He has a great body, he's a terrific actor, and he's possible the best looking man in England.
Not really.

Possibly, Not possible.
Why did spell check get that one wrong?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 13, 2020 3:44 PM |
Beady eyes. Hard pass.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 13, 2020 3:50 PM |
Never heard of him - not that that matters. Has a pierced ear - hot a good look for Bond. I want an Asian trans woman thanks.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 13, 2020 3:51 PM |
This is DL, R3
OP is a DL cliché.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 13, 2020 3:52 PM |
I like Edward Holcroft a lot be he has a distractingly asymmetrical face which will probably prevent him from getting big roles like Bond.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 13, 2020 3:53 PM |
Looks too young.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 13, 2020 3:54 PM |
“Hell to the NO!”
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 13, 2020 3:54 PM |
You don't find him just a bit too Steve Coogan-ish, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 13, 2020 3:54 PM |
[quote] Beady eyes.
This.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 13, 2020 3:54 PM |
The "eyes" have it. Canceled as Bond. Next...
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 13, 2020 3:56 PM |
Great name though. Like it.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 13, 2020 4:00 PM |
Not attractive. Rufus Sewell should be the next James Bond.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 13, 2020 4:03 PM |
I don't think so.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 13, 2020 4:05 PM |
He looks like a Mr Potato Head with a developmental disorder.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 13, 2020 4:06 PM |
“the best looking man in England” ... a low bar
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 13, 2020 4:07 PM |
Jolie laide trying to pass as classically handsome. Just no.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 13, 2020 4:08 PM |
Does he work second-rate gypsy carnivals as Chris Evans? He looks like it.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 13, 2020 4:09 PM |
I think he's pretty. But is there actually going to be a "next Bond" anytime soon? Daniel Craig doesn't seem to want to let go just yet.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 13, 2020 4:10 PM |
HOW VERY DARE YOU OP!
The next bond is Romesh Ranganathan!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 13, 2020 4:12 PM |
R19 = idiot
The next Bond is his last Bond, it was publicized everywhere before they bumped the film to fall because of the plague.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 13, 2020 4:14 PM |
Anyone who thinks the next Bond won't be a person of color is ... not paying attention.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 13, 2020 4:26 PM |
Some how he managed to be rather attractive despite his facial proportion being off kilter. His eyes are too close together for one.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 13, 2020 4:31 PM |
Bland. James Bland.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 13, 2020 4:31 PM |
His eyes are too close together. He should get that corrected.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 13, 2020 4:41 PM |
^^ Yeah, with an axe!
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 13, 2020 5:04 PM |
Pay attention! From the mouths of Broccolis...
[quote]“For better or worse, we are the custodians of this character. We take that responsibility seriously.” Barbara Broccoli
[quote]“You think of him as being from Britain or the Commonwealth, but Britain is a very diverse place,” Wilson says.
[quote]There are certain things the duo appears open to considering, and other conversations that are nonstarters, when it comes to selecting the next Bond. “He can be of any color, but he is male,” says Broccoli. “I believe we should be creating new characters for women — strong female characters. I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that.”
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 13, 2020 5:06 PM |
fans wont accept a 'diverse' Bond....
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 13, 2020 5:11 PM |
If Holcroft’s eyes were any closer together he would be a cyclops.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 13, 2020 5:18 PM |
They’re practically conjoined.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 13, 2020 5:28 PM |
He does look like he has a stick up his butt and, suitably serious because of it. So, maybe.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 13, 2020 7:38 PM |
His sex scene with Ben Whishaw in London Spy was crazy hot
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 13, 2020 7:48 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 13, 2020 8:04 PM |
I'm with you, OP. I mentioned him in the "Who should play James Bond?" thread. I think he's a better choice than most of the guys who have been named like James Norton, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Richard Madden.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 13, 2020 9:23 PM |
R35 that’s Ryan Kwanten from True Blood, you blind bat
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 14, 2020 12:34 AM |
Edward Patrick Holcroft (born 23 June 1987) is an English film, television and stage actor. He is best known for his roles in the Kingsman film franchise and in the television series Wolf Hall (2015), London Spy (2015), and Alias Grace (2017).

