Tom Cruise Is Finally Getting The Face She Deserves

Inspired by the "Stars who look 10 years younger!" thread.

Recent online gossip blind item:
Apparently this permanent A list mostly movie actor said something to his publicity team because they reached out to everyone who wrote about the actor's new movie concept. They were not reaching out about the project, but rather the photo everyone seemed to be using which was never approved by the actor and is one he hates. It makes him look at least a decade older and you have to squint to realize it is him.

I believe this is the photo in question.

Poor old Tammy

You didn’t put a space between “]” and “Apparently”.

by Anonymousreply 4May 13, 2020 9:07 PM

CARBFACE!

by Anonymousreply 5May 13, 2020 9:08 PM

OMG. Aging sucks, but Tom needs to stop already with the young action hero / Top Gun type roles. You're middle aged. Xenu can't save you from that.

by Anonymousreply 6May 13, 2020 9:08 PM

🎵I hear the cottonwoods whisperin' above Tammy, Tammy, Tammy's in love🎶

by Anonymousreply 7May 13, 2020 9:12 PM

She's ancient... Let her have a puffy face, you meanies!

by Anonymousreply 8May 13, 2020 9:12 PM

He looks like Mark Steines a lot:

Actually, no. It’s because you need two line breaks [italic]before[/italic] you write “
”
Like so.

Tammy WISHES, R11.

William Schallert looked virtually the same from 30 to 70. It was uncanny how well he and Richard Anderson held on to their looks; white people usually don't hold up that well. (Sorry!)

by Anonymousreply 12May 13, 2020 9:42 PM

It’s like someone took a rubber Tom Cruise mask and stretched it over a pumpkin

by Anonymousreply 13May 13, 2020 9:43 PM

From the DL formatting guidelines:
A quote from another poster or an offsite article. Will be in the quote style until you press return twice

by Anonymousreply 14May 13, 2020 9:57 PM

And of course I messed it up. Because the formatting in the instructions... formatted the post. It's this, without the spaces after and before the square brackets:

[ quote ]A quote from another poster or an offsite article. Will be in the quote style until you press return twice

by Anonymousreply 15May 13, 2020 9:58 PM

Didn't Tom Cruise used to have brown eyes?

by Anonymousreply 21May 13, 2020 10:10 PM

You're spamming from two accounts.

by Anonymousreply 22May 13, 2020 10:13 PM

I don't understand why Tom Cruise thinks he won't be effected by aging. He's getting older. He still looks fine.

by Anonymousreply 23May 13, 2020 10:13 PM

The instructions are literally right there above your posts. You type square bracket, the word "quote," and close square bracket. Type or paste in your text. Hit return twice.

by Anonymousreply 24May 13, 2020 10:14 PM

That's what I thought I did R24. Obviously I thought wrong. Or did it wrong. Sorry for the clutter.

by Anonymousreply 25May 13, 2020 10:17 PM

“a decade older” than what? He’s pushing 60 and looks pretty good for his age.

by Anonymousreply 26May 13, 2020 10:19 PM

I'm not good at identifying what he's done to his face, but it doesn't look like natural aging. It doesn't look tight like a face lift, though. Is it fillers gone wrong?

by Anonymousreply 27May 13, 2020 10:27 PM

Isn't he like 57-58 right now? Not bad. I still don't like him.

by Anonymousreply 28May 13, 2020 11:04 PM

He looks good. Liam Neeson is 10 years older and milked the action hero thing successfully until recently, so Tom will have no trouble carrying on for a while.

by Anonymousreply 29May 13, 2020 11:10 PM

Tom is old enough to have adult grandchildren. Wow.

by Anonymousreply 30May 13, 2020 11:19 PM

Maybe he needs one of these. Face rollers are the latest beauty fad.

by Anonymousreply 31May 14, 2020 5:40 AM

He had a good long run, and personally I think his looks peaked in his late thirties around the time he shot Minority Report. But Father Time can't be intimidated into handling you with kid gloves forever like entertainment reporters can. And plastic surgery eventually bites you in the ass unless you spend Jane Fonda $ on it.

When will this cultist closet queen go away for good?

by Anonymousreply 34May 14, 2020 6:29 AM

New teeth on Tom Cruise? I can't understand why people don't do Invisalign instead of veneers. Results not fast enough? I'd rather have my own teeth, imperfect, than a perfect set of veneers, which you have to redo every few years.

Maybe he was tired of his "middle tooth" (which existed even after he worked on his teeth).

His original teeth did need work.

