Wife of Kentucky Republican congressman Andy Barr dies suddenly at 39

OD? Suicide?

[quote]Eleanor Carol Leavell Barr, the wife of U.S. Rep. Andy Barr, died unexpectedly in the family’s home Tuesday, according to Barr’s office. She was 39.

[quote]“During this tragic time, we respectfully ask for privacy for Congressman Barr and his family to grieve Mrs. Barr being called home to heaven,” Barr’s Chief of Staff Mary Rosado said. “Congressman Barr may release a more detailed statement at a later date, but right now is solely focused on being a father to his two beautiful daughters.”

by Anonymousreply 126June 24, 2020 2:42 AM

DL seems not to be accepting links from kentucky.com, so here is another story about it:

Covid??

by Anonymousreply 2June 17, 2020 3:35 AM

She killed herself when she realized who her husband is

by Anonymousreply 3June 17, 2020 3:37 AM

She was definitely out of his league.

The plot thickens.

From the local Fox affiliate:

[quote]Our newsroom made an observation tonight, an HOUR before the Carol Barr news was reported anywhere, Congressman Barr’s wiki page had been updated with a line about her death.

Did he murder her? Because any other husband would be looked at. That or fentynal are my guesses.

by Anonymousreply 6June 17, 2020 3:42 AM

[quote] That or fentynal are my guesses.

Hydroxychloroquine!

by Anonymousreply 7June 17, 2020 3:46 AM

She died from terminal Republicanism.

by Anonymousreply 8June 17, 2020 3:48 AM

The wedding registry because, why not?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 9June 17, 2020 3:54 AM

This guy is a deplorable republican. Wife probably off’ed herself from years of self loathing for being married to a guy who spends his days at work figuring out how to control women and kill poor people.

by Anonymousreply 10June 17, 2020 3:54 AM

This was discussed in a separate thread. She didn’t commit suicide. She was successful in life and in death.

by Anonymousreply 11June 17, 2020 3:56 AM

Well, yes, it's hard to argue she wasn't successful in death, R11.

by Anonymousreply 12June 17, 2020 3:58 AM

A local news station gets a bit shady with the quotation marks:

[quote]LEXINGTON, Ky. (WAVE) -- Congressman Andy Barr’s wife, Carol, died “suddenly” on Tuesday, per Barr’s Chief of Staff Mary Rosado.

by Anonymousreply 14June 17, 2020 4:01 AM

R9, that bloodstained china is cry for help. They didn't get much on their registry. People knew.

by Anonymousreply 15June 17, 2020 4:02 AM

Wow, R15, you're right — that is one largely ignored registry.

by Anonymousreply 16June 17, 2020 4:04 AM

I apologize R14 for my confusing comment. I was referring to a thread about not using the term “committed suicide” anymore.

by Anonymousreply 17June 17, 2020 4:07 AM

“Two beautiful daughters”? Sounds like he’s taking parenting lessons from Trump.

Lock your doors tonight, girls.

by Anonymousreply 18June 17, 2020 4:10 AM

Why would anyone on the inside rush to update a wiki page before the ME barely has your body in the ambulance?

That is strange and creepy!

by Anonymousreply 19June 17, 2020 4:11 AM

One less Republican is a good thing. Let there be more.

by Anonymousreply 20June 17, 2020 4:12 AM

I thought he may have killed her by hitting her over the head with the theresienthal clear memphis candlestick, but no one purchased it for them.

by Anonymousreply 21June 17, 2020 4:12 AM

I highly recommend short grieving periods and getting on with one’s life R19.

by Anonymousreply 22June 17, 2020 4:14 AM

If she died of Covid, would he be afraid to admit it because that’s not supportive enough of Trump?

Two congressmen’s wives died this week. Cheryl Sensenbrenner, wife of Jim Sensenbrenner, is the other one. Both GOP. Did the husbands carry Covid home from all those mask-free meetings with Trump and Pence?

It seems weird that two died in one week, but it’s “natural causes”? Or is it drug use?

by Anonymousreply 24June 17, 2020 4:17 AM

That is sketchy about his wiki being updated an hour before her death was made public. So he’s definitely a narcissist and also possibly a murderer I think?

by Anonymousreply 25June 17, 2020 4:21 AM

Tonight on "Dateline"...

by Anonymousreply 26June 17, 2020 4:21 AM

Fun fact, Andy Barr beat Amy McGrath in 2018 in Lexington, the most Democratic part of the state. How in the hell is she supposed to beat McConnell for Senate?

by Anonymousreply 27June 17, 2020 4:23 AM

Attorneys' phones are ringing off the hook tonight — single and divorced Kentucky Republican socialites are already angling to be the second Mrs. Barr.

by Anonymousreply 33June 17, 2020 4:38 AM

If it were truly an out-of-the-blue medical incident, they would have at least hinted at it.

Instead, it seems like it's something that needs to be spun.

"Suddenly" or "unexpectedly" is commonly used code for suicide or an overdose.

by Anonymousreply 34June 17, 2020 4:43 AM

[quote] Instead, it seems like it's something that needs to be spun.

This being a Kentucky Republican, it would be home spun.

R4, I think you meant he was out of her league. He's ugly.

by Anonymousreply 40June 17, 2020 5:37 AM

by Anonymousreply 41June 17, 2020 5:41 AM

by Anonymousreply 42June 17, 2020 5:41 AM

No, R40, when something is out of a person's league, it's too good for them.

He was beneath her.

by Anonymousreply 43June 17, 2020 5:45 AM

Agree, R43.

'Tis why he pushed her down the stairs when she announced she was leaving him. Straight, fug white dudes love doing shit like that; controlling 'their' women into death. If he'd had a less 'lofty' career, he'd have shot her, the kids, then himself.

He even controlled her death announcement on his wiki page -- must have given his little pecker such a jolt!

by Anonymousreply 44June 17, 2020 6:03 AM

Murderous Dwarf on the Lam, R31 ?

by Anonymousreply 45June 17, 2020 6:34 AM

McConnell is killing them young. Or maybe it was that cunt to whom McConnell is married who killed her.

by Anonymousreply 46June 17, 2020 6:39 AM

No one bought her even one piece of her silver pattern for her wedding??

In the South???

Something was most definitely fishy!

by Anonymousreply 47June 17, 2020 8:48 AM

And who asks for pewter julep cups?

Tacky.

by Anonymousreply 48June 17, 2020 8:48 AM

Cheryl Sensenbrenner may have actually died from Covid. She was in a nursing home at the time (she had a debilitating stroke six years ago, and was already disabled from a car accident when she was young).

by Anonymousreply 56June 17, 2020 6:30 PM

I find many of the above comments repulsive. We do not know the circumstances and right now, the children of this family have lost their mother.

I may have overwhelming objections to this Congressman's political point of view, but he has lost his wife! I criticize the right all the time for their insensitive comments and lack of decency. For those above with the distasteful comments, you are no better than the person in the White House. Do we have not some level of moral decency left in this country?

Until we know what actually happened, let's think about the family as if they were your own. Give them some time to mourn. In the future, we will have plenty of time, if necessary, to make comments.

by Anonymousreply 57June 17, 2020 6:44 PM

MARY!

by Anonymousreply 58June 17, 2020 6:49 PM

by Anonymousreply 71June 17, 2020 8:14 PM

by Anonymousreply 76June 17, 2020 8:49 PM

Exactly.
