R20 Thanks. I was curious about the scabbard because I was at a traditional wedding in Scotland. All the groomsmen wore beautiful kilts and scabbards. I never saw blades at a wedding ceremony before!

R22 I don't know about lederhosen, but it looks like a softer version of some kind of leather harness and shorts. Soft and sweet not harsh like leather.

I do like a kilt on a man, although around here, my main chance is at the "Celtic Fairs" that real Scotsmen must think hilarious. But it's true, kilts aren't flattering to reedy boys, they look good on a solid build, even on the older guys in the bagpipe bands.

And on the occasional woman. There are a few women in the bands, and they wear the band uniform, which is Scots menswear.
