinned and do not locked mixed at all. But several blood tests have come to the same conclusions over and over again. But I guess that's the story for most African Americans.

It all goes back to slavery in America. Rape was a huge problem during slavery and I guess that explains all of the European blood running through my veins today.

by Anonymousreply 49June 20, 2020 10:46 PM

I see, hating on Beyoncé = racism. If you worked in the entertainment business you'd know exactly why this cunt is so vilified and hated. It ain't racism, even Ava Duvarney hates this woman, though she won't admit it. Publicists (Ava was one) and PR personnel despise this cunt, because she is an annoying diva who thinks herself better than everyone, specially other black people.

by Anonymousreply 50June 20, 2020 10:48 PM

R49 over 43% is a lot. Most black people don’t have that much. That means you had white ancestry recently.

by Anonymousreply 51June 20, 2020 10:49 PM

Reminds me a bit of "This is America" by Childish Gambino. The verses, not so much the chorus or the bridge. Something about the music and its arrangement.

by Anonymousreply 52June 20, 2020 10:59 PM

She's a complete bore.

by Anonymousreply 53June 20, 2020 11:00 PM

At this point, the cash in is not about money but fame and attention. They're already billionaires. All that is left is vanity.

by Anonymousreply 54June 20, 2020 11:03 PM
excuse my ignorance but why did Beyonce have to make Junteenth about her? why couldn't she drop it the day before or the day after?

Would you drop a Christmas song the day AFTER Christmas?

She waited until the end of the day.
She signed a big Disney contract and doesn't care about public reception? I don't think so.

She doesn't in terms of the music she releases. She's never been the type of person that would run around showing her whole entire asshole. That's not even the point.

She obviously doesn't care who likes her music and who doesn't. She stopped doing commercial sounding tracks years ago. She makes music for a specific group of people and she has stuck with it.

Even SNL noticed when her sound changed.

by Anonymousreply 55June 20, 2020 11:13 PM
excuse my ignorance but why did Beyonce have to make Junteenth about her?

She got poor feedback from the black community for her response to the George Floyd murder, I guess people thought she wasnt doing enough.

Also, Beyonce is a Texas native, born and raised. If she didnt do something to acknowledge Juneteenth she was about to get called out. I dont care for the song but I guess people are liking it.

by Anonymousreply 56June 21, 2020 12:23 AM

Beyonce is desperate. Remember when she jumped on That Ed Sheehan track for a hit? And the Savage remix?

by Anonymousreply 57June 21, 2020 12:34 AM

Ed invited her to do a remix r57

by Anonymousreply 58June 21, 2020 12:38 AM

r57 she basically makes music for sport now. She is at the top of the food chain when it comes to the music industry. I see her being like Sade very shortly and become a recluse to raise her kids out of the spotlight

by Anonymousreply 59June 21, 2020 12:42 AM

Like all of her stuff it's choppy, incoherent, all over the place, pretentious yet instantly forgettable.

Go back to Destiny's Child, B'day.

by Anonymousreply 60June 21, 2020 12:55 AM

The Destiny's Child reunion will make them another boatload of money whenever they decide to reactivate, they could tour indefinitely off the old hits. I guess they will put it off until their kids are older

by Anonymousreply 61June 21, 2020 1:01 AM

Beyoncé is worth tons of money. She does what she wants and I admire that.

by Anonymousreply 62June 21, 2020 1:04 AM

You can hate Beyawncee and not be racist OP fat bastard a.

by Anonymousreply 63June 21, 2020 1:05 AM
And there are NO DIACRITICAL marks in English.

R12 Her name is French-influenced, a language that does have accent marks.

by Anonymousreply 64June 21, 2020 1:18 AM

Beyonce and great artist Sade should not be in the same sentence.

by Anonymousreply 65June 21, 2020 1:20 AM

Beyoncé is one of the modern greats

by Anonymousreply 66June 21, 2020 1:44 AM

Screamer who can't find the note

by Anonymousreply 67June 21, 2020 2:08 AM

Black money matters.

by Anonymousreply 68June 21, 2020 2:21 AM

r55 I would have dropped it a while before Christmas, not on Christmas Day. Beyonce could have just given her own money which could have been far more than she'll get from this but had to make the day about her, no matter what time of the day she put it out.

by Anonymousreply 69June 21, 2020 2:34 AM

If a white artist did this r69 would not be crying

by Anonymousreply 70June 21, 2020 2:42 AM

God, that's just awful.

It's a [italic]TERRIBLE[/italic] song.

by Anonymousreply 71June 21, 2020 2:50 AM

I'm sure Beyonce and her husband are probably worth every bit of $2.2billion dollars plus.