Anyway, he still looks great for his age, IMO.

by Anonymousreply 35May 14, 2020 6:46 AM

Does Tom Cruise drink alcohol at all? Does Xenu allow hooch, because somebody looks like he's been hitting the bottle hard!

by Anonymousreply 36May 14, 2020 6:50 AM

Tom actually does seem a lot like DL's perennial favorite movie star Joan Crawford in that the only place he seems to be entirely peaceful and on top of his game even to the point of serious physical injury ( the last mission Impossible film), is on a movie set, or while promoting said film around the world. It's when he goes home at night, and tries to have a normal person's experience that he seems completely ill-equipped.

by Anonymousreply 37May 14, 2020 6:57 AM

Since the TOP GUN sequel has been pushed back, how much do you want to bet that Cruise is having his image digitally retouched in the film?

I would have had words with my lighting director and my makeup artist if I were him. He looks like 5 miles of bad road here.

by Anonymousreply 43May 18, 2020 7:23 PM

TC and I are born the same year and look similarly bad, the difference being I have had zero "work" done on my mug.

by Anonymousreply 44May 18, 2020 7:29 PM

It's interesting that his nose keeps growing by leaps and bounds. (Ears and noses will do that as we age, but not necessarily to that extent. And I like strong noses, but whatever...)

I thought he'd had rhinoplasty as a teen when he first started working in movies. So do surgically reduced noses also keep getting wider and longer as people age?

by Anonymousreply 45May 18, 2020 7:32 PM

I thought that too r36, he looks like he has booze bloat.

by Anonymousreply 46May 18, 2020 7:44 PM

I don't know about drinking, but I do know that Scientologoloons are very liberal about smoking. Hubbard was a chain-smoker.

by Anonymousreply 47May 18, 2020 7:53 PM

I never got him. He looks so generic. He has a quality that makes him unlikeable.

by Anonymousreply 48May 18, 2020 8:32 PM

I WONDER IF cruise ever looks in the mirror and thinks 'what the fuck!" i'm a high level OT 7, i'm SUPPOSE to have powers over MEST (matter energy space time) why am i aging???

he lives a sad life in actuality... makes movies back to back to back, lives for being on a film set where he can have his ass kissed and "power" and have people "respect" him and give him approval...

why does anyone think he does this, because he can't handle REALITY and the ho hum reality of life and the world outside of make believe... when he's not on a film set, his cult and his sociopath using him, laughing at him behind his back leader best friend fill that void...

by Anonymousreply 49May 18, 2020 8:37 PM

He appears to have no private life or social life whatsoever.

by Anonymousreply 50May 18, 2020 8:38 PM

R50 well his private life is ENTIRELY SCIENTOLOGY... if you all notice he doesn't do interviews, REAL interviews for years and years now whether on tv or in magazines, and only shows up on the ass kissing late night shows and that's it..

by Anonymousreply 51May 18, 2020 8:47 PM

Wow--I just watched the first Mission:Impossible movie and thought he looked really good; but after some research, I see the movie is almost 25 years old!

Tammy did have a good run; I guess it's time for him to stop dyeing his hair.

by Anonymousreply 52May 18, 2020 8:49 PM

I think he looks fine in that picture. He even looks sexy to me.

by Anonymousreply 53May 18, 2020 8:54 PM

The only thing worse than the embracing of Scientology was his decision to fuck with his original nose.

by Anonymousreply 54May 18, 2020 8:56 PM

I wish I looked even half as good as him.

by Anonymousreply 55May 18, 2020 9:06 PM

There looks like some food or alcohol bloat going on. But I would think an individual so obsessed with being a movie star would stay away from alcohol and be very careful about what he eats. He does look like somebody's uncle who was once a very cute young man but now 40 years later is drinking too much beer. The hair dye job looks ok but he should have a touch of gray. He's very lucky he kept all of it.

by Anonymousreply 56May 18, 2020 9:12 PM

I think he's another middle-aged fat guy waiting to happen. Wait and see.

by Anonymousreply 57May 18, 2020 9:14 PM

He should take tips from Jame Brolin on how to age gracefully.

by Anonymousreply 58May 18, 2020 9:48 PM

Give the freak his due-

The Mission Impossible movies are great fun, expertly made, and he's very good in them. He had a remarkable run as a huge Hollywood box office star, and starred in some iconic movies, but years from now, or rather next week, we are all going to ask, "What was all that about?"

by Anonymousreply 59May 18, 2020 9:50 PM
but years from now, or rather next week, we are all going to ask, "What was all that about?"

That applies to the Trump presidency as well.

by Anonymousreply 60May 18, 2020 9:54 PM

In R54, he looks like he should have pointed ears.

by Anonymousreply 61May 18, 2020 10:00 PM

r59 - you're right. If you learn about the MI movies, they're largely made "on the fly," with Tom coming with as many ideas as anyone else. Tom is now more of a filmmaker than actor.

by Anonymousreply 62May 18, 2020 10:00 PM

Don’t worry. After seeing this photo he’ll be sure to get another lift in lockdown. Too vain.

by Anonymousreply 63May 18, 2020 10:03 PM

He looks really bloated. Maybe some recent work? He needs to stop.

by Anonymousreply 64May 18, 2020 10:05 PM
In [R54], he looks like he should have pointed ears.

