How would I feel? I would feel pissed off, obviously.

I would also feel intimidated and vulnerable. The act of burning a cross in someone's yard is designed specifically to intimidate and make a person scared. My response to that might be anger and defiance. Or it might be one of resignation and self-protection. My response would probably be heavily influenced by the particulars of the incident.

This is the sort of response one can expect when publicly fighting for change. The risk is real. So take a moment to do some soul-searching before you grab your picket sign. The risk may, or may not, be for you.