What about Oliver Jackson Cohen?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 14, 2020 3:38 AM |
Jackson Cohen would be good, too
by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 14, 2020 5:07 AM |
Holcroft's got beady eyes that are too close together.
Jackson Cohen is creepy looking.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | June 14, 2020 5:09 AM |
Sorry, his smile weirds me out. Especially after The Invisible Man.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | June 14, 2020 5:15 AM |
He's 32 and he's already graying. No thank you. I much prefer Oliver Jackson Cohen or James Norton to be the next Bond.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | June 14, 2020 5:16 AM |
James Norton doesn't do it for me
by Anonymous | reply 46 | June 14, 2020 5:19 AM |
Jackson Cohen played a convincing junkie in Hill House. I can't see him playing Bond, unless Bond was falling apart.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | June 14, 2020 5:27 AM |
Nick Hoult for Bond!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | June 14, 2020 5:30 AM |
I thought Edward Holcroft was a trader from Bristol whose statue was disrespectfully brown into the sewer.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | June 14, 2020 5:32 AM |
This beady eyed twink looks like a minor Bond henchman that would get killed half way through the movie.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | June 14, 2020 5:34 AM |
[Quote] Jackson Cohen played a convincing junkie in Hill House. I can't see him playing Bond, unless Bond was falling apart.
What odd logic you employ.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | June 14, 2020 5:42 AM |
There’s not going to be another Bond for a LONG time, and when there is, it’s not going to be a white guy.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | June 14, 2020 6:06 AM |
Dr. Who, maybe. But Bond? No.
And that earring just ruins whatever potential he had.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | June 14, 2020 6:10 AM |
He has such interesting, tiny eyes.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | June 14, 2020 7:41 AM |
I remember his character having to take a bath because of a dirty ass when Ben Whishaw first tried topping him in “London Spy.”
It was supposed to be the character’s first time bottoming, but it’s the only thing I can think about now when I see this actor.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | June 14, 2020 7:42 AM |
No one under 80 cares about James Bond. lol
by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 14, 2020 7:47 AM |
His face is too difficult to photograph. His nose is as long as Ernest Thesiger's.
The Bond role belongs to Cavill, Henry Cavill.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 14, 2020 9:26 AM |
Nose, too long.
Bond belongs to Cavill, Henry Cavill.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | June 14, 2020 9:28 AM |
But Cavill can't covincingly play straight and also has too many rumors to be taken seriously.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | June 14, 2020 9:52 AM |
*convincingly, sorry
by Anonymous | reply 60 | June 14, 2020 9:53 AM |
He needs a long nose to keep the eyes to crashing in the middle
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 14, 2020 10:08 AM |
Cavill is a terrible actor. And he got so big that he always look like he is exploding out of his suits, not a good look for Bond.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | June 14, 2020 10:09 AM |
Now that bond has a daughter, what happens if they cast a black Bond? Will they have to recast the daughter too for subsequent movies ?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | June 14, 2020 10:27 AM |
Quit your trolling.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | June 14, 2020 10:36 AM |
Holcroft photographed very well in "London Spy."
by Anonymous | reply 65 | June 14, 2020 10:37 AM |
The next bond must be a transwoman of color. Also, we don't care if no one will go to see the movie.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | June 14, 2020 10:44 AM |
He’s got a compelling look, and maybe he’s more appealing in action (as opposed to the still photos here).
He’s not Bond material, but he’s not hideous.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | June 14, 2020 3:03 PM |
Bond has to be a guy you can imagine pressing you up against a wall, slipping his hand under your skirt and inserting two fingers inside you.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | June 14, 2020 3:28 PM |
I like that Babs B. took what was considered 'a big risk' with Daniel Craig and it paid off. Here's the latest news...

