Tasteful Friends: Blair House, POTUS Guest House in Washington, DC

Please feel free to post more photos. This Business Insider article was the best one I could find. It's diagonally across the street (back side) from the White House. I'll try to post the floor plan, below.

What do you think?

Nice, but still overdone.

Gunfight at Blair House when Puerto Ricans tried to murder Harry Truman. If they had actually gotten through the front door they had a surprise waiting for them, a Secret Service agent with a Tommygun was was on the steps aiming at the doorway.

I am more shocked by OP's photo than anything else, I thought the Bush's and Trump's hated each other. Below is the label for the photo.

I saw Blair House during the Reagan years, before the Mark Hampton interior design work. It was nice but the plan was odd and everything in it had been reworked a few times already, grander millwork, grander fireplaces and other design features; it felt a bit like a Greenbrier or resort hotel of the 1930s-1950s that incorporated some earlier architecture and classical ideas but in a cleaned up way that was above all modern hotel, or in this case guest house. The nicest parts were some of the garden rooms created at the back of the house; these had better architecture and were more exuberant and comfortable than the more formal and correct front rooms.

They pretty much had to do this as it was for Bush the elder's funeral and they had to rely on Trump to allow aspects of the funeral to take place.