They have a lot of investments.

by Anonymousreply 72June 21, 2020 2:58 AM

That's absurd, R72. Jay Z may be worth a billion dollars but Beyonce's worth only around 400 million .

by Anonymousreply 73June 21, 2020 3:04 AM

She dropped this song and then went to the Hamptons.

For real.

by Anonymousreply 74June 21, 2020 3:45 AM

Not a fan but of hers but I like this song.

by Anonymousreply 75June 21, 2020 3:48 AM

R74 Well, of course she did.

by Anonymousreply 76June 21, 2020 3:50 AM

Who cares?

by Anonymousreply 77June 21, 2020 3:50 AM

I want to hear more about Ava vs. Beyoncé.

That sounds dishy.

by Anonymousreply 78June 21, 2020 4:16 AM

R78 me too.

by Anonymousreply 79June 21, 2020 11:51 AM

Histrionic wignado.

(Can’t claim it, makes me laugh every time.)

by Anonymousreply 80June 21, 2020 1:09 PM

r70 I wouldn't care what the color of anyone's skin was if they tried to make an important holiday about them. My point wasn't about skin color but about those that seem to need undying attention that they would take it from anywhere where they had a large audience at the expense of taking the attention away of what the holiday is and what it means. I knew nothing about Junteenth and am just learning about it. I Don't want to spend my life associating it with Beyonce because it isn't and will never be about Beyonce or anyone else that feels the need to shine the spotlight on themselves.

I know being black isn't easy with all the prejudice that has been suffered since the beginning of time but I am getting tired of people always thinking that ALL white people would be okay with a situation if the person wasn't black but was white. If something isn't right I don't give a damn what color the persons skin is and there are others out there that believe this like me. You don't want all of black people painted with the same brush so don't paint all white people with the same brush.

by Anonymousreply 81June 21, 2020 1:46 PM

Love her

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 82June 22, 2020 4:47 AM

Her singing voice is hideous and sloppy like she never learned to read music and her speaking voice is cringeworthy. She's very beautiful though and has star quality. I like her fine I just can't stand that fugly ass pretentious husband Joe Camel.

by Anonymousreply 83June 22, 2020 4:59 AM

Her diction is the Lucy Mame lens of singing.

by Anonymousreply 84June 22, 2020 5:06 AM

The single is bombing like her Lion King album.

by Anonymousreply 85June 22, 2020 7:02 AM
The single is bombing like her Lion King album.

It's #1 on iTunes.

Even though she released it without promotion for a specific audience with all proceeds going to charity.

Anyone could look that up? What was the point of that?

by Anonymousreply 86June 22, 2020 7:58 AM

She'll only support Black owned businesses? Does this mean she'll stop wearing wigs and weaves made from the hair of Asian and Indian women?

by Anonymousreply 87June 22, 2020 8:41 AM

I actually really like the chorus. She always does better with more melodic fare IMO and she still has good harmonies, even with this largely being in a lower register.

The production sounds a bit derivative of Solange's recent work though (that droning pulsing bass), and I HATE that stale trap beat that runs throughout the song. Makes the song sound like it was made on Garageband. Cheap sounding.

Those who insist she doesn't care any more about charts and reception seem to have missed her and Jay Z's last album where they bragged about how great they are, how much money they have, and said such lines as 'Tell the Grammy's fuck that 0 for 8 shit.' I think it's pretty clear she still wants that industry recognition.

by Anonymousreply 88June 22, 2020 9:04 AM

R88 that sounds like she’s saying fuck you to the industry...

by Anonymousreply 89June 22, 2020 3:45 PM

The song has been #1 on iTunes since Friday and hasn’t moved from that spot. It’s not flopping.

R87 you must not see what’s happening in the world. Many are supporting black owned businesses right now. Millions.

by Anonymousreply 90June 22, 2020 3:46 PM

I like Beyonce, particularly her earlier songs, but I also think she is the most overrated person in music.

by Anonymousreply 91June 22, 2020 3:47 PM

The song would sound better with a loud male voice, instead of her nasal female whining.

by Anonymousreply 92June 22, 2020 3:47 PM

The song isn't "FANTASTIC."

But it's the second-best Beyonce song, next to "Single Ladies," IMO. And I only like 3 or 4 Beyonce songs, she's usually forgettable drivel or bland R & B.