There you go. Jackson-Cohen is an Arabic Jew but white-adjacent enough to not cause the racist Boomer fanboys to have a collective meltdown over his casting.
And his rumored ex Jack Bannon would make a great Q.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | June 14, 2020 10:24 PM |
^ what's this about Jack Bannon and Jackson-Cohen?!
by Anonymous | reply 77 | June 14, 2020 10:58 PM |
It's just an Internet rumor, based on them posting IG stories of hanging out/hanging all over each other last summer and following each other when they met at some fashion show - I believe OJC pinned one of the stories of them drunkenly sharing a carousel horse to his IG profile - and Jack is rumored to be gay and still was leaving OJC "you're so hot" kinds of comments as of March 2019. OJC has been publicly single for over a year and a half now, Jack supposedly had a boyfriend that he posted about on social media but he deleted a few things when they broke up.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | June 14, 2020 11:04 PM |
As of March 2020 I meant.

As I watched the Netflix series THE ENGLISH GAME I thought he would be interesting as Bond, but he's a mumbler.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | June 15, 2020 2:12 AM |
Yes I remembered his mumbling from London Spy, but I’d thought that was just the character.
I will just add that I would be shocked if anyone other than Oliver Jackson-Cohen is chosen. He has the right career trajectory, he’s handsome but in that rugged type way that straight men are comfortable with, and it seems like he’s be amenable with the requisite amount of whoring needed to carry a major franchise these days. Holfcroft on the other hand is extremely private and doesn’t have a public social media account.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | June 15, 2020 2:47 AM |
Tom Bateman would be a good choice

He's ugly. his eyes are too close together!
by Anonymous | reply 91 | June 22, 2020 7:59 PM |
He's extremely handsome, the eyes are not that close together, and if you look at his work in The English Game, Kingsman, and London Spy, it's clear he acts well in very different roles.
I would prefer a female Bond though. That would really rock the Trumpers.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | June 22, 2020 8:14 PM |
I honestly flinched at the photo at r57. WOW that is a weird face. There's no way in hell he could be Bond.

r55 oh that's what the bath was about. I was sort of confused about why he would take a bath in someone else's house. For cleaning out I'd assume that a shower would be prefered. Learn something new every day.
I feel in lust with Edward in Kingsman but fell in love with him and his sexy body in London Spy (I hate that title).

To drive home the fact that Alex (Holcroft) didn't know how to wash his ass there's the scene where Whishaw's Danny meets Alex's mother he tells her he knew her son was inexperience in part because "things were dirty when it should be clean."

Here are some of Esquires guesses with my thoughts:
Robert Pattinson - hell to the no
Paul Mescal - too ugly
Harry Styles - hell to the no
Tom Hardy - too well-known, too old
Idris Elba - see Tom Hardy
James Norton - not a bad choice but there's something slightly "off" to me
Sam Heughan - no.
Jack Lowden - me likey
Michael B Jordan - too American
Richard Madden - okay
Riz Ahmed - not butch enough
Tom Hiddleston - Just no
Daniel Kaluuya - too ugly
Henry Cavill - God no
Aidan Turner - not bad
Damien Lewis - too old
John Boyega - no
Henry Golding - me likey
by Anonymous | reply 129 | September 2, 2020 5:07 AM |
WOW R129 I think this is the first time I've 100% agreed with anyone's Bond candidates list assessment, it's a Christmas Miracle in September. Jack Lowden and Henry Golding both really do check all the boxes perfectly - right age range, right fame level, tall and handsome but believable as spies who can blend in, both likable and with broad appeal, both with some action movie and romcom experience. I have a slight preference for Henry as I think he's really charismatic, but if the Broccolis simply cannot abide a nonwhite Bond, I wouldn't be mad if they went with Jack.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | September 2, 2020 5:49 AM |
I like the Henry Golding option, however, being that for the next 20 years every single movie villain will either be Russian or Chinese, he won’t work, especially as someone who works for her majesty’s secret servicr.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | September 2, 2020 6:03 AM |
I feel like having the villain and the protagonist be played by actors from similar ethnic backgrounds is generally not an action film franchise dealbreaker.