That's from "Legend"; doesn't he play an elf or something in that movie?

by Anonymousreply 65May 18, 2020 10:06 PM

He looked pathetic in The Mummy. Fake brown hair, botoxed face. He should just age naturally. Wtf is wrong with people? Everyone is so in denial of death and mortality!

by Anonymousreply 66May 18, 2020 10:12 PM
That's from "Legend"; doesn't he play an elf or something in that movie?

He's kind of this wild forest boy. He runs around in booty shorts with his original face and actually smiles. It was before they'd audited out all his human emotion.

Sadly, that's about the only good part of the movie.

He looks Jason Bateman-y.

by Anonymousreply 69May 18, 2020 10:20 PM

I don't know why he had to mess with his face at all. He isn't a heavy drinker or smoker. He would have looked so much better if he would have just left it alone.

by Anonymousreply 70May 18, 2020 10:20 PM

Tom Cruise's Mom looks great in that pic!

by Anonymousreply 71May 18, 2020 10:22 PM

He should have been ran out of town after The Mummy.

by Anonymousreply 72May 18, 2020 10:28 PM

He looks ok. Such bad lighting and angle in which everyone looks ugly anyway.

I hate it when people tell others what they should or should not do with their lives. You are not their family, relatives or friends but are just nobody, so stop it.

R56 I would be exceeding surprised if Cruise has not had significant hair transplant work done; the chance that a man would have what is essentially a juvenile hairline and that degree of thickness aged 57 is less than 5%.

Now Donny in R75, that permed poodle puff is straight up a hairpiece.

by Anonymousreply 79May 19, 2020 6:37 AM

R79.. there was "talk" more then a decade ago about cruise allegedly getting a hair transplant, hair work done?.. who knows maybe he uses a fantastic thickening shampoo and conditioner as well as one of those hair particle shake in your hair products to make your hair look thicker and cover bald area spots..

by Anonymousreply 80May 19, 2020 1:07 PM

"Mostly movie" star? What TV shows has Tom Cruise done?

Also, I don't think there's any such thing as "permanent A-List." In Hollywood, you're as hot as your most recent hit. Been more than 18 months since you had a hit? Then you're no longer A-List.

by Anonymousreply 81May 19, 2020 1:22 PM

Harrison Ford did action pics into his grandpappy years. I don't see an issue. Tom should just keep looking healthy and let the years show, somewhat.

by Anonymousreply 82May 19, 2020 1:35 PM
Sadly, that's about the only good part of the movie.

Gasp! How DARE you, R67?!? Tim Curry turns in a mesmerizing performance as the villain in that movie!

Crazy Tom Cruise actually looks better than he has in years in that photo at R38. His skin looks like it's naugahyde, true, but in terms of features and grooming he's rolled the clock back a decade or so.

I don't think him having decent hair at 57 is that far-fetched. I still have the same hairline at 50 as I had in high school, it's just almost as much salt as pepper. Guys with naturally smooth chests are less prone to pattern baldness.

by Anonymousreply 83May 19, 2020 1:47 PM

Some men do keep all their hair.

by Anonymousreply 84May 19, 2020 1:52 PM

I'm 57 and have an overfull head of hair at the moment without the help of any products or procedures ever.

by Anonymousreply 85May 19, 2020 3:08 PM

R57 Sure, it's possible Cruise has done nothing to his hair save tint it; some men do indeed retain their hair into old age. But again, less than 5% experience NO hair loss in their lives, barely 1 of 20 men, so odds are against it. Whatever he is doing/has done, it looks great.

by Anonymousreply 86May 19, 2020 10:46 PM

by Anonymousreply 90May 20, 2020 3:27 PM

He hasn't publicly dated anyone since his divorce from Katie, which was in 2012. It's very odd that such an image-obsessed celebrity as Tom Cruise hasn't at least had a showmance PR "relationship" for even a year since then.

by Anonymousreply 91May 20, 2020 3:58 PM

Wasn't he with Michelle Stafford at one point?

by Anonymousreply 92May 20, 2020 4:02 PM

Do you think he's over pretending to be straight now that his film career is winding down? No straight guy, especially one as rich and famous as him, would go without a girlfriend/wife for 8 years. It doesn't add up.

by Anonymousreply 93May 20, 2020 4:12 PM

True, r93. Think of filthy rich men who are 60 years old. They're never single for long. Many of them are on their third wives.

by Anonymousreply 94May 20, 2020 5:29 PM

Guuuurrrlll

by Anonymousreply 95May 21, 2020 5:58 PM