I love the chill, African flavor and the message.

by Anonymousreply 93June 22, 2020 7:28 PM

She does sound like she's impersonating a robot, however. Rather effected vocals.

by Anonymousreply 94June 22, 2020 7:29 PM

She is robotic at best and can never shed remnants of the Texas Pageant style.

by Anonymousreply 95June 22, 2020 7:42 PM

I couldn’t understand the vocals. I like the music but I had to look up the lyrics online so I could understand what she’s singing about. The lyrics are terrific, really strong.

by Anonymousreply 96June 22, 2020 8:06 PM
I actually love it. She is seriously a force of nature.

You should credit some of her collaborators.

by Anonymousreply 97June 22, 2020 8:07 PM

The lyrics are beautiful and deep.

R93 this doesn’t use much of “African” beats.

by Anonymousreply 98June 22, 2020 8:22 PM

Wake me up when Beyonce drops dead.

by Anonymousreply 99June 22, 2020 8:49 PM

Wake me up when you sing a note, LaTavia.

by Anonymousreply 100June 22, 2020 8:51 PM

Beyoncé’s facial expressions were amazing when LaTavia would speak.

by Anonymousreply 101June 22, 2020 8:55 PM

"Don't say their names."

by Anonymousreply 102June 22, 2020 8:56 PM

"Yeah. You're right. My bad."

by Anonymousreply 103June 22, 2020 8:56 PM

It would be cute if all the original members were included in the reunion tours, but you know Beyonce aint having it.

by Anonymousreply 104June 22, 2020 8:59 PM

What reunion tours? They've only done one-off performances.

by Anonymousreply 105June 22, 2020 9:01 PM

r105, future reunion tours

by Anonymousreply 106June 22, 2020 9:05 PM

The reason Beyoncé fired the original members minus Kelly was because they couldn’t carry a tune nor harmonize.

A few years ago someone broke down all the harmonies in Destiny’s Child songs and Bey even had to record many of the harmonies to harmonize with her own melodies. The other girls were sort of just there minus Kelly, and then eventually Michelle.

by Anonymousreply 107June 22, 2020 9:08 PM

Yeah Beyonce's strong point is harmony, especially in her earlier days. Kelly really complimented Beyonce's voice and they harmonized perfectly because they'd been singing together forever.

by Anonymousreply 108June 22, 2020 9:12 PM

LeToya can sing. Her voice isn't strong but neither was Cindy Birdsong's. The ability to harmonize can supercede a strong voice.

by Anonymousreply 109June 22, 2020 9:22 PM
Bey even had to record many of the harmonies to harmonize with her own melodies.

That's some bullshit. Recording her own harmonies meant that it was always a Beyonce show, from lead to harmonies.

by Anonymousreply 110June 22, 2020 9:23 PM

Beyoncé can be shady and I LOVE IT. I laughed so hard at her facial expression when Farrah (who came at the same time as Michelle before being dropped) said her and Beyoncé are friends and mentioned singing and dancing lmaooo

Or when Kelly brings up LaTavia and Beyoncé puts a stop to it FAST

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 111June 22, 2020 9:24 PM

The clip where Kelly describes herself as second lead vocalist is hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 112June 22, 2020 9:25 PM

R110 if the other girls harmonies aren’t sounding good are they supposed to just stick with that? No. Bey has to fix their errors and then fire them.

by Anonymousreply 113June 22, 2020 9:25 PM

She’s so fucking tedious and irritating. She makes it a point to say that her songs aren’t for white people, which is great because I’d like her to be permanently erased from my consciousness.

by Anonymousreply 114June 22, 2020 9:26 PM

Zzzzz

by Anonymousreply 115June 22, 2020 9:27 PM

Plenty of vocal groups have session singers on their records. Beyonce/the producer could have got sessions singers in but they didn't because they wanted to feature Beyonce entirely. There was no "had to" in the situation.

by Anonymousreply 116June 22, 2020 9:27 PM

R114 her first few albums were for white people. That’s why white people loved her. It was with her Beyoncé album she changed her sound and said fuck it all and white people noticed.

Then with Lemonade she had Formation and that was when white people felt she turned on them or something. It’s strange how that song really got many white people upset, meanwhile all she does is acknowledge her black roots.

by Anonymousreply 117June 22, 2020 9:33 PM

Not upset from any particular song, more from the godawful screeching and inability to hit the note.

by Anonymousreply 118June 22, 2020 9:36 PM

No. Formation had many white Americans angry. I remember when it came out and the song/video were controversial and Seen as Pro-Black and Anti Police propaganda

by Anonymousreply 119June 22, 2020 9:40 PM

No. It's always been the screeching for me.

by Anonymousreply 120June 22, 2020 9:47 PM

Omg skip to 2:38 and watch on. When Michelle sings flat, Bey looks SO ANGRY 😂😂😂 shes then super petty afterwards. I love this bitch!

by Anonymousreply 123June 22, 2020 9:59 PM

So what happened to the Ivy Park clothing line that she was sending out to celebrities like Reese Witherspoon in those big orange containers a few months ago?

