R7 Yes. Lee was told that the daughter of a famous singer needed a hit song so he went to their place and the rest is history. Lee and Nancy made some good duets together.

I didn't know that Nancy posed for Playboy until someone pointed it out on this thread.

Was it Nancy or Tina who didn't see her father on the night he died because she wanted to see the final episode of Seinfeld?

This photo is bizarre but hey, it was the late 1960's!

The first album I bought was Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood. I thought Nancy was hot, I was 10.

R22 Barbara Sinatra, Frank's last wife, didn't tell Nancy and Tina that their father had died until hours later and they furious with her. Lots of bad blood between them and it continued on until the day Barbara died. Tina told all about it in her memoir and Barbara was NOT pleased. So she wrote her own memoir and didn't mention the girls at all.

Barbara scares me more than Sam Giancana,

One of Nancy's best friends is actor, singer James Darren, who is also Nancy's daughter AJ's godfather. Nancy Sinatra and James Darren celebrate the same birth date: June 8 with James being four years older than Nancy.
James Darren is also the father of TV entertainment journalist (CNN, Inside Edition) and attorney, Jim Moret.

My hand to god, I was listening to “You Only Live Twice” on my Spotify yesterday! What an ear worm.
I didn’t think her voice was that great, but I still enjoy it, if that makes sense.
Happy Birthday, Nancy.

Did Frank like Lee Hazlewood? I always imagine Frank getting angry about the cocaine joke in this song. Happy Birthday, Nancy!

Major, major Trump-hater, so she's certainly jake with me. Happy Birthday to, as Dad might say, one great broad.

Yes, Nancy is a tried and true Democrat. She can't stand Trump. I follow her on Twitter.

You have to admit, even with all the turmoil in daddy's life, his kids turned out okay.

Nancy's follow-up hit to "Boots" was "How Does That Grab You, Darlin'?" which was simply a recycled version of her first hit "Boots" which was common back in the 60's. It had great bass and the instruments in the background were fantastic. Catchy tune and it landed in the Top 10. Cute song, really.

I always loved Lady Bird. I find myself humming it from time to time.
Some Velvet Morning is a great and strange song too, very trippy - Lee Hazlewood was a great songwriter and producer.

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet. Always liked this version better than the Sonny & Cher original.

R42. Thanks for posting! I agree, Nancy's version is best.

When Nancy told her dad she was posing for playboy he asked her how much were they paying her, she told him and he told her to double it she did and playboy did as well.
Nancy is great on twitter and answers fan questions pretty regularly. As mentioned above Barbara Sinatra’s book said nothing about Nancy or Tina, but they hated her and Barbara tried to get frank to adopt her adult son Bobby Marx who took the last name of Barbara’s second husband Zeppo Marx despite not being adopted by him.

Nancy was always kind of a meskite; but she had a sweet pussy.

I met her backstage at a concert where her brother was performing. She was a doll, so friendly and down t earth.
Her brother Frank introduced her to the audience while he was on stage. The spotlight light went on Nancy at her table in the audience and the crowd went wild cheering for her. It was a lovely moment.

[quote] she told him and he told her to double it she did and playboy did as well.
Which is probably how we got her full frontal shots. Playboy paid less for its celebrity pictorials if they were only topless but concealing the holy of holys. If Playboy raised their offer Nancy probably had to do the same.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | June 9, 2020 7:25 AM |
Nancy's edition of Playboy was one of the top-selling issues of the magazine.
