I certainly don't remember Frida being #20 song of the year. Madonna's hits had much more airplay where I grew up.

I'm surprised by the poor results of the Stevie Nicks single, her most memorable solo hit.

Stevie was definitely my favorite at the time (I was 10).

The debut albums of Madonna and Cyndi Lauper both came out in '83 but they didn't really hit until the next year.