Did she end up recouping the cost by selling all that stuff to Popeyes for their employee uniforms? Chile mess.
When Michelle sings flat, Bey looks SO ANGRY 😂😂😂 shes then super petty afterwards. I love this bitch!

To be fair all of this was about 20 years ago. She has grown up a lot since then. She's also still friends with former member LeToya Luckett (who Kelly also mentioned she still sees) and finally had a mini reunion LaTavia Roberson -- although LaTavia said she and Beyonce hadn't seen each other in 18 years at the time.

Sorry, Farrah!
People here love to attack Bey but she worked VERY HARD to get to where she is. I respect that.

I remember reading the stories about Matthew making Beyonce and the other girls run around a track WHILE singing at the same time. He made them WORK and he was quite successful at turning the group into stars but he should have known not to cross Tina.

I adore her. There's no one more important in music or relevant to our culture. Gaga who? Beyonce is above it all - but she cares and has things to say. That song is her best in 5 years. Go on Queen. She just happens to be the best live performer in the world, too. Check.

Those old videos of bitchy young Beyonce are entertaining as hell. I like that side of her.

by Anonymousreply 131June 22, 2020 10:40 PM

The woman pictured had a child by Matthew. I think the child may have been what caused the divorce from Tina Knowles.

by Anonymousreply 132June 22, 2020 10:44 PM

Yes, Matthew was having an affair and got her pregnant.
She just happens to be the best live performer in the world, too. Check.

I checked and...no.

by Anonymousreply 134June 22, 2020 10:47 PM

I talk shit about Beyonce here sometimes, but I cant think of anyone in the past 20 years who has dominated the scene like she did when she dropped the first album.

IMO only Madonna, Whitney, Janet and Michael had a similar impact. Beyonce was mesmerizing hunny, EVERYBODY wanted a piece. People need to stop lying like they weren't shaking their ass to her hits. I still crank this all the time

R135 Britney Spears. She literally changed the sound of radio stations and every record label searched for their version of her.

by Anonymousreply 136June 22, 2020 11:01 PM

I don't even know what song that is at r135. I checked out after "Crazy In Love." I'd already checkout of Destiny's Child when they became gimmicky Pick Me's (e.g. Nasty Girl, Cater 2 u).

by Anonymousreply 137June 22, 2020 11:01 PM
Britney Spears. She literally changed the sound of radio stations and every record label searched for their version of her.

Did she now? Max Martin already did the "Britney" sound with Robyn.

by Anonymousreply 138June 22, 2020 11:02 PM

Britney was cancelled at radio by the time of her second album. I think it was Clear Channel that considered her persona non grata.

by Anonymousreply 139June 22, 2020 11:02 PM

Robyn was not a huge star in the states yet alone world.

Robyns debut album didn’t sell 25 million copies.

Yes, because radio stations didn’t play Oops I Did It Again (lmao). Some of you make so much shit up.

She was also the first female artist to sell 1 million copies in 1 week (Oops)

by Anonymousreply 142June 22, 2020 11:04 PM
Robyn was not a huge star in the states yet alone world.
Robyns debut album didn’t sell 25 million copies.

That doesn't change the fact that Britney's sound was not new.

by Anonymousreply 143June 22, 2020 11:04 PM

Britney’s sound was new to almost all of the American public. Yes.

The only people who know Robyn are gays.

by Anonymousreply 144June 22, 2020 11:05 PM

OP = Weaveoncé

by Anonymousreply 145June 22, 2020 11:06 PM

The same American public who put two Robyn singles in the Pop Top 10 two years before "Baby One More Time."

by Anonymousreply 146June 22, 2020 11:10 PM

And yet almost no one knows who she is.

by Anonymousreply 147June 22, 2020 11:12 PM

Ugh. People on DL love to say Robyn and Britney had the same sound because Max Martin produced them yet neither of their songs/albums sound ANYTHING alike. It makes no sense.

by Anonymousreply 148June 22, 2020 11:13 PM
And yet almost no one knows who she is.

And almost everyone knows too much about Britney...

by Anonymousreply 149June 22, 2020 11:13 PM

Both Robyn and Britney came in a post TLC wave. Britney's debut single was even a TLC reject.

by Anonymousreply 150June 22, 2020 11:16 PM

Robyn had 2 singles peak at #7.

“Do You Know (What It Takes)” in 1996 and then “Show Me Love” in 1997.

