However, I have encountered three (only three) women who love him, one even refers to him as her future husband. One is a Greenwich Village all her life 70 year old. Guy is from Marin County I think. His sister is a lez and yes he is gay friendly. You can’t judge a person as homophobic by what he looks like.

I avidly watched the first season of The Next Food Network Star, and Guy was a completely different person then to what he is now. While never "hot" he was reasonably attractive (and much thinner) and had a great personality. He was fun, unassuming and humble and his recipes were much more palatable. He completely deserved to win and was head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.

I believe his first incarnation as a Food Network Star did not go so well, but the network really liked him, so they rebranded him. And that's what we're stuck with now.

I was in NYC in Feb and I happened to notice that his restaurant in Times Square is no more. I'd never been there, but the bad reviews were legendary. He really sold his soul for success. And why not?

R43 It was one accusation from a former, disgruntled producer and a person who works for said producer. I see people giving Biden the benefit of doubt because it’s just one accusation. Guy has denied the allegation and this is against a history of him having close relationship with his late sister all his life. That was why Guy presided over the weddings in Florida, to honor his sister. I’m not a fan of his but he does do some good charity work locally. Usually when you’re homophobic as he’s accused of being, then there would be more than one accusation and not from disgruntled former employee or people working for that employee.

The other possibility is that he’s changed for the better if he was previously homophobic. I don’t know why we can’t be okay with people changing for the better if they show empathy and understanding.

Guy Fieri deserves some credit for normalizing -- possibly glamorizing -- the rise of single-meal, 3,000-calorie American diner food: quadruple burger, triple bacon, chili cheese dogs with a side of onion rings and deep-fried zucchini.
