Um, you didn't include my songs HOLIDAY or BORDERLINE?

Cunt.

Jesus Christ! 1983? That's PATHETIC.

Who the fuck does that Laura Branigan think she is?

And don’t point out that she is no more. It was a figure of speech.

I chose Flashdance, but I loved Stand Back as well. I think Flashdance captured the zeitgeist of the era just a little bit more.

I chose Total Eclipse for the epic bombast and melodrama

Laura Branigan (Gloria):

Frida, man.

by Anonymousreply 15May 12, 2020 6:34 AM

I voted for Irene Cara, with Stevie Nicks a close second.

I certainly don't remember Frida being #20 song of the year. Madonna's hits had much more airplay where I grew up.

No contest - Stevie Nicks

The Wild Heart album was magical.

Results: DL prefers "Gloria" at 25%.

1. Gloria

2. Flashdance

I'm surprised by the poor results of the Stevie Nicks single, her most memorable solo hit.

by Anonymousreply 20May 13, 2020 12:02 AM

Stevie was definitely my favorite at the time (I was 10).

The debut albums of Madonna and Cyndi Lauper both came out in '83 but they didn't really hit until the next year.