Not one other song of hers has ever charted in the states. Not one.

Her debut album is her best selling album in the states, and peaked at ... 57!!!

Don’t try to downplay Britney for Robyn.

by Anonymousreply 151June 22, 2020 11:25 PM

No one needs to downplay Britney. But she did not have a unique sound.

by Anonymousreply 152June 22, 2020 11:26 PM

Her sound was new to the mainstream American public.

by Anonymousreply 153June 22, 2020 11:28 PM

Good song. Comments under the song in YouTube are hilarious.

The song makes lots of references to Africa. Everyone’s going into all the themes and symbols and what she’s trying to say.

Someone wrote: She just googled African history, dropped them into a song, and is making money off of George Floyd’s death

by Anonymousreply 156June 23, 2020 12:59 AM

Barfers for this materialistic tool. She is all about herself. Completely.

by Anonymousreply 157June 23, 2020 1:02 AM

The chorus is phenomenal. Infectious, if you will.

by Anonymousreply 158June 23, 2020 1:06 AM

Is it true that she's illiterate?

by Anonymousreply 159June 23, 2020 1:09 AM

No. She worked her ass off to get where she is. I doubt someone who is “illiterate” can accomplish all this.

by Anonymousreply 160June 23, 2020 1:10 AM

She's the queen. Of everything. WE love her. Her names is down with MJ, Prince, Tina Turner and Jagger as the greatest live performer of all time.

by Anonymousreply 161June 23, 2020 1:14 AM

Will Beyonce's European ancestors drip on her? "Beyoncé’s maternal grandparents were French-speaking Louisiana Creoles, with roots in New Iberia; their ancestry included African and French (including French ancestors who lived in Canada). Through her mother’s line, Beyoncé is a great-great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Acadian leader Joseph Broussard. Beyoncé is also of approximately 1/32 Irish ancestry, and has distant Spanish and Breton roots on her mother’s side, as well (at least one of her great-great-great-great-great-grandfathers, Juan Tomas Francisco Garrido, was Spanish)."

BeYawnce - a real black woman from the top of her Asian-hair wig, down her chiseled down nose, kissing off her filler- injected lips, past her lightened skin and jumping off her ass implants - she's the real deal. Wow, what a fake woman. Lol.

R161 Okay Tina.

What ass implants? Her ass isn’t even that big!!! And lightened skin? Lmaoooooooo

Here’s a photo of her in High School at her Senior Prom. She’s naturally light skinned. Light skin black people... TAN. You know? They can get DARKER???? And her nose looks the same...

by Anonymousreply 171June 23, 2020 1:49 AM

Notice how quickly "racist" is thrown out the second a black celebrity is criticized. The perpetually offended are always going to be perpetually offended. No helping them.

by Anonymousreply 184June 23, 2020 2:35 AM

Seems there's a segment of the blm population (the ones who hate whites) that loves to point out how something or someone is French, as if French isn't European or white.

by Anonymousreply 187June 23, 2020 3:17 AM
Notice how quickly "racist" is thrown out the second a black celebrity is criticized.

No one is going to call you racist if you say things that actually make sense.

When someone says her track is bombing when it's #1 on iTunes or she is profiting off of George Floyd's death when all the sales from the track are going to charity ... that's when someone is going to call you racist. Those things aren't factual at all.

If you say she wasn't good in Austin Powers or she was terrible at doing interviews then no one will go in on you. People know that.
And you're clearly blind.

I'm not that poster but it's contouring. As a matter of fact that second picture is from 2013. This one is more recent and she's not wearing makeup.

Each of Beyonce's SIX solo albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts. She is the only artist in history to achieve this. She is the most nominated woman in Grammy history and the second highest female winner with 24 Grammys. All 13 songs from Lemonade charted at once. She was named Billboard's artist of the decade for TWO fucking decades. From 2000 to 2019. Her music is evolutionary in scope, style and production. There is no style of music she can't sing, she can't be categorized. Her tour records are seismic and surpass anything that Madonna, Adele or Swift have achieved. No one really knows who she is, but she is always gracious. And sometimes FIERCE. Beyonce is far from dumb - she absolutely invented WOKE. For good reason and causes that hurt her and Obama, but one that revolutionizes the world this very day. STOP KILLING US.

But then comes her music, the beats, the rituals of new worlds. Messages of hope and uprising. History meets the future. Such dignity and beauty she brings to us. She illuminates our suffering but never lacks courage and hope. Her visuals stun, her words teach and lead us. Such beauty. She is the most powerful musical figure in the world. We love her. We respect her influence. We await what comes next.
