Last week she was deaf. Today she's blind. What's next? No wonder Ronnie left her.
Why was Jane Wyman always playing special needs characters?

Ronnie left her because she was not an expert cocksucker.

Aunt Polly was hardly needy.

In the late 40s and early 50s, Jane was considered a superb actress, and for a while she got all the prestige roles, which usually meant being somehow disabled.
It all started because of her surprising turn as the embittered mother in "The Yearling," which really made people sit up and take notice. (It is her best performance ever, by far.) She had surprised everyone so much because before then she had mostly been considered a second-string actress suitable mostly only for light comedic roles or for playing someone's girlfriend.

What’s next OP?
Her corpse will reprise Rosie O’Donnell’s seminal role in Riding On The Bus With My Sister 2: Retardation, A Celebration.

Her Mamie Doud Eisenhower hairdo at R2 did her no favors.

The only "special need" Jane had was for Rock Hudson's sizemeat, which she never was given the opportunity to enjoy.

My grandmother looked like a combination of Jane Wyman and ZaZu Pitts. No kidding!

She was too busy tending to my special needs.

I thought Ronnie left her because she was more talented and successful than he was

No, R13. Jane left Ronnie because he bored her into unconsciousness, and that's bad for one's health.
